Yeah, he was really good in it, as were Martin Freeman and Colin Hanks. The whole cast, pretty much. Season one was really entertaining, and intriguing.
It's funny, because I dislike all the main characters in that show, but I still love the show. The writing is too strong. Can't stand the four mains, though. Love Ted Danson.
Don't believe the hate. Season 3 is great and, in my opinion, captured the quirkiness of the movie the best.
But season 2 is the best. Mike Mulligan is one of my favorite TV characters ever.

Season 3 is pretty damn great, I actually like it more than the first two. Don't listen to the people who tell you to stop at this or that season, watch the whole thing.

I liked this season, but that might be cos the cast was a bunch of my favourite actors playing unusual roles (which is my whole jam). David Thewlis is a wicked villain.
Well sometimes, dead is better. The person from season 2 ain't the person that comes back. It might look like that person, but it ain't that person, because whatever lives on past season 2 ain't human at all.

I just watched all of season 3 in a week and thought it was great. That cast and set of characters could carry any show though, they were so good. Definitely preferred season 3 over season 1. Anyone calling it trash is being incredibly hyperbolic and should probably have their opinions ignored when it comes to TV.
I was Late To The Party as well and binged Seasons 1 and 2 last month.

Didn't know season 3 was so hated. I thought it was great, really loved the weirdness of it, especially the British dude.
I enjoyed S3 - it's definitely not as insane as S2 but it has more higher-concept stuff going on, making the viewer question the stories Fargo itself tells.
I think you'll dig it. It's still Fargo, with its impeccable editing and lovable characters (Sy Feltz is maybe my favorite character of the whole series thus far).

Season one is great, season two is even better, season three is a dumpster fire that somehow manages to waste Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon.

I liked S2 alot besides the shitty ending, S3 was also great, but had some pacing problems. S3 is still leagues ahead of most other TV, people saying its "shit" or "bad" are just fans of hyperboles

I thought season 1 was, overall, the best. Season 2 was even stronger for the most part, but shit the bed hard at the end which is hard to overlook. Season 3 was ok, but ultimately felt like less than the sum of its parts, even though some of those parts (David Thewlis and Ewan's dual performance) were really fucking good.
First and second seasons were incredible. I couldn't ever get into season 3 though, it just didn't do anything for me. That being said, s3 is still better than a lot of stuff on tv so it's worth a watch. Legion is still my favorite thing Hawley has done though.
I started watching Fargo last week and already finished S1 - One of the GOAT TV show seasons of all time, for sure! Having already watched the movie, I think S1 is more similar to early Twin Peaks than the Fargo movie itself, specially in regards to quality and intrigue. I have just finished the 2nd episode of S2 and it's also amazing. Not Matt Damon and Kirsten Dunst have great chemistry together, and the midnight deli scene was so so so tense, it was incredible. I have really high hopes for this season!

Genuinely curious what you found great about S3. Thewlis was the only remotely interesting character.
The second season was surprisingly fantastic. First one was pretty good but the second one reaches Sopranos levels of excellent at times.
Everyone says S3 isn't good but even hearing that going in I really enjoyed it a lot. It is different than the first two but I enjoyed it. It has a bit of a Lynchian/Twin Peaks vibe in parts which doesn't fit all that well but we get Ray Wise as a result of that so it's all good.
