It's okay, I made that mistake at first as well until I realised what I was supposed to do. :PWoopsie, yeah I admit I'm skipping through dialogue pretty fast ;)
Alright maybe I'll try and cheese him a couple of times and then just move on.
I personally just wanted to try my luck :V When I realized how tanky he was I said eff it and let me see what happens when I GTFO dodge then go back and stock up on the arrows. It's okay, I made that mistake at first as well until I realised what I was supposed to do. :P
FYI the method I put in spoilers is more or less the best method to taking him out at your current status...without breaking your strongest weapon ;3Woopsie, yeah I admit I'm skipping through dialogue pretty fast ;)

I think the world is the perfect size. All the shrines scattered around make it easy to get where you want. Also, we have teleportation, horses, a motorcycle, an item that launches you into the air to fly further, shield surfing and sand seals, what more do you want? HahaJust wish that
A) The map wasn't so big
b) They gave you a better method of traversing on land. Like a Hoverboard. A Pink Sheikah Hoverboard. That didn't run out of fuel/energy. Where you can speed across the grassy fields, the snowy mountain paths, the rocky terrains, and when you approached enemies you'd do a Rivali's Gale or a super jump ad then time freezes as you land headshots~
Any tips for the Hinox's? Hinoxes? Hinoi? Whatever the plural of Hinox is?You can use an ice arrow on a fire talus or a fire arrow on an ice talus to climb them too
Weapon durability doesn't wear out when you're riding a lynel after headshotting it
And yeah you should sell gems, you don't need that many and they're easy to farm
I don't have the 2nd DLC so I don't have the bike. I didn't like horses from my early time riding one so I dropped it. Rivali's Gale can only have you cross certain distances for so long before you gotta clear the rest of the way on foot.I think the world is the perfect size. I didn't mind Stamnia for climbing and for the charged attacks, but didn't like that it affected my glide time, let me glide for eternity NInty! The map world is too big and empty, and I didn't find any rewards from combat or exploring to be too grand outside of Shrines, and by end game I only found 20 Korok seeds. Hell the Korok and limited inventory for combat items are stuff the game could've done without. The stamina keeps it from getting boring. Just do what I did and alternate until stamina is filled. Two circles are enough to get around for a while. So just get 5 hearts and 5 stamina capsules to start then go from there. I wouldn't want the world to be any smaller or larger. It's a perfect size with enough to do and enough ways to travel. I just wish horses could have destinations set like GTA and just let you ride automatically. The pathfinding could make sure it can actually get to the destination before setting out.
Shoot the eye with an arrow then go ham. If they hide their eye when aiming, stasis them first and take a quick shotAny tips for the Hinox's? Hinoxes? Hinoi? Whatever the plural of Hinox is?
I need to do that shrine quest with the Three Brothers. I took one down one day and saved before realizing it doesn't save progress for it so I gave up and put it off as I was not prepared for all three. They're just too much work. Not that they're difficult. I've taken down more of them than Lynels, and Taluses combined.
Also, I both hate and love that the Champions special powers are disabled when in shrines. It's annoying and satisfying at the same time. (Do they still work when on Eventide or do they get taken away? I haven't been there since I took down my first Divine Beast.)
As others have said, just shoot them in the eye, then attack them while they lie down. I didn't use stasis, but just went closer and baited the attack where he slams his fist in the ground. It is very telegraphed and you have a pretty big window to dodge. He will always gaze after you with his eye after that attack, even after he starts shielding his eye when walking around.Any tips for the Hinox's? Hinoxes? Hinoi? Whatever the plural of Hinox is?
Is any of the DLC stuff applicable along the way of a first play through? Or is it more end-game / high-level?
The DLC looks pretty cool and I'm loving the game, but I'm still fairly early on.
Oh nice. May get it then.Yes all the armor and stuff from chests can be collected just off the Great Plateau. You should get a bunch of in game quest prompts that show up once you're off the Great Plateau.
You get a bonus set at 120 shrines that is really not good hahaAs others have said, just shoot them in they eye, then attack them while they lie down. On a different subject. Is it really worth it clearing every shrine before facing Ganon? I have like 91 at the moment and have finished the beasts and memories. I don't really want to spend hours searching for the last shrines, but if the payoff is huge I might reconsider.
If thats all I won't bother lolYou get a bonus set at 120 shrines that is really not good haha
Nice, thanks for the info. Will definitely grab it then. It's awesome. I wish I had the DLC my first game. It's clear some parts were designed for that DLC to be there because I came across some super suspicious spots that led to nothing in my first game, but contained chests once I got the DLC in my second game.
It's a giant Easter egg hunt. These chests aren't easy to find. Even having a good idea where they are can still lead to a challenging search. It's even harder if you haven't captured the tower of the area the chest is in.
Some of the DLC items are very useful too. Some were a godsend in my second game on Master Mode.
Sorry and by "just off the Great Plateau" I mean the quests activate at that point, not that all the chests are there. They're scattered across Hyrule. You also need to find spots that tell you where the locations are in the first place.
The motorcycle is unlocked when you get all the shrines I think. At least I'm pretty sure it can't be found somewhere. So I don't even have it. I guess it's your reward for finding them all.I don't have the 2nd DLC so I don't have the bike. I didn't like horses from my early time riding one so I dropped it. Rivali's Gale can only have you cross certain distances for so long before you gotta clear the rest of the way on foot.
Shield Surfing on non snowy, sandy or grassy areas affects durability. It's fun but it's not something I can do everywhere. Sand Seals were awkward to control for me that I kinda voided it.
With a full three wheels you can glide for a pretty long time. Remember you're constantly falling so it's not like you can go forever anyway. I wonder how far you can actually go if you have three wheels and jump from the top of the highest peak... Time to do some testing. I bet someone already did it.I didn't mind Stamnia for climbing and for the charged attacks, but didn't like that it affected my glide time, let me glide for eternity NInty! Can I activate the harder mode in an already existing game like Wind Waker HD or does it require a new game and can't be disabled once you start like Twilight Princess HD? (I hated that change to TPHD. I liked that I could turn it on and off in WWHD if I needed to. For some reason TPHD needs a new game.)
I'm not sure but I think stasis and bomb arrows work ?Man, fuck Thunderblight Ganon. This boss is literally "rage quit and never touch the game again" material. The other Ganons were a cakewalk. Just shoot them with arrows and occasionally whack with a sword. But this one is a piece of crap. The second form is impossible. I can't get any of the spikes near him in time. They keep getting hit with the lightning and he's always too far away. I'm wearing my rubber upgraded outfit but I still get hit and drop the spike. Asshole. Fuck him. Anyone have any tips? I've had enough of him for tonight.
Which one ? :^)My god that shrine with the motion controls, was ready to launch the fucking thing.

Its the early one with the ball in the maze thing.
Did you flip the controller around, so that the surface underneath the maze is flat? I waited for the ball to drop, with the now-flat platform at an angle and batted it onto the other ledge.
No I was using handheld mode. I did flip the switch then realised wtf am I doing I can't see the screen :D. I did it after like 50 goes, shit was infuriating. Cool game though. I'd only ever played twilight princess before this and this just feels more accessible from the start.Did you flip the controller around, so that the surface underneath the maze is flat? Ah, glad to hear you got it though; the motion control shrines really are a major hindrance if you're playing handheld the more I think on it.No I was using handheld mode. What I did was that I kept pretty close to him so when he started that attack with the pillars I would be close enough to use the magnesis on the pillar and place it over him. I think one or two hits of those pillars and he is almost dead. Of all the Divine Beasts, that one was the one the felt the most rng based on his movement etc.Man, fuck Thunderblight Ganon. It is. The other three were easy as pie. And took place in wide open flat areas. This one is in a clumsy cylinder with a lot of pillars and ramps in the way. Either way even if he stayed far away, he didn't use a shield so you could just keep firing away if you need to. This one has a shield. I guess I could waste Ancient arrows since it's a blue shield? But those are fucking EXPENSIVE and I don't want to test it out unless I know it works.Thunderblight Ganon isn't that hard, it's just a shitty second phase mechanic imho.
I can't. He keeps teleporting away just to be far from me. If I go close, he gets far. And most of the time I can't tell where he went because he's behind one of the structures in the way. (Can I change the layout of the room during the fight? Maybe I can change it to its more open layout?)What I did was that I kept pretty close to him so when he started that attack with the pillars I would be close enough to use the magnesis on the pillar and place it over him. They keep getting destroyed. Will they remain if I manage to hide one under a bridge or ramp? I thought maybe using that metal chest from before would work since it was still rolling around from earlier but the lightning never seemed to hit it. And now it's gone since I died and they disappear once you open them. Oh well, I thought I was being clever keeping it around. You can also use a pillar from a phase for the next pillar phase, if that helps
Try to think out of the box and experiment. The game lets you do more things than you can imagine.Welp.. I'll be starting my first Zelda game tonight. Any tips to make everything click?
Is it normal that after playing 40h and beating 2 dungeons I still only have like 3 armor sets (Zora, Rito, lady costumne) and none if the cool shit I see people sharing in screenshots?
Also I hate cooking, it slows down the pace of the game so much... I mean it's neat but with everything Switch fitting so well into my lifestyle (40y old, owns every console but despite loving technology and gfx I'm only playing Switch while using my ps4/xbo only for netflix) it sucks that the best game on the system has me spend the whole time cooking recipes when I only have 20 minutes to fuck around with the game during a lunch break or something.
The tools you get access to from early on are what make this game amazing, play with them as much as you can: solving puzzles in the world to fighting enemies, they'll help make everything feel way more creative than simple action based combat of older Zeldas.Welp.. What sort of gear are you seeing shared in screenshots? From this page I see a guy with the Champion's Tunic on, and two posts showing off the Ancient Armour set. Go visit Impa at Kakariko to get you started on the path to both of these, outside of that a lot of the more beneficial gear comes from Shrines, I could give more info on where to find some if you're interested. Other than that, some of the more 'Zelda' gear is locked behind DLC or Amiibos, so if it's that stuff you're talking about, that's the only way you're getting them.Is it normal that after playing 40h and beating 2 dungeons I still only have like 3 armor sets (Zora, Rito, lady costumne) and none if the cool shit I see people sharing in screenshots?

Haven't tried taking it back off of my ole' Freddy, but since you can only have one horse out at any one time, I don't see it ever being a one-time equip. Will try in a moment though. To anyone with the DLC pass, how does the ancient saddle work? Can I use it on multiple horses? Or at least take it off a horse and put it on a different one?
I have a mediocre horse right now that I'd like to use it on, but if it's a one-time use only then I'll just save it for a better horse down the line.
