So. This is in the EU psn Christmas Sale. Is it still active? And how bad would I get beaten as a beginner?

It is still active and you probably will get beaten if you go in blindly. I have seen some fresh names in lobbies since the sale though so it seems to have hooked some more people.

One thing I'd recommend after you buy it is to make a US PSN account and play on that as it's the most active. When you search for lobbies, the game only gives you the option of 'same region' and 'worldwide', and you will not find rooms set for 'US' at all unless you're using a 'US' account.

I just picked this up because of the sale. I'll definitely try to put some time into it next week.

Just realized the DLC released in October or earlier is on sale on US PSN.

Time to get some units I guess.

Was super disappointed when I learned there's no option to insert a CPU unit into an online match. Me and 2 friends got the game and there's simply no way to play together in groups of 3. 3v3 mode is useless because we could connect to another group, and Player match require a min of 4 to get started.

So dumb they don't allow you to fill in a spot with a CPU player, or at least allow a free for all mode, or round robin style 1v1.

Still enjoying the single player mode - but this oversight really sucks.

Picked this up recently. Pleasantly surprised! I thought online would be a wasteland, but I'm getting casual matches quickly and regularly. Maybe because of the holidays?

Random Thoughts:
-Overall load times are pretty quick.
-The tried and true Gundam Vs. gameplay remains intact (unlike the transition from Dissidia Duodecim to Dissida NT...)
-Constant flow of online matches in casual play. (I haven't tried ranked battle yet... although I don't really care to).
-Coming from Full Boost, I think the presentation/UI could be a bit more expressive/stylish. As far as I can tell right now, It barely manages to be satisfactory.

Great game overall IMO. However, with so much to play these days, I wonder what Bandai Namco's strategy is for hyping up the game/bringing new players in. Will they build off and improve Gundam Versus, or will the leave it out to dry??

Are there community nights for this? I'd love to set up a room and play with y'all sometime.

Nothing consistent. Some of us will usually post in the Discord if we have a room going. We could probably make rooms on weekend evenings though.

Haven't played in a bit, but I'm looking to come back when the G Gundam suits drop. Nothing more fun than doing Turn A's 2BC on unsuspecting Masters.

I just got back from Japan where I got addicted to whatever the current arcade version of this is (Maxi boost on or something?????) and now i'm craving playing this again fucken hard.

Probably gonna pick it up on PS4. Only thing I'm worried about is online pop in australia. Hopefully people actually play it here or, even better net code connecting to the US isn't god awful

Just picked this up the other day, looking forward to playing it! I was a big fan of the older titles, but I actually haven't played one of these since Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam (yes - that far back lol). I expect to get my ass handed to me while I learn the ropes, but that's just the way it goes...

How is Char's Zaku II?

Is there a suit that basically never melees and just shoots stuff? I like shooting stuff. I almost never melee. I'm afraid to get close to people lol.

But people will be getting close to you. So consider your melee as defensive options if it makes you feel better about trying out all suits.

What suits don't rely on charge moves, or at least not a lot (so Sandrock just has the zero system, which you're not using constantly)?

I gueeess. I've tried out a lot of shooting suits but I'm not sure I've found one that really clicks yet.

All I can think of is Guntank, but even then, I'm not sure if that has melee moves. I don't think it does though.
But yeah, like Bagandscalpel said, melee is good for when people close in on you.

There's no way I'm mailing freaking Guntank when there are so many other cool suits lol. Awesome assist though. I was messing around with the Psyho Zaku since it's got like 500 guns but I don't really like suits with machine gun weapons where you have to hold down square.

Guntank has a single melee attack that can actually give you decent space to breathe, it's either up+melee or down+melee, one of the two.

Guntank is actually really fun to play, but if the other player is even halfway decent then it can get destroyed amazingly quickly.

I guess you can try Buster if you want to buy the dlc. He doesn't have any melee and his B button switches his sub weapon.

Finally gravitated back to this after having a pretty disappointing online experience at launch- seems to be going much more smoothly now. I'm still garbage, but I was winning a few 1v1s. Currently playing around with Ali-Al Sachez's Throne and enjoying some fangs fly. Should probably watch some tutorials or something to really understand the systems better.

Any more news from japan? There was a gundam event that should have wrapped up a couple hours ago, there were supposed to be some announcements coming out of it (probably for Breaker 4)

The latest, I think, SD Gundam game that came out on PS4/Vita is getting a Switch port. That's all I've heard.

I'd say its dying down a bit, but you can usually find a player lobby or two, where most people play, later in the day and during weekends. Unfortunately ranked is dead, not too sure about casual matches though.

it's pretty dead imo. I have trouble finding games now. I have a group that i play with regularly but finding random games? lol.

This game's online died so much quicker compared to the last two titles. I think this franchise is officially going to be dead for the home console going forward, at least in terms of US players.

Of course, it had a lot of overlap with DBZF and MHW.....
