Great tweet. No to McElwain. In Fact. Hell no. Dude had the most boring ass offenses, and uh, hello, UF... do we want that shit?

I've seen this around the Alabama Fandom today and they can get fucked. We've had some of the best offenses since Lane came. Dude made Blake a baller, Coker long ball a real thing, got a Freshman to take us to the Natty, and then this year that offense actually averaged more points and played better for most of the year. Big No on Mac.

Yep. Told my dad I wouldn't be averse to Locksley getting the nod, but he seemed convinced Mac was the obvious choice. People remember his stint with us more fondly than I do.

All that said, with the pieces we'll have on offense the next two years...it'd take a special brand of ineptitude to not have one of the best units in the country.

I'll just say I want someone new/different and leave it at that. Someone that has not been OC at Alabama previously.

Mekhi Brown has transferred to Tennessee State.

UGA's Deandre Baker and Terry Godwin are coming back for 2018. No word on center, Gaillard yet.

Daboll wanted to play Tua earlier like the fans did.

Saw a bad take about Sark keeping Jalen in the natty and costing Bama a title if he'd stuck around. Anyone who seriously thinks it wasn't Saban's call to pull Jalen at halftime is an idiot. I also think that works the other way. As much of a competitor as he is, Nick does show a bit of sentimentality for certain players every now and then. As much as he knew Tua was the future, I'm sure he wanted Jalen to be the guy for the present and to win a ring as the starting QB. Just wasn't in the cards. Pair that with Nick's risk aversion, and yeah, I can buy Daboll wanting to throw out Tua much sooner but not being allowed to.

Sucks about Brown, but that was among the most boneheaded things I've ever seen from one of our players.

Yeah. Should have been ejected by the officials for what he did in the game, and I have no idea why Saban allowed him to stay in the game and play later after taking a shot at a coach.

Saban commented after the game that he didn't even know the sideline scuffle had happened. I admit that incident has made it so I don't even remember what he did in-game that drew a penalty.

Threw a punch at a UGA player. That's hilarious that Saban the control freak said he didn't know what had happened. I don't believe that for a minute.

Would have believed if he said he didn't care and that the coaches talked to him and he'd calmed down.

He's a control freak, not omnipotent.

Not sure what being a control freak has to do with him not knowing Brown threw a punch at a coach during the game. If the coaching staff elected not to tell him until after it was over, how would he have ever found out? He's in the middle of coaching the biggest game of the year, not looking at what's going on behind him.

His focus on controlling things actually affecting the game is part of the reason he went home with the hardware lol. I'll watch the punch Brown threw later, but yeah, that sounds stupid. Weird that I don't even remember it.

So Georgia a lock for the SEC East. Bama a lock for the SEC West. Clemson a lock for the ACC. Any more 2018 locks? Oklahoma is going to roll with their 5'9" QB next year so I wouldn't call them a Big 12 lock

Pls don't be Freeze

God speed to the ACC.

Sabs would bring him in to pick his brain.

here's other former SEC west coaches...
There's Bert <- hahha
Les Miles <- would he even?
Chizik?
Tubs?
Nutt?

Slyvester Croom ya'll Mularkey just got the axe with the Titans and Sly was D Henry's RB coach. And he's an Alabama guy... brain, stop, stop brain...Last time STATE beat Bama he was the coach... jes sayin

Did I miss anyone? I could honest to god see Croom getting a call if it meant he could keep a lot of the assistants around.

[Updated at 7:25 p.m.] Former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze was in Tuscaloosa today and was in the football building, The Tuscaloosa News has learned. Saban has always had a healthy respect for Freeze, who gave Alabama fits with his offense. Freeze was given a head coach restriction and two-game suspension but only if he were to become a head coach. He would face no restrictions as an assistant coach.

Maybe he didn't like the grade he got back from the draft committee.
Miller had him as his number one DT though.

I do not see him falling out of the First unless he did something gross.. he's up there with Payne and Vita as first rounders. Makes Zero sense compared to Dremont Jones at Ohio State (and that still isn't smart since he literally has two potential top ten picks in Chase and Nick that could end up in front of him).

This remains one of the weirdest moments in CFB. "Why the fuck?" is basically all I remember thinking, and all I'm thinking now.

I'm sure they have insurance policies. Either way, I know our boosters can't match NFL first round money, so if it's not that, it's gotta be something.

Those policies are nearly impossible to collect on. Definitely a gamble.

But with all of that talent returning, Clemson fans should be stoked for next year. Bryant had a nice year of experience and a stinging loss to keep the motivation strong.
