Has your lady seen Berserk? If not she's going to be in for a rude awakening with some of the violence and tits in her face.

Oh I made her get into Berserk. We fight everyday over Griffith! She says he didn't do anything wrong, I get pissed and go ape shit on Griffith. She loves Berserk now ever since I made her read the manga and watch the movies.
Your girl isn't exactly wrong. I view Berserk as a whole for the most part as a series of morally grey decisions. A decision being right or wrong really hinges on the perspective of the one making said decision. Especially Golden Age stuff. Guts isn't even a decentish person till Berserk becomes a JRPG and you see him being supportive to Isidro and Farnese.
I mean I did say for the most part. Even I can't defend that one.

I can actually relate to Griffith...mostly with how I think the man does not know how to interact with people and distances himself from his emotions. Those are elements of him I could relate to. The rapey part is a no no for me though.

Agreed, and that's precisely why I love Puck so much. Perfect contrast to Black Swordsman Guts' darkness.
If anyone has been watching the show Happy! on SyFy I get some parallels between the main character Nick Sax and the little flying unicorn imaginary friend voice by Patton Oswald to Guts and Pucks respectively. Sax is played by Chris Meloni and he is on a near non stop rampage across NYC in search of a little girl assisted by her imaginary friend and its... well berserk, the word not the series. Meloin is also nearly unstoppable as well despite being shot several times, stabbed repeatedly, kicking his ass kick over and over and even suffering several heart attacks but does not stop.
I never get people saying Berserk turned into a JRPG, its clearly a D&D campaign.

As far as I'm concerned Guts and co travel around Midland level grinding. Regarding Griffith...my "friends" don't exactly value me, my wellbeing, happiness or existence so pretty much I could sacrifice 98% of my phone contacts list without really feeling like I did a bad thing. You have good friends, I don't.
I also value the lives of other people and try not to be completely self centred.

Yea but he already has throwing knives, a crossbow, and tiny bombs he can throw. Guts has ranged combat pretty figured out.
