There's that too, I think it's a mix of number killed and dungeons cleared, there was a good post about it at some point
That's cool. I hope we have more enemies that are smart like Lynels in the future, though, on top of them scaling with you.

So I decided to try striking a Blue Lynel with an Ancient Arrow.....
EDIT: Lynel Hoof get! Now to get 10 more :V
OK lay it on me people how do I kill these snake dragons. If I can't have them as pets NO ONE CAN!
So you're telling me I need to waste all my stamina and stamina recovery items just so I can give them a manicure for my benefit?Lmao. My reaction except it was a silver Lynel.
You can't. Bit if you shoot different parts of their bodies, you get special drops.
I've never used stamina items for a dragon except on my first encounter with one whereSo you're telling me I need to waste all my stamina and stamina recovery items just so I can give them a manicure for my benefit?
Hey man this Atk power armor may look ugly but I welcome the bonus dmg, so it's getting buffed one way or the other.I've never used stamina items for a dragon except on my first encounter with one whereI had to free Naydra from the curse, but that was because it was very early on in my playthrough and it was more lengthy than just hitting it with a single arrow.
It isn't necessary unless you want to upgrade certain outfits, though.
I meant the DLC1 trials. I didn't know there were trials in DLC2 too. Thanks for clearing that up. I just watched a few reviews and I am sure I'll get the DLC. This looks like a lot of fun and I still can't get enough of BotW. More content sounds great. What trials ?
If you're talking about sword trials (DLC1) you're naked, it's similar to eventide islant
If you're talking about DLC2 on the plateau you only have one weapon that can't break
Yeah it's a mix of monsters killed and time since last blood moonIs it true the Blood Moon is determined by how many enemies you kill?????
The platform lights up when you can shoot at the sun, the window is also rather longThe Sign of the Shadow 'quest' is odd
I keep flinging arrows at the sun while on the platform but the shrine doesn't come out. I am flinging at 3 PM
I knowYeah it's a mix of monsters killed and time since last blood moon

OK, so I'm about 6 hours in and have a few questions.
- How do I quickly switch my bow/arrows without having to open up my inventory? Clicking up on the D-Pad opens up the Runes, clicking right on the D-Pad opens up weapons, but there doesn't seem to be any way to easily and quickly switch my bows and arrows.
- Does the game place a limit on how many shrines you can do early on in the game? I just arrived at Kakariko Village, and am thinking about just focusing on farming shrines to boost my stats - but I don't want to waste my time doing so if the game places a cap on this early on, ie putting shrines in unaccessible locations based on my limited stamina or surrounding them with high level mobs that I can't take down.
- Are rupees worthless? If not, what should I be spending it on, and what would be the best way to obtain more rupees quickly?
- I was able to tame a horse and ride it, but how do I summon it wherever I am? Don't I need a saddle?
Yeah it's a mix of monsters killed and time since last blood moon

That thread is just for DLC 2. This is a general OT for the game.Wtf, news to me. What if you avoid enemies completely?
And speaking of Wtf, are there two ongoing OTs for this game? What's that 'Kass rules everything around me' thread about?
Hey guys, I need help! How on earth do I traverse Death Mountain? I brewed a Fireproof Elixer but it oddly does nothing against the heat. Is there some secret that I'm not privy to?
Also, I just got to the Lost Woods. Do I need a special item in order to get through the maze? Just a simple yes or no would suffice. Thanks!
The old man at the tower? The old man explains cooking
You take ingredients and put them in a pot on a fire
He moves around the plateau and has a shack
Right, so I've got to find him then I guess.
Kinda ? You have a main quest to give you a path to follow but you can go wherever you want pretty much, and every part of the world has some stuff to discoverRight, so I've got to find him then I guess.
Is the rest of the game like this?, is it primarily an exploration game?, it's not like I need hand holding, but a nudge in the right direction stops me from wondering around aimlessly not knowing what to do.
Unless things pick up a bit, this might not be the game for me............

I'll give it a bit more time, I don't know what I was expecting, but it hasn't grabbed me.The game doesn't really hold your hand. You won't get waypoints or little dots on your map telling you where all your points of interest are. You see something? You figure out how to get to it. That doesn't mean the game doesn't tell you what you need to know, you just need to do a bit of experimenting to figure it out at times. Exploration is one of its strengths, so if you don't enjoy any of the things I mentioned, then it may not click for you. I would at least try to go to the first settlement in the game before giving up, though.

carlosrox I enjoy your videos. :) You can post them wherever you'd like.
That's okay. If you need any help, we're here to give tips if you'd like.
Have you been upgrading your armor ? That should helpSo, I'm like 40-ish hours into this game and have just been exploring the map, doing shrines, and hitting the memories. I've enjoyed that a lot. But, I don't even remember what I'm *supposed* to be doing narratively.
My thing is, I don't really enjoy the combat in this game at all. I feel like the risk/reward is never worth it for what I'm enjoying doing. I feel like I'm routinely getting wrecked by random encounters I have with pretty baseline enemies (skeleton dudes at night, or a random dude on a horse rolls up and starts hitting me with arrows), and any time I stop and fight I'm just trashing my weapons and getting worse weapons back in return. Should I just ignore the story and keep doing the exploration thing until I've had my fill? If I legitimately don't like the combat, is there any point going forward to do the dungeons and stuff?
I'm sure part of my problem is not spending time getting used to the combat and trying to get better, but there's a lot of other stuff in the game I'd rather do, and it's really easy to avoid combat all together.
Have you been upgrading your armor ? That should help
Better weapons come with more playtime, I can't remember how weapons "upgrade" naturally but it's probably a mix of dungeons completed and number of blood moons
You should do dungeons as they come really
There are two levels of fire/heat/cold in the game. Death Mountain (near the top) is hotter than the areas around the bottom. You're not in the right area yet if even the Fireproof elixir is doing nothing. What you need is another item or piece of clothing to help protect you from burning (aka two items of clothing OR one clothing item and the elixir protects you from the secondary level of fire - equipping an ice weapon also acts as a layer of fire protection). Are you trying to find a settlement? Or just generally exploring?
