Me too, I've only gotten mine towards the end of last year and I haven't really tinkered with Nintendo Network. I'll add you later tonight.
Emily didn't say that at all.
As far as she knows, Nintendo's first party lineup will be good, but this year the company would heavily rely on ports of old games and third party support.
What a ride, though! Anyway, we are primed and ready to jump N. ERA is amazing :)

Pretty much nobody knows what will be in the direct if/when it happens or what Nintendo's entire first party lineup is.
No ones word is gospel on this.

But the two things Nintendo posted were Chibi Robo and a tomodachi life mii.
Both Chibi Robo ziplash and tomodachi life were announced in shadow-dropped directs.

We locked the other thread because having a 24/7 rollercoaster thread where everyone is in constant hype mode can get tiring after awhile.
To clarify again: I never said Nintendo didn't have any new games this year. They have a good first party lineup of games this year.

But seriously, I think we should cool it with the Direct talk. It's going to happen, but it will be next week I suppose. The Dark Souls Remaster for PS4 pre-order rumour fills me with hope.
And here's hoping we'll get more third party stuff for Switch. Gonna be an interesting year.

So no January 11th Direct that so many insiders were so confident in. A lot of people lost credibility as far as I'm concerned. There's nobody, except Vern, who has great credibility.
I expect the Direct will largely focus on games releasing by E3, and I think we already know most of those.
February: Bayonetta 1 + 2
March: Kirby
April/May: Fire Emblem
With Yoshi somewhere in the middle (or maybe even later, if they don't want to release it close to Kirby.)

I saw GameXplain put up a Nintendo Direct discussion video...I haven't watched it, but did they just make one for the fun of it anticipating one happening this month? I mean we all are expecting one this month, but I've never seen them do a discussion without a Direct being announced.

What happened yesterday was weird. Very weird.
Something tells me this day won't be very productive either. I hope they announce the direct for around midnight in Europe, this way I could watch it. But something tells me it will be available in youtube by surprise in any moment of the day.

It was a fun ride. I think the mod/admin team did a stand up job of letting everyone have their fun. It was an insane ride. I can only imagine what will happen when a Direct is eventually announced.
Let's be hypothetical and say this direct that isn't happening did happen tomorrow. Why would Nintendo act so different with this direct than others prior? It doesn't make any sense. Like I don't believe the people mods/insiders that heard on the 11th were lying when that said that's what they were told, but I believe their source is wrong.

The entire 2018 Switch lineup could be just a port of Devil's Third and an eShop demo for Carnival Games HD Remaster and I'd still be happy... so long as they give us VC.
The Switch is on track to (easily!) be my absolute favorite entertainment device ever, and I want as big of a historical Nintendo game collection on the thing as I can get my greedy hands on.
I want all the core Marios, all the core Metroids, all the core Zeldas, all the Pikmins, all the Smash Bros., all the Punch-Out!!s, all the Donkey Kongs, all the Kid Icari... basically, all of the very good Nintendo things.
I've bought them all before, but dammit, I'll buy them all again, and only Nintendo themselves can stop me!

Firstly, I agree so much with the post you quoted. You guys could have easily stopped the thread earlier, and would have been justified in doing so, but you somehow managed to let us have a great, chaotic time while still putting in the work to maintain a necessary level of order. Not only is that time consuming and probably stressful, but it requires saying the right things, so massive props to our mod/admin team <3
