I don't really see the appeal of Lunar style myself. The rocket jumps are cool, kind of, but there's not enough room to maneuver. For every few successful rocket jumps there is a lot of fumbling and tumbling around in floaty moon gravity. I also don't like how you can't even jump from island to island in the market district of Jirga Para Lhao, even with jump extending talisman equipped.

I'd rather just use normal mode gravity shift to move around. Much easier to adjust your course with on the fly, too. Just press R1 again, a flick with the camera to aim at your new direction and X to speed fall in that direction. I don't even have to think about it anymore, it happens automatically.

Lunar mode is useful for fighting flying Nevi and occasionally goofing around with movement by switching from normal to Lunar and back again, but not really practical for getting around by itself.

How is Lunar bad for traversal? It's just situational. I find it equally as useful as flying for long distance vertical travel (e.g. straight up the side of a building), and more useful (and fun) for jumping through areas with plenty of building to ricochet off of.

Yeah Lunar is great for traversal. Sometimes you don't have to shift gravity to get somewhere. You can just rocket jump or spring jump. Every time I'm searching for treasures I use Lunar to spring jump into the sky and then float up there to check my surroundings. Rocket jump is pretty fast too. You can easily rocket jump and then switch to normal gravity and fly from there to give yourself a big head start.

When I look for treasures, I just shift into air, pick a point in the distance that gives me a "line" with which I can see most of the rooftops below me, and then I shift in that direction. No additional button presses are needed as Kat keeps flying automatically, which means I can scout the rooftops below me at my own leisure.

Lunar style jumping sounds roundabout in comparison.

So when I go do the treasure hunts, I only get gems. I dont get an "item". Does that mean I unlocked all possible items?

Check your talismans for the Ultimate Explorer. If you have that talisman, you've gotten all the items you can out of treasures, as it's the final treasure drop.

You can also check your statistics under Settings to see if you have all the furniture and gestures. That said, there are some items that you get from specific missions, so if you don't have all of them yet, it's not necessarily a sign that you still need to get items from treasures.

Also, the furniture items only become available after chapter 14.

I also received only gems from treasures after for a good while after unlocking all the gestures (that you could get from treasure hunts) but not progressing to chapter 14 yet.

What's the deadline till the online server gets shut down? Might do some falling around again, love this game.

Question: can you earn the talismans associated with challenge quests multiple times? There are a few ones with good effects, but with only two instead of three for example. I'm hesitant to merge/recycle/whatever them if they're one of a kind, though.

Well, I go back to work tomorrow so this is the last I'll get to play with the online features, very fun to have an active community over the past few weeks.

Just for fun, below are my two highest (and only) rated photos. It's a shame the game compresses the images so much.

Once the weekend hits I think I'll download the first one. Quiet time of the year so I need something to keep me busy.

Damn I've mis-planned - easily get the 6000 dusty tokens but won't have enough treasure hunts to get all the furniture. Doesn't help that I'm still on Episode 10...

Games good - just more GR!

Never played GR2, because I did not, yet, complete GR 1 on PS Vita.
I Like Kat, the World, the graphics, but I don't like the gravity stuff, sometimes I dont know if I am Up Side down.. Now I am in chapter 18 or 19 and in a mission to transport a NPC the map, and lack of indications is the major dificulty..

But I will finish it, and someday will play GR 2.

I'm really in love with this game. I had few expectations going in, but it's just such a joy to play. The world is so wonderfully detailed - I really enjoy flying around peeping at apartment's porch decorations, or admiring the tiny street scenes. There's so much love put into even tiny things like AC units, vending machines and phone booths.

There's also something about the approach to open world design that I find refreshingly "naive." It feels like a PS2 era open world, where there is a moderate amount of activities to do and a ton of weirdo variety, rather than a focus on repetition and overwhelming quantity. I enjoy how the sidequests open up a few at a time for each main mission, meaning that things always feel manageable and nicely scaled.

Have reached the end of the game for me, after hours of trying... can not get the wins against Fi (side quest) unless i can push him down the water, and that only happens 1 time per 20 losses.

Kat's hair and scarf are designed to point in the direction of "regular" gravity.

Wait for him to attack with his lunge and dodge it at the last moment then attack him until he drops the bell grab it and run!
If you don't have enough kicks to finish the attack (maybe you missed a few) you can try to do the aeriel heel drop kick. I think it x (to jump) then x and square together. She will come down hard with her heel. You barely need to jump to use this attack either. I think I used this rather than her final kick in the regular combo, can't remember the exact reason why but I think perhaps the recovery is faster on the heel drop.

It also pays to just dodge around to get a feel for his attacks. Jumping sometimes help too.

Didn't help, but thanks, I were forced to step down to easy difficulty to even stand a chance, and it was still not a walk in the park.

Haha, I had a Treasure hunt today where the start of it wasn't even on the same Island where the treasure apple was located.

I can't deal with the combat. It's the absolute low point of the game for me, much more than it was in GR1. I'm now at chapter 15, the fight against the two deltas. I can't hit jack shit when they move but of course they can hit Kat just perfectly when she's shifting, even at high speed. It wouldn't even be such a problem if Kat could at least tank hits and keep shifting, but nope, she suddenly stops only to get hit with another barrage of missiles.

I always go to where the photo was taken , not what the photo is showing, especially if i don't see the apple in the photo. regardless of the gesture in the photo.

Anyway , got the 6000 token yesterday , collecting the rest of the collectibles before starting raven dlc.

Maybe you should change talismans Also , use objets to hit or stun ennemies for a little time , of use lunar projectiles on them if you can't kick shift them ( with teleport ).

Finally completed the game and the DLC. Good times but definately not without flaws. It's a shame the game was a total bomb, there definately was a ton of love and talent poured into it. I'd say the soundtrack alone is one of the best this year. Already looking forward to whatever Toyama and gang are up to next wether it's another colorful adventure, back to horror or something completely different.

Now I can move on to Knack 2, fun times ahead.

I'll probably come back to platinum this once I get all the big 2017 games out of my backlog. Next few months seem to be relatively dry minus maybe Monster Hunter and Ni No Kuni so that's swell.

I checked my talismans, but I don't really seem to have one that helps me with my problems (that is, not hitting the targets and the enemy attacks stunlocking me, so to speak). Either Wormhole kicks or stasis, or a combination of both, indeed seem to be the best option here.

To be honest, I think I'm just getting tired of the game in general. I checked my trophy list and I got my first trophy in Remastered at December 10. So it has been nothing but Gravity Rush for the past month, bar a few days of Rise of the Tomb Raider to bridge the gap between Remastered and GR2.

I will try to get to chapter 20 before the weekend. But after that it's time for me to focus on other games for the time being and only do the daily treasure hunts until the servers are permanently shut down.

At chapter 18 now. Just focusing on the story now and ignoring all the side missions for the time being. They are unrelated to the story anyway, so returning to them later won't be such a problem.

How many furniture for online hunting?
Can I get them even after online disconnected?
25 in total. Here's a list of everything: https://www.gravityrushcentral.com/...es-may-introduce-another-problem-new-players/

You could still get them offline as long as the random treasure apples don't disappear when the servers go down. But they will be a lot harder to find since there are so many places they could spawn and you don't have hints to work with anymore.

...so I guess you got past it now, but I just did this and it was actually pretty easy if you just stay in Lunar the whole time? I definitely had to get more life a few times, so the damage they do is a problem, but warping to kick them worked extremely well.

Press down on the d-pad to reset the camera. That will help.

Yeah, I managed in the end. I could barely target them, though. The camera was definitely a problem. I ended up chasing them around the district and flinging stuff at them, which worked reasonably well.

Lunar mode is all spectacle. It's bad for traversal.
There are some tricks to using Lunar mode. For instance, if I want to land immediately, then I press X + [ ] midair. It is really good for making an abrupt stop while doing a rocket jump. And the wormhole kick actually allows you to travel faster than normal shifting. My times in challenge missions greatly improved when I used this tactic.

Whew, completed chapter 20.

That Mutated Kali Angel came out of nowhere. I felt bad for her, though. There was pain and sadness in those eyes.

Yep, when you realize Kali was just being manipulated, and that she was just acting upon her loneliness/desire to be with her sister, it stings to see her end up that way
