I stopped playing cause of the controls. kept over-aiming everytime i saw someone. And im at 3. And god forbit someone is beside you, fucking impossible to hit half the time. Controls are hot garbage. I hope this patch helps.
Some people might be able to suffer through it but that doesnt make it good, cause its not.
Multiple posts on the last 2 pages that claim that people who have issues with the shooting are likely just bad at the game.
Also, my last match for tonight was intense. I was decently equipped but with only 2 weapons. Drove a lot on the outside of circles to loot some but didn't have much luck in finding a viable third weapon besides shotguns which are almost unusable anyway. As I almost run out of fuel I switch to the bike. I run over a guy accidentally. I almost crash into other cars running around (car meta still going strong) but I wait for the right moment to jump off and hide.
That doesn't really arrive as the circle closes on a wide area next to the school. The school is the only hiding spot bar like 4 trees, and as the circle gets smaller it is reduced to hills, open space and two trees, both taken so I decide to run over people as I dodge bullets. It works for a while, I kill a dude and others kill each other. Down to two I try to run over the last guy like 4 times but I fail, he needs to get up the hill fast as circle is closing while I can speed around like crazy.
I go up the hill, get off the bike and hide away in the high grass. We see each other and shoot but no bullets hit (shooting doesn't seem improved tbh). His stun grenade does nothing but his frag damages me slightly. I move farthest away waiting for his next move from below. He shouldn't be able to see me but he probably got a lucky angle and noticed me in the grass. I shoot back but it's too late, #2. Fun game overall.
In general the game feels slightly smoother in the initial areas, and the aiming feels better too a bit, but hit detection seems hit and miss still, and populated areas got really bad framerate drops (on X) of the likes I don't remember before. There's still a lot of work to do I think, the car meta seems mostly unchanged and performance isn't great, but there are improvements in QoL. I'll try FPP tomorrow.

If you are having issues with HDR, post some details in this thread with TV models, etc. They are watching these threads and they need the details.

Pretty much what's been talked about prior in this thread. Sony x900e, work HDR on the game is very dark and hard to see.
Did you (i) reboot your Xbox after installing the patch, and/or (ii) completely reinstall the game?
Off topic and apologies in advanced, but having just picked up an X last week and not owning any Xbox console in about 6 years. What's the advantages of running games from an external?
Neither, I just downloaded the patch and started playing.
Solo third-person.
With the OG you would get better load times as the USB was faster than the internal bus. If you factory reset you could keep your downloaded games.
Not sure that this still applies with the S or X
On the X I don't think there is much of an advantage. Tests show that the internal of the X loads games just as fast as an OG or S Xbox with an external SSD.
The Xbox one X still only has a 5400rpm hard drive internally installed.
Most external hard drives have 7200rpm or are SSDs. They will have significantly faster load times for many games than the internal drive.
For PUBG specifically. The initial air drop onto the map takes time to load buildings, weapons, and textures. It will load in faster if the game is installed on an external drive.
It's crazy because this is the difference between being able to land on a rooftop with good weapons/being able to walk into a building to get weapons/ or even seeing the weapons at all
I'd recommend doing one of them. I believe the patches have--at least so far--recommending resetting the console after install. Don't know why this would be any different.
This. It was an advantage on the OG/S, but X--not so much. Still, I have a solid 3 TB of games on my external, so I'm not in any rush to move them over. My plan is to move them over on an as needed basis.
Come to think of it wasn't it actually slower to run an SSD on the X?
I've not had this happen once on my X. On my brother's OG it happens occasionally. On my dad's OG with terrible internet it happens Everytime and it takes forever to load. From my limited experience it almost seems the Internet connection has more to do with load times than the drive. Seems really weird I know but that's what I saw.
My friends and I have had 3 crashes tonight amongst other bullshit such a grenade that didn't go off, a weird glitch that had me stuck on the loot select screen and my friend being stuck in a wall.see
Edit: add to the list a weird glitch that had the camera stuck so I was facing behind me constantly, and another 2 crashes one while we were in the last 10.
Game is a fucking mess and has a long way to go. I wouldn't recommend anyone pick this up until at least another 3 or 4 patches at this rate.

Honestly I don't remember, thought it was here. A quick Google search shows that I was wrong about it being slower however with the X the gain is marginal.

This is not accurate. Most external hard drives are only 5400rpm. However, if you are using a larger external, say 3TB or more, each individual platter will hold more data on it, which makes reading quicker (essentially they're more dense), despite being only 5400rpm.
Well that's worrisome, last thing I want to see is this game crashing in solo. It's the one mode where it was at least fairly stable for me.
Im currently rank 136 for FPP Solo. I swear to god this game is going to give me a heart attack. As soon as top 20 approaches my heart just beats uncontrollably.
Frame rate is a lot better on my 1S after this recent patch. Playing off an external. Once they eliminate the rubber banding it will be great.
Weirdly I'm encountering insanely poor FPS on my X. Like 15 FPS all the time. Buddy on S reporting it's running very smooth.
Anyone else noticing this?

playing squads today and the circle went over some houses and there were still 30+ people alive and the framerate absolutely tanked. I would probably say in the single digits for a while. Easily the worst I've seen it after the initial load. I'm going to say having that many people so close together caused it but I obviously don't know. Played a few other games and they were fine though so ymmv. preview and all that.
I've neger experienced this pre the latest patch. But has anyone experienced finding someone, shooting at them (verifying hits with blood) and not killing them? Additionally. They are stuck in one spot. They don't notice me either.
It appears as if that person is lagging and are stuck in one spot, but are acting as if they are in a different spot in the air.

Framerate on the X seems a bit more stable to me. Rubber banding is still an issue though and yes controls are a mess. You kinda get used to them, but not really imo. Still having fun with the game.
Everyone should restart their console after the update--or even do a fresh reinstall.
Also, FPP is terrifying.

Anyone have any settings they'd like to share? I've been messing with sensitivities, but don't have just exactly perfect.
What? It's definitely improved. Rubber banding still present, the but acceleration changes are welcome, the FPP is terrifying, and it seems like they're slowly but surely getting it where they need to.
A white screen in the game or the Xbox? Try reinstalling it.
Lag spikes were a problem tonight, but happy they opened up FPP to squads. Played a few matches of FPP and my 3 person group enjoyed it. Hope it remains enabled full time.
Are the 1, 2, and 3-person squad options still available in FPP?
Are you going ADS in those situations? You're better off shooting from the hip when they're close.

We were definitely able to queue as a 3-person squad FPP a couple hours ago. Not sure about 1 or 2 person squads.
The framerates have been far more stable today. Can actually shoot people without chop city making it nearly impossible when there's 40 people left in a tiny circle
