Case closed.Like I said, no need for a list war. Most of those are very lackluster to me. The good news is that 2018 should be better though!
Back to topic, I just want more information about Ghost of Tsushima.

No nintendo, so list is hella lopsided and very dull. I mean fucking David cage and a sotc remaster in the top ten makes 2018 look real anemic.
Praying for bayonetta 3 to save gaming in 2018

Yeah, new protagonist after this.

Respectfully disagree. Not sure how to write this without sounding like a Sony hater. I assure you I'm not, and the PS4 is my main console. Not that the PS4 wouldn't have a lot of titles on that list, but potentially a reason why you see quite a few Sony titles compared to Microsoft/Nintendo is because they announce them so early. Some of their 2018 games were already announced in 2015 and 2016. Nintendo and Microsoft probably have quite a few AAA titles coming out this year that they haven't announced yet, especially Nintendo.
Good list but it is nowhere near last year's list
2017 will be remembered as a legendary year no doubt
It's not just Nintendo that doesn't announce games early. For example, if Todd Howard is going to release Starfield or Elder Scrolls 6 this year (I doubt it but just giving an example), then Bethesda isn't going to announce it until it's like 5 months from release because that's how Bethesda does things. EA could also have Battlefield: Battle Royale coming out in 2018 and not show it until April.
So these lists can get slightly more Sony-heavy than GotY lists as Sony doesn't have many quick turnarounds compared to other publishers.
...But then again, it's just a hype list and not the most serious thing in the world, so it doesn't really matter.
It's a ground up remake of one of the most beloved games of all time, a game which suffered from some significant technical problems.
I think this list is a reflection of what system has the largest user base on this forum and not much else. You can't really make blanket statements like ps4 is killing it or Xbox/switch is lagging when this list is just a popularity contest in a forum comprised mostly of ps4 owners.
I have no issues with the list whatsoever and I enjoy these threads. Some of you trying to find a deeper meaning are looking in the wrong place though.
I don't think it is that either. It is just a reflection of what games are the most anticipated. Glad to see some games we are publishing on that list! I backed up Bloodstained on Kickstarter and I am now working in the company that is publishing it! :D Good and busy times!
Not to pick on this post specifically, but what's with the sour grapes from some people? It's not ResetEra's fault Nintendo keeps things till the last minute. And if you look at that list and see "dull", then I can't help but feel sorry you have such narrow, limited tastes in gaming.
The new Pokemon hasn't been officially announced yet, as in an actual title card.Don't see this announcing games early as an issue for the other 2 when one is a worst offender. Ninendo is a little better, but only if Pokemon and Metroid hit 2018, if not then they're falling in the same hole as Sony and MS with announcing and releasing too far apart from each other.
I don't get it myself. Go look at any YouTube video this list isn't far off if not spot on has nothing to do with some Sony era which is what ppl really are trying to sayI don't think it is that either. It is just a reflection of what games are the most anticipated. That is it.
Which 14 Heisen...answer carefully14 of the games in the top 20 are day one buys, with 3 being games I'll get if they review well
Dreams and Days Gone are 2 of the 3 :P
Random YouTube videos likely have the same exclusion criteria. After this week games like Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3 et al probably become part of the discussion in those too.I don't get it myself. Ehh, I love my video games and I felt 2017 was just as great as so many others did.
That top 20 list there to me is pretty anemic.
MS already have three major titles for this year. That isn't to say they don't have more, but there was representation for them. Also, "year of Sony" =/= "not the year of Nintendo/MS".I have to say, this "Year of Sony" wank going on is a bit embarrassing. Like, you guys realize Nintendo and possibly Microsoft haven't revealed their lineups yet, right?
I do agree they seem on track to having another great year though. Hopefully GoW turns out better than it looks.
The top 20 has a lot of things I'd likely be hyped for if I'd played their predecessors so if anything it makes my backlog heftier with all the catching up I have to do (I've never played RDR!) and it makes me really curious to see how the top 20 turns out. Dragon Quest and Octopath are day 1 buys though. I remember being really into the idea of Days Gone so maybe that hype will come back.
Well, games becoming more anticipated once they're announced or a release date is set is kind of part of the game.Random YouTube videos likely have the same exclusion criteria. After this week games like Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3 et al probably become part of the discussion in those too.

Roman numerals...learn to read them. :D
I gladly to be a fan of KH series. That list is perfect to me.People calling a list with fucking Kingdom Hearts III included in it dull.
