Oh shit, whatever happened to that guy?
He left indiedev gaf long ago.
I think he didn't got out of indiedev gaf what he thought he would (after
releasing Chopper Mike). I can be wrong. Seems he better got along with
his twitter account, but nothing much either considering Chopper Mike++ or
similar. He may just be too involved with any of Codemasters games (Dirt
comes to mind).

Anyhow. I liked talking to him on gaf. We had some good fun for over a year
or so! Razu, what are you up to?

Edit: btw; OT2 was the best. Huge diversity. Many active devs.
I once run through OT1 and OT2 during OT3 and mailed many of the lost souls
and asked them what happened to them and their games/projects. The
quintessence of many who replied back to me was simply that reality had caught
up on them. And some promised to be more active again. But the only one
who really did was as just V_Arnold.

I care! I'm trying to post more in here to keep things active :)
It's way more fun to dev when there's a community

Speaking of which...

Day 4: Not a new asset per se, but some work done on a normals editor/visualizer.

I decided today I'm shifting my game a little bit more towards survival horror. I don't know what gave me this idea. I guess I'm just in a cruel mood, haha. So instead of wounds as an abstract concept with a single meter, blunt attacks bruise and sprain your body causing you to be less effective at fighting, and cutting attacks will cause you to bleed out unless you perform a healing spell or bandage the wounds. And the bandages stack up until you rest at a checkpoint! Special thanks to Jobbs for ruminating with me over the details and offering a bunch of suggestions. I'll post bandaging animations when I have them :)

Same, think I've gotten a bit too reliant on Discord to keep up with projects haha.
Right? Discussion is definitely heavier over there, but I can make time for both if I just remember.

Same here, or rather I don't post any graphical updates on what I'm doing :/ Not sure if anyone cares, but still :)
I care! I like when a lot of different people post here.

I'm generally too old and tired and technically oriented to think much of PR and publicity, especially considering a fluff "coming this year" article, but it kind of tickles that Deep Sky Derelicts got mentioned in close proximity to Monster Hunter. :p

Before the holidays I had a few weeks of pretty bad crunch trying to get the update ready, and in the final days we found a weird XP gain bug which was left unresolved because I couldn't figure it out in reasonable time. Now after a week of rest I took another look at it and solved the stupid bug in five minutes. So there's your regular reminder to not work too hard.

I think most of you guys must have seen it, but it seens Adobe bought Mixamo, and they have like a billion animations and rigs at their websites for free now. Seens you can use them in any project you want.

Looks great. Lovely art style.

Might I suggest, if possible, that the following tower erects much faster, to make gameplay more continuous? The delay, to me, looks ever-so-slightly uncomfortably long. I think people like quicker flowing gameplay on mobile. I may be wrong.

Thanks for the feedback, you are right the platforms could rise a faster but the game is actully quite slow-based in itself so I don't think its issue when you are actually playing the game. After each landing you have to aim quite carefully to reach the next helipad, so you kinda have to take your time anyway :)

Yes, these are pretty amazing, we are using few mixamo animations in our other game that is in development. Also quite easy to mix animations by just cutting them shorted in unity and blending them. not ideal but really fast :)

Hey yall! Just wanted to drop in here to spread the word about my recent game. It's called CROSSNIQ and it's a free browser puzzle game (also win/mac/linux if you'd like) that's been described as a cross between a Rubik's cube and Bejeweled. It's speed/score based and works with mouse/touch or gamepad. I was really inspired by a bunch of late 90's puzzle games and the look/sound of Japanese games from that era when making this. Hope you like it!

Nice! Aesthetically this does take me back to stuff like Bombastic, DDR 5th Mix, and Mr. Driller, so I think you nailed it.

Had fun playing it this morning, had some lumines vibe going on!

Decided to make a brief timelapse of the procedural generation doing its work, something I haven't really shown in my other videos (sort of difficult to get across)

Any good books to read about general programming wisdom (problem solving mindset, etc)?

I'm working with BASIC at the moment and planning to transfer over to something more modern in the near future, so I'd love to pick up a good book and do some reading in-between.

Still work in progress but I wanted to have a projectile based enemy (dark magic user) in the game and started working on one today. Time for me to get some much needed shut eye though -_-

I'm so glad you all like CROSSNIQ!!

I'm gearing up for a Kickstarter for an enhanced version called CROSSNIQ+... do you know of any puzzle communities or sites that might be good places to spread the word?
