Neither of them are amazing. Pop Tarts probably win out of convenience. They're a simple go-to thing whether you heat them or not. Toaster Strudels can be better, but you have to nail the preparation. Since they're stored frozen, you can end up having cold spots, they can wind up soggy, or get easily burnt.

This is the correct answer.

Don't know about Toaster Strudels but Pop Tarts were the first thing I tried when I moved to the states back in 2008 and I immediately hated them with a burning passion.

Pop tarts look like they were made in one of those factories, where they have a big pop tart "board", and they are just stamped out. Like how they make computer chips and such. They are to be eaten by living beings for sustenance.

Strudels look like they were made by humans, for humans.

The Wal-mart brand generic Brown Sugar and Cinnamon "pop-tarts" sustained me through early mornings in high school, and I will be forever grateful for that. I've had maybe two Toaster Strudels in my life and they were both just okay. So Kyle's game makes perfect sense to me.

In my later years, I've given up on breakfast all together and I've been much happier since. American breakfast it basically dessert and I hope and pray we all realize this and stop eating waffles with whipped cream and calling it a meal.

Toaster Strudel and Pop Tart are both very descriptive names. As someone not from the US who has no idea what those words represent, I know toaster strudels are a really dumb invention for lazy people with no taste in food. Pop Tarts sound like they could be unhealthy but tasty.

This is super late, but I just want to say listening to Huber say "PITCH IT" is the best.

I'm hoping for a more in depth deliberation for the Easy Allies Awards, more akin to what happens in Giant Bomb.

Probably not their style though.

Q&A is up.

"The parents are gone" has never been more apt for the group that was able to get together for it lol.

It'll probably be similar style but scaled way back obviously. Doesn't GB post like 5 3 hour shows worth of deliberations?

I was excited for Trailer Jones until I saw the execution. That wasn't really $45k-worthy. Over skype with not so great microphones? Nah. For such a high goal I expect them to come together and discuss the trailer in person. Or the trailers. That's another thing. I always liked it more, when they discussed several trailers at once ("Let's go all to the Trailers" style) and the description of the goal on Patreon makes it sound like it would be exactly that:

Yeah, Trailer Jones just didn't hit the spot for me, at all. There's no reason at all why that's a $45k goal - it just seems to be there for the sake of having something at $45k.

Hopefully an intern of some description becomes a goal at some point. Someone who can maybe do some editing, produce things to a higher standard even, and free up everyone else's time for their shows / reviews etc..

Well no, it's there because people asked for it. I don't know if there is still an interest for it, but it was the most requested thing to add on top of their initial goals.

Hope not

This was my first gb goty deliberations and it was... not good

Whatever Brad and Jeff pushed, won
Haven't listen to this year goty podcasts. Only a few categories in.

They're usually very intense while remaining respectful for the most part. Debates are encouraged and majority voting is frowned upon or straight up not allowed. Almost like a jury, they have to come to an agreement as a group.

Another great Easy Update, I hope Ian ends up making one for each ally. That tease at the end for next week's, lol.

The new betting system isn't well balanced, doesn't even mesh well with the rights and responsibilities shtick. But hey, it's better than the previous one and I appreciate that Kyle did the research before being wrong :p

More gold from the podcast:
  • Ian asking if Dynasty Warriors was a musou game, it's like if someone asked if Dark Souls was a souls game.
  • Jones not calling remakes remakes because that one remake went above and beyond.
Edit: I like the idea of Ian's Torture Chamber. I wanted Ian to force allies to play things they wouldn't play. Kyle's should've been a context-free meta game with memes.
My only reference for pop tarts is the nyan cat.
Same. But I assume they would taste too artificially sweet and gross.

Akatsuki should've been the team name. I laughed so hard when Kyle said that name, especially due to how sudden it was.
It wasn't so sudden for me because you posted about it before :(

(I still laughed, no hard feelings.)

Watching the Patron Q&A video. Always adore these. I got to the part about the Wizard's Dinner Party. I NEED that dinner with Huber, Jesus, Moses, and Mark Cerny moderating.

Was that part of the latest podcast where Kyle said, after Brandon said he and Kyle don't get on, "That's a bit" a bit? I feel like those two really do hate each other and Bosman only said it was a bit to try save face.

I'll tell you this for nothing; had "The Meme Monkeys" been drawn out of the hat as the name for the team I'd stop watching the podcast for the year.

Ian has a really nice idea with this easy update, I would be down for a full series.

See that's the biggest problem with the betting format Kyle chose. If he had gone with my idea of Team Kyle vs. Team Brandon we could've had both Meme Monkeys and Akatsuki at the same time :(

And no, the only bad blood between the allies is Ian's hate for Kyle.

For real? Again with this "does X ally hate Y ally?" stuff? There are still people who honestly think Kyle's breakdown in that Easy Update was not acting, and it's exasperating.

Let me put it this way: I find it exceptionally unlikely that two people who hate (or even dislike) each other would voluntarily choose to sit down in a garage and build models together for 4.5 hours on a regular basis, when there are so many other things they could choose to do with their time.

Seriously!

I'm hoping it is otherwise I would lose hope in humanity (if I had any left to lose of course).

Are these bits?

They get paid to do that, it's an obligation. People work with people they hate constantly.

Kyle and Brandon don't get paid specifically to sit down with each other and build models together for hours on end. They could easily find other outlets, away from each other, which would still justify the Patreon money they receive.

Of course it's a bloody bit. Good grief!

I agree about Easy Update. That Torture Chamber idea is great and should be it's own show. Maybe not so intricate as Ian's designs, just make an Ally play a game they hate.

Does Huber hate any games? Does Huber hate anything for that matter? Other than Ben, obviously...

I was a bit fan of this Q & A video. With fewer people it was a more streamlined experience and they actually managed to answer all of the questions. After this video I would honestly like to see them do two Q & A videos a month with 4 allies being on each video.

I do enjoy the Pop Tart section of the podcast whenever it shows up; it's nice to hear the gang's individual takes on upcoming games and I find it useful as a personal hype-check for the coming months. I enjoyed the 2008 game, but then I'd enjoy any game which mentioned Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.

Heard this in the Q&A, does anyone have a link for when Damiani finds out Becky?

I just played VR Chat...It feels like if Second Life and PlayStation Home had a kid. The avatars are cool. In my opinion, the people are horrible. Was swore at and harassed. Maybe that Godzilla avatar was right when he said that I was not playing it the correct way.

Anyway, Toaster Strudels are far superior to Pop Tarts.
