I hit 6K Dusty Tokens last night. Now all I need to do are Treasure Hunts. Mainly for the last pieces of furniture I need and that one damn emote I can't seem to find

Finished the game.

For real this time. I thought chapter 21 would be a quick chapter and that I was at/near the end of the game, but there was like a quarter of the game remaining haha. That was an interesting finale, and I liked getting some closure on Kat and her story. I felt the final boss dragged on for a bit too long, but the final segment where you control the camera was pretty emotional.

I feel kind of sad that it's over, but I still have a lot of optional content that I can do, so there's that. Great game. I hope we'll get a sequel in the future, even if it's next gen. </3

I'm missing one more gesture. I'm guessing I'll get it from treasure chests? It's one of the ones on the third page of gestures. I'll still be logging in daily to do treasure hunts for the furniture, so hopefully I get it soon.

Can you get dupes with the treasure hunts? Or is it just a matter of hunting them all down?

I don't believe you can get duplicates, though not all treasure hunts will give you an item so maybe that's just the game's way of handling duplicate rolls. In any case, you can't have more than one of any piece of furniture anyways, so the game wouldn't give you a duplicate item in that sense. Same goes for gestures.

Talismans, on the other hand, I don't know.

How far into the game is it when you get furniture for treasure hunts? When are they shutting down the servers too?

Not sure when you start getting furniture, but the servers shut down on the 18th. Still plenty of time, though.

A few helpful hints for farming: each treasure hunt you do is 80 tokens, but each treasure you help someone else find based on your photo is 220 points. So it's really in your best interest to take as good a photo as possible when sending out treasure hunts! Remember that you can fly out a short distance from the treasure to take a more zoomed-out photo.

If you're farming challenges, know that you can only get tokens from a specific person only so many times (I think it's once or twice per 12-hour period) so it doesn't actually help to do the same person's challenges multiple times in a short period. I think you're also limited to 50 total challenges from friends per 12-hour period, but you can definitely hit 6000 tokens without accepting nearly that many challenges so it's not really worth worrying about.

Some challenges allow you to tie other people in the results (any time limit battle lets you do this); if you tie someone else for 1st, you both get 50 tokens. If you tie more than one person for 1st (because multiple people sent you the same challenge), you get 50 tokens for each player you tie!

Finished the game.

I think someone mentioned earlier that one or two items are locked behind specific side quests. Worth checking to see if your missing gesture is among them.

Can't wait to start playing this game tonight

What's with all this photo sharing talk? Is that necessary to play the campaign? I really have no interest in multi player interactions

Been very unlucky so far on this, I've sent out 23 photos, 0 people have used/gotten my photos and found any treasures so far.

One thing I've heard but cannot confirm is that if you have people on your friends list that also play GR2, treasure hunt photos you send out tend to go to them instead of strangers. Not sure if that's true, but I got a bunch of treasure hunt results come back to me yesterday.

Look up the Dusty Farming 2.0 community on PSN and add a bunch of people, that's a good way to get started. At the very least, you'll start getting a lot more challenges that way. Feel free to add me too, I'll send out some challenges/photos tonight.

The campaign is fully playable even after the online servers go down, so if you don't care about the extra costumes, furniture, etc. then feel free to ignore all of it. That said, the multiplayer interactions are very low-impact and it's very easy to do only as much as you want to. If you're at all curious, try a treasure hunt and see if you like it. It's easily the most interesting part of the online stuff and each hunt only takes you a few minutes at most.

Is there any chance they'll unlock this stuff for everyone once they bring the servers down? The more I think about it the more I don't like missing out on the stuff. Maybe I'll just put my Trails playthrough on hold and work on GR 1 & 2.

You don't have to farm. Just get them as you play. You should be able to get 6000 in like a week at most.

This. I was going out of my way to get them at first, but it wasn't necessary. I ended up finishing with WAY more dusty tokens than I needed, and I still need to do more treasure hunts for the furniture.

Eight treasure hunts a day gets you 640 tokens, and that's with doing absolutely no actual farming (unless you consider the act of just doing a treasure hunt to be farming!). Once you start sending out and doing challenges, you'll also start getting tokens from other people finishing your challenges or finding treasures from your photos.

I too was worried about the token stuff, but it only took me two or three days and maybe three hours of gameplay (much of which was also spent looking for gems to get the last two trophies). It's not too bad.

Thanks for you input! I see, I will keep playing; I'm 9 hours in and haven't been able to play this week, so I hope it is a productive weekend for this game :p

I know it's not very likely but I hope we do get a third game one day. I'd love to see an older Kat (older than 17 anyway) and Raven with all of your powers kept this time. A lot of games tend to depower you at the beginning of each sequel but fuck that. Kat is strong as hell so just make the next threat even stronger. Introduce another Shifter that kicks her shit in and build a rivalry as good as Dante/Vergil. More emphasis on teamwork with Raven would be so cool. I'm thinking something like the Elika combos in Prince of Persia 06.

When did we learn Kat's age again?

EDIT: And Raven's older? Wha..... Yea that makes sense.

Yeah Kat's a baby. It kind of surprised me since some characters call her a grown woman.

I've read somewhere (at the GR Wiki I think?) that Raven is supposed to be around 18 years old. Kind of weirded me out, because I had her pegged at being around her mid-twenties.

But I guess her (and Kat's) age is not all that surprising if seen as just another case of that "everyone above 20 is ancient" concept more Japanese games have going on.

Syd is practically an old man! The person who's age surprised me the most though is Chaz. Isn't he like 17 in the first game. Now he's like 20 but looks and sounds 30.

Kat's called unattractive in the first game too. Poor girl needs a boyfriend. Her crush on Newt was cute.

Fun fact: when she transports Newt around in the first game, there are small collections of gems to collect on the way. The last one she flies through with Newt was actually heart shaped:

Nothing comes of it of course, especially not in GR2. Then again, who needs a boyfriend when you have Raven?

Turns out I was remembering Chaz incorrectly the whole time. I could've sworn he was this one douche student from the first game. I think he's in a couple of side missions. The guy was a total dick to Kat.

I wish you could lift those people up and throw them into the depths, but alas, mission givers and NPCs with dialogue are rooted to the floor. Otherwise that old dude with the photos would've been on his way to Lei Elgona faster than he could say 'hot diggity'.

Actually, one of the best moments in Remastered was when you confront that stalker guy at the end of the Spy Pack. You pick him up to deliver him to the police and he immediately starts rambling about his love for Kat. The game was daring you to let him fall.

Dude didn't even last a second in my playthrough. Enjoy the ride down, sucker.

Who was a dick? That student or Chaz? Because I liked Chaz. The consummate professional type. I don't think he was even aware Kat was trying to flirt with him.

The student. I think it was a random blonde dude from a side mission that Kat would argue with. I don't even remember Kat hitting on Chaz lol.
