Yeah they're mfi cablesIf starting fresh fixes the issue then it is probably an issue from previous phones in your backup.
Are you buying MFI cables?

I think you need to whitelist the site in your safari content blockerCan't see those embedded twitter links using mobile safari.
Someone posted about that in this thread couple of weeks ago.
Any known solutions?
Thanks
What do these mean again? I know the cables on its way out because they start to only charge from one side, but what exactly does it mean?
The Plus has a wider screen than the X, so you do lose screen real estate.I got an iPhone 8+ when it first released using the Apple Upgrade program. But I really wish I had waited and gotten an X. I love how small they are without losing any screen real estate.
What!? I didn't know this! The Plus has a wider screen than the X, so you do lose screen real estate.
You didn't think you could have a larger screen size with the a smaller frame, did you? Edge to edge the phone is larger. However, it's at the expense of phone width. X is still a gorgeous phone and feels really nice in the hands (ladies).
Anecdotally, one of the bigger selling points I've heard behind the X > 8+ has been "the phone is smaller but the screen is bigger." I guess it's true in someways, but not completely. Good to know.

I get that argument and I defend it myself. What I'm saying is that I'd be in favour or spreading those sensors in the notch more thinly over the whole width, if that would be possible. Otherwise yeah, it would be pointless, but then fix the status bar with software. Let it be below the ears. Because it's an ironically negative side effect of creating more real estate.Of course we'd rather not have the notch. But I prefer it over the other solutions. It's extra screen space. Apple could just black out the whole horizontal area the notch occupies, but they didn't. That's what the other companies do, essentially.

You get a bigger diagonal. That's different from bigger screen because the aspect ratios are different. I think the Plus' display is still larger in area. It's not as wide but you get a bigger screen overall. 5.5" vs 5.8"

Seeing rumors of a February reveal, but I've been seeing CES reveal rumors for months.

The leaks are looking like it'll be an incremental update from the S8, the way the S7 was from the S6.

i just feel like I'm not on top of my phone's status so much anymore - i.e. if it kicked into DND or not, if it has bluetooth headphones paired, if it's still connected to the VPN, and so forth - without swiping up and down frequently.
So tomorrow's the last day you can add AppleCare+ if you received your X on launch.
Honestly not sure what to do. I'm most likely going to upgrade again this year and I use both case/screen protector, so I should be good until the 2018 phones come out. But then again, shit happens.
No problems on my end.
Not that strange, you likely just had an app running in the background that wasn't turning off. Perhaps something using location services? So my iPhone X was acting really strange yesterday. It was always hot to the touch and the battery drained in less than 4 hours. It then wouldn't charge past 90%. I turned it off and on again and it seems to have fixed the problem. It's no longer hot and the battery life is back to being excellent. How strange
I have background app refresh turned off and location services off when not using the app. So not sureNot that strange, you likely just had an app running in the background that wasn't turning off. Perhaps something using location services?
That's the True Tone setting. It changes the tone of the screen depending on the lighting in the environment. You can turn it off somewhere in the Settings.
i've been getting a lot of straight up freezes lately. the phone becomes completely unusable including the home bar. first time since launch.
It should prompt you for your Passcode if Face ID fails the auth. Just tried myself, tapping a notification while being face covered and a "Use Passcode" button appears in the middle of the screen followed by the digit pad when it fails. So I have this really dumb question. If Face ID is not working (due to my position, clothing or whatever else) how can I read my lockscreen notifications?
But then I will pop right into the app of that notification, right? It should prompt you for your Passcode if Face ID fails the auth. Right I misread your original post, you're talking about the attention aware reveal of extra info in a notification. Yeah I think those only work with authenticated Face ID.But then I will pop right into the app of that notification, right?
