hey y'all

I've been working on something for a while now, a VR action game named Horizon Vanguard:



Released a demo back at the start of September, got help and advice along the way from this thread's spiritual predecessor.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's updates and posting some of my own!

Hope to be more active in this thread this time around!

My boy Vas and I are working on a game. We'll probably post a bunch of gameplay clips soon.

Can't wait to see everyone's projects!

Glad to see you guys are still at it!

Yeah, report button is too big and in a strange postion hahaha I always tend to go an click it as waypoint's like button and its a Nooooo, phew! hahaha

I wonder if embedding YouTube for better framerate will partially replace GIFs here.
I'm looking through the resources list on XenForo and it looks like there's add-on for stuff like Imgur GIFV and Gfycat. Might be able to have built-in support instead of me writing another browser extension.

Also OP can you add Jukedeck to your list of procedurally generated assets? It's a procedural music generator and it's actually really fucking good (although a bit too predictable in some genres).

Great looking game man. And it looks like we're in a similar position of launching our games in 1-2 weeks. How're you marketing? So far I've just made forum posts and reached out to one or two new sites. I'm thinking about just throwing all of my marketing budget at keymailer.

whoa, these are both really impressive

i also like that i can quote multiple long posts without worrying about taking up a massive amount of screen space

While we were decording our asses into resetera, I also worked a lil on my
custom DoF implemenration, that is to say the background blur now depends on
the focal length, i.e. increases with increasing focal length and vice versa;

Good to see everyone I can remember from the old thread is here. Was worried that IndieGAF was going to scatter to the winds from the kind of posts I saw the past three days.

I'll have some good new content to show of Azure Jaegers, Red Foxes to show here soon, and maybe a playable Alpha-build to put up for some critique.

(Also, apologies to anyone who can't remember me and is confused. I went under the name CertifiedFP before, and AJ,RF was just "REDFOXES" back then while I was still trying to come up with a full name for it.)

I think I'm gonna make a blog video today. I've been meaning to do it for the last couple of days, but got a little lazy. Made a bit of progress with the game, but still fairly far off. Hope I'm able to get more done over the next month or so.

Let me ask you guys for advice on a simple thing for my game. It's a mobile game where you are a frog trying to eat things. There is food and there are obstacles. I'm gonna do a combo system for the food where your multiplier increases for each creature you eat. The multiplier resets if you wait too long for the next food or you miss a shot. If you hit an obstacle you get damage. Now you can also catch food and hit an obstacle in the same shot, so I want to ask: do you think it's better to reset the multiplier if I hit an obstacle in the same shot as catching food, or let it increase and have just the damage as a penalty ? Do you understand what I mean? lol

Dynamite Shikoku If taking damage doesn't reset the multiplier if you catch food at the same time you could see that as encouraging people to take damage in certain situations. It adds a risk/reward mechanic. I'd try it out.

This was a fun surprise for me when it was announced; I figured your next release was still years off with how silent you were. Any idea when we'll get to hear more on the game?

Yeah, risk reward I would say. That's what I'm doing as well for Superstall,
for the aircraft gets damage up until it breaks apart.

In other news, I made a ladybird. Do you reckon there would be like any insect fans that would get triggered it only has 4 legs instead of 6? 6 is cramped.
