I want to know this too, I love the artstyle of the game, and I like roguelikes
I wish they didn't lock the update for backers only.
If you're referring to Metacritic's list, that's because most outlets reviewed the PS4 version. That's often a problem with Vita games. Even if the releases are identical (which isn't the case with Ys VIII, but bare with me) with no performance issues, if a review doesn't specify Vita it doesn't get added to the page.
It's basically Senran Kagura only with a better combo system. And good boss fights.
I thought it was fun, but held back by the relative small size of the Vita screen and the cramped controls. Made it hard to see what was going on and what I was doing.

Just had a quick check on Amazon.jp, price of Vita consoles is about 2000 yen higher than I paid for it earlier this year. There were also no 64GB memory cards in stock from Amazon themselves so they couldn't ship overseas.
Was gonna buy an extra model, but guess not. Is this just low stock based on new year's sales or...?

The Western copies have a shared list between PS4/Vita. Only the Asia and JP lists are separate among consoles.
If you're a fan of the anime it's really good! If not, it might actually be kinda boring.

I look at this list, great list by the way, and feel disappointed that the West didn't get the PSP ports of Star Ocean First Departure and Second Evolution on Vita.
Second Evolution would have definitely made my list. Funnily enough, most of the Square Enix PSP games I did actually play aren't on PSN for whatever reason.
Star Ocean 2 could've made the Vita-native list if they'd let me play it in English.

Finally finished all of Va-11 Hall-A's endings and it was a beautiful game! I loved my time with it so much and it just felt so right on the Vita. Glad I waited, totally worth it! :D
They have several pre-orders listed for the Vita as "coming soon" that are never happening. If it's not announced by now, it's not happening.

VD is great, no idea where he's coming from with the small screen/controls thing. I don't think that's anyone else's experience.

For what it's worth, I had the same with Senran Kagura Estival Versus. Bought it for the Vita first, then switched to the PS4 version. The difference in ease of play was huge. At least, to me it was.
Personally I prefer button mashers on console. Easier to replace a worn out controller than a whole Vita. I'll probably play VD on VitaTV for that reason. I didn't mind Senran Kagura on Vita, but I was glad Estival had cross-save, I plat'd the PS4 version transferred my save and the Vita plat only took like 3 hours.

I would love to tell you to have some faith in a physical release, JUST to see what your reaction would be. I have a feeling you've been burnt before. However, I'm fine with a wait and see approach.

Yea it was a long wait but I loved it. I did 1 ending on my macbook on release then knew it would be worth waiting for vita. got vita. did all endings. game went straight to the top of my GOTY list for 2017. and wrote about it. bought 2 copies of the JP physical. I hope LRG lets me buy 10 (not even kidding) of the English version.
I need to get a USA Copy of this. Where did you order it from? Amazon seems to be sold out barring third party sellers and those are uusally EU stock for pqube games. Play asia maybe?First Vita purchase of the year!
