Holy crap, I thought I was sensitive. My brother, you have an unpopular stance on the subject and that's fine. Attributing being called out on it to the "hook-nosed lawyers that control the media" stereotype because someone used the word "propaganda" is a bit of a reach imo, but if you're offended by it, better to say why so at least we can understand your sensitivities
I already did. See here...
dismissing our perspectives and lived experiences as propaganda is very problematic to me. It also implicitly (albeit perhaps unintentionally) draws on ingrained stereotypes of Jewish deceit and media control.
To put it another way, my people are constantly (and I do mean *constantly*) accused of exaggerating our suffering for personal or political gain. Almost every time one of us claims something is antisemitic or otherwise oppressive, we are met with eye rolls and strenuous declarations that the speaker is "not an antisemite". And yes, this is deeply infuriating, not only because it's hypocritical (this behavior would never fly with any other minority, but progressives/anti-racists have no qualms doing it to us), but also because it stems from the subconscious, age-old stereotype that we are inherently untrustworthy, thus unreliable narrators of our own lived experiences. Overall, we have the right to name our own reality, and when a Jew claims antisemitism, that can't be brushed aside so easily.
Imagine if another minority group complained of racism, but I dismissed it as "propaganda". How do you think they would react to that? How would you react?
instead of simply reporting the post to the mods ESPECIALLY when you know you you have an unpopular opinion that's being referenced.
The only person I reported was Farooq.
