Yeah, that was pretty bad. Weird how Lisa and the others also didn't notice a thing. If Vogo could see Kat getting close to a dummy so he could trip them, the others could've seen them mysteriously fall over everytime she got close as well.

I looked the mission up to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong when I did it, because I did not want to redo the mission if I wasn't supposed to fail it.
Got up to chapter 13 earlier. I'll try to play a couple more chapters before I go to sleep. I'm at around 4000 dusty tokens. If nothing else, I'm glad I got to do the treasure hunts before the servers went down. Those have largely been a lot of fun.
How important is the Gravity Rush Overture animation ? I enjoyed watching it anyways because the characters are great and the animation is really good, but how much does it tie into the plot?
Woohoo got all my Dusty Tokens. That didn't take too long. I still have the final story mission to complete too. I was afraid I'd be grinding these things long after I beat the game. No grinding necessary.
Unrelated question. Is it worth investigating the gravity storms? I don't really like going to mining sites and the talismans I get are never too great.
Edit: What the hell is the difference between Shifter 1.0 and 2.0. I think 2.0 has poofier shorts but that seems to be it. Why is this 5000 Dusty Tokens? I wish I still had my Spy Kat from the Vita.

Played a little bit today. Right off the bat the game feels better to control, and just has overall more polish than the first game. I'm sure there were many people that were annoyed by the tutorial section, but I'm kinda digging Kat working for this mining company lol

I think my dislike for the intro stems from the fact that I just completed Remastered like two weeks ago. So I sort of immediately went from Remastered's "all powers maxed" endgame to GR2's "press OPTION to open the menu".

It basically provides a bit of background for why Kat is where she is in the beginning, and it scratches the surface behind what the main villain is doing.

It's kinda funny how at first I was stressing about Dusty Token costumes before realizing they were the worst alt costumes out there. I'm pretty much running White Kat/PSO/2B/Spy Kat/Military Kat/Dark Angel costumes most of the time. Work Gear Kat is the best one of them as a casual costume at only 300 DT required but School/GR1 costumes are too similar to GR2 ones to really matter.
The side mission with the dog and the frisbee wasn't even that bad. It didn't took me long to find the kid the first time, and the second time I pretty much figured out immediately where she was. For the frisbee throwing part, I missed the first spot ± four times in a row, but then it changed spot and I missed none of my throws after.
I saw when you get the Lunar style before it happened, but nothing too important yet. Oh, and
the robot dropped into the marketplace.
On the subject of outfits, there's still the difference in hairstyles as well between School 1.0 and 2.0. If I were to choose, I consider the PSO one the worst one.
While the Dusty Tokens are important, be sure to do the treasure chest hunting for furniture which can be done in the later episodes.
Seems like the treasure chests can be done offline but finding them is difficult since there is no treasure detector, random spots (but are placed in a general area) and you have to search everywhere (all the cities).

I beat the game. I loved the game. My only criticisms are that it has too many sidequests that ruin the pacing of the story if you do them as you get them and that the combat is a bit wonky at times like the first game. The side missions could've really been trimmed down. A lot of them were great but a lot of them also made me question who's bright idea it was to make that a fucking mission. I love how they make the world feel more personal. The camera fucks with the combat a lot at times but when the combat works, it fucking works. The aerial battles in this game can sometimes be so fucking good, especially some of the endgame boss fights. Speaking of endgame bossfights,
TETSUOOOOOOOOOO!
The ending felt a bit abrupt but overall, great game. Better in pretty much every way to the first. I guess all I really have left to do is collect a few more gestures and furniture. I highly doubt I'll get all the gems. I swear there's like hundreds of thousands of them. Oh and mining maybe. Mining kinda sucks.
Just discovered my third random treasure apple. Took a picture and uploaded it... only to get a network error. Apple goes poof and I get to wave goodbye to my 80 tokens.
PS4 just came out of rest mode and apparently it doesn't bother to connect to the internet if you don't go back to the dashboard first.
Edit:
On the bright side: someone finally solved one of my treasure hints! 220 tokens in the pocket, hell yeah.

Pacing is pretty much my biggest gripe with it. I think maybe having each story mission finish with a bit more closure so in between stuff feels more like some down time would have helped though also tricky for later portions I guess.
I thought the ending and closing segments were fantastic.
Wait... You've finished the final part as well right not just chapter 20? I thought the game finished there the first time. If you haven't, go back and avoid my spoilers!
The way you play as Raven in the closing segment was really bitter sweet. How everyone misses Kate, the school kids all loving and cheering Raven as she flies past thinking her the one who saved the city is something Kate always secretly wanted but never really got except perhaps for a short time at the end of GR1.
The way they bring up your photos during the credit roll was great too as you realise a lot of the silly quest photos were added to remind us that we were there and we did that!
That seems like a dumb design. I always power off unless I am downloading stuff. Does it connect again once when it realised the game tried to make a connection and failed?
ffrhh
I'm still salty as fuck I didn't get the outfits from the Remastered data. I had the first game for the PS4, but I had traded it in, and on top of that, I deleted the save data because I didn't know GR2 would reward you for having it.
In the months leading up to GR2, I quickly realized that Gravity Rush is the type of game I should've never sold to begin with, so GR2 is staying with me for life.

Nope. It connected to the internet only when I returned to the dashboard so it could load all the social stuff which appears beneath the game's icon.
This happened to me earlier during an actual treasure mission. Before I could find the treasure I had to go to the supermarket real quick and put the PS4 in rest mode. No problem for the mission, which was still active when I came back. But when I tried to take a picture, I got a network error and the apple went poof.
It's weird that the PS4 doesn't connect to the internet automatically, even if you're still in-game after returning from rest mode. But it's also strange that the game doesn't offer you another chance when you receive such an error.

Finally learning about Kat's past and Syd/Alias was so satisfying.
Now that the game is over I feel kinda sad. That's how I know a game and its characters are good. The world is so empty without the other characters. I wish they would walk around living their lives once the game is over.
Popped in my GR2 disc and got around 800 Dusty tokens today. Is there a limited amount of treasure hunts? I don't really want to get the tokens through taking pictures.

Finally got all of the photo items and furniture today, so I'll probably slow down with the online stuff.
Since I'm putting so much effort in I kind of want to platinum this game now, but the only two trophies I have left are the ones for collecting gems and upgrading Kat's powers... so close, yet still so far :(
Some of them can still be found in the world. IIRC I found Raven post-game standing in front of some kind of meat booth, and got great photos out of it. Some sidequest characters will come up to you randomly to talk about what happened after their missions, too, and this still happened to me a long time after I had finished everything, while exploring the world to complete my photo collection.
Hmm, I don't think there is any limitation (post-game at least). Got 7 treasure hunt notifications today and did 5 of them (the other two were in Lei Elgona, lol). An 8th treasure hunt notification came in after playing for a few hours. In that same session, I also came across a treasure that I wasn't notified about (and also wasn't making any sounds IIRC). This happened to me twice already in the past few days, so it seems these might keep spawning even without the servers, giving people an opportunity to collect the rest of the photo items and furniture, although they will be much harder to find.

Oh that's awesome. I did have Chaz walk up to me out of nowhere to talk to tell me some depressing shit but I thought it was scripted. Some characters from previous side missions also called me over but I'm not sure if that was part of some mission I was doing where I had to show a Hekseville citizen around Jirga. I was having some fun using emotes on NPCs just now. Some of their reactions are great.
Between winning another challenge that I sent out, four more treasure hunts, finally receiving two of my first photo reviews after previous attempts (went with 2B Kat minus visor doing the You There gesture outside of the Sun Mansion for one, Spy Kat taking a sitting selfie with a duck under a Lei Havina gazebo for the other), and rating someone else's photo, I'm now at 5,045 tokens as of my second week playing and just unlocked Shifter 1.0. Still need to get to Episode 14 to start collecting furniture, though.
Now that I have finally scored "Nice!" reviews for photos, I can verify that those are worth 60 tokens each.
I just found my 4th and 5th random apples shortly after each other. First one at the harbor and I spotted the second one after doing the newspaper challenge in the business area (the one with all the towers).
These also yield gestures and the like (the 4th one gave me the "you there" "wink"gesture), so I wonder if they'll appear more often after the servers go down so you can still collect gestures and furniture.
In terms of Dusty tokens, I just crossed the 4000 mark. I began the day with 3000 tokens, so if I keep this pace I'll be done in two days.
Edit: scratch that, 4200 tokens now. Just won the challenge I issued ten minutes ago.

Yesterday I played the game for a few hours over the course of the entire day and I didn't receive more than the four treasure hunts I got at the start of the day. I can certainly see it as a post-game feature, since at that point you won't have the story missions (and possibly the side missions) to do anymore.
