You can tell they ran out of budget or time with that final level and ending. I have to agree that there's no reason for them to do 3D cut scenes if they're going to cheapen them with no voice work.

Still, this has been one of my most anticipated games ever since it was revealed and now that I've beaten it...hhmm.

I actually didn't mind it being an arena game.

But the final level does feel like a lot to be desired despite always seeking that killer combo throughout.

Do we know if Ruiner did well for Reikon? I'm loving the gameplay, but it is the setting and atmosphere (and the art, music, world building) of the game that makes me wanting more from them, maybe in more expansive games. I wouldn't mind an RPG in this setting/engine, but it'd be much more expensive to produce, I assume.

Just beat it. Man this game is so good.

I was having a rough time on normal difficulty after killing Wizard, but then I realized if I leveled up overload I could basically coast through the game!

Loved the ambience, story, music and gameplay. I need more!

I got the game on Game Pass and have been playing it all afternoon. The game is a lot of fun, I missed playing a solid top down shooter. Reminds me of Hotline Miami with the violence and melee weapons.

Just thought I'd give this game a little bump since it's really well made and deserves a few more plays :)

Playing this now, thanks to Gamepass.

Absolutely loving the atmosphere and it's a great fast paced action game.

They had about 200k sales in July (from the Steam API leak numbers), so yes. You could tell they had a limited budget based on the last 1/3 of the game. The whole thing just left me wanting more (of the world)

It's criminal this game isn't talked about more. It's also on Gamepass... if the Switch port is visually faithful without concessions to framerate I'm going to buy it Day 1

So how do you pull off the finishers?
Feels like they're randomly activating but there's surely got a bit a reason underneath... the Tutorial is pretty awful tbh

It hasn't seemed random in my experience playing on PS4, but at the same time going for them can potentially interrupt your chain by taking too long between kills.

EDIT: It's done by pressing L3 when an enemy has a yellow circle around them.

Oh man, so bummed about this game... I'm trying it on PC and the game is a stutter fest, of two types:

- the game have performance stuttering
- the game have silly visual stutters when you kill someone

The second type is the worst since it doesn't make any sense. I can get the "hit stop" effect if properly done, but this one isn't at all.
The game freeze when you kill someone but then it freeze again when the dead body of the enemy is flying around.
So it hard freeze two times for each enemy,it's heavily distracting and unsettling... such a shame 'cause the game seems fun and the style is great but yeah, I can't stand this.

Such a waste for a bad implemented effect, I don't know what the hell the developers where thinking and how they refused to patch this.
