Looks really good! I'll definitely keep this on my radar in case it ever comes out on PS4.

Deadcells is an amazing game, playing it just feels perfect.

It should be out on Switch and Consoles when it's complete and I'll be double dipping it for switch for sure.

Just tried the post patch version yesterday. Great update imo. Haven't accessed all the new areas yet but I like the new build system. Shields are fun.

Got the two new runes yeseterday, finally. Wall climbing is fun.

Got the Spider rune myself a couple of days ago as well, makes traversal feel even more dynamic, it's great. Been playing every day, it's pretty tough, especially in some of the new areas, but making progress. Finally maxed out the health vial.

I never really dug these type of games (roguelike metroidvanias)... bought this one on a sale fully expecting to refund it after giving it whirl...

boy was I surprised. Incredible game.

Game is great. The first boss was a bit annoying since it has so much HP. Messed up my health vial and died with the boss having like 5% health left.

Interesting to see how long the game remains fun and varied. The movement and mechanics of the game far surpass any metroidvania I have tried. The music is really good too.

The new Foundry update is great for improving on the replay value for those that have "beat" the content there. Basically adds NG+/++/+++ and ways of permanently buffing your weapons. Really good stuff, always find myself dipping back in for another 20 hours every update they bring forth. Incredible game.

Oh hell yeah, all of that looks sweet! Been too busy to play the game, but I really should go back to it. Haven't even beaten that gigantic eyeball boss thing.

I feel like it's impossible for me to know whether I'll actually like any particular one of these action roguelike games. I've tried a bunch of them and the only one I've ever really gotten into has been 20XX.

This game continues to look super cool to me, but I will still probably wait until it has a final release/all the content before jumping in. Has this game a meta progression like rouge legacy? (so not just unlocking more things that could show up, but actually getting stronger each run).

This game is amazing. It's the first roguelikelike to really hook me since Nuclear Throne. I love how each bit of equipment can change up your playstyle so dramatically. And it's nice to have a game like this that encourages quick playthroughs (Gungeon and Isaac take way too long).

I don't think I'm very good at it though! I can get through the first boss somewhat reliably but the very next area murders me every time.

This is mainly why I kinda bounced off Enter the Gungeon after a while. The runs are pretty long and the pace is a little slow for my tastes. Really enjoy the speed Dead Cells allows for.

My next goal in this is is to get the wall jump, but holy shit is it a pain in the arse. Old Sewers are just looking me, fuck those mushroom things.

God damn I love this game, though.

I picked this game up today on sale and it is pretty fantastic! I generally do not play indie games but I have played for about 4 hours today and I am having a blast! The game is tough as nails but also pretty damn rewarding. Anyhow thanks for the recommendation I had never heard of this game but this thread convinced me to pick this game up...

I put 11 hours into this so far, and have loved it the whole time. Can't wait for its full release on consoles!

Great update OP, thanks for sharing. This game would be totally awesome on the Switch, so that news is great.

It's the most time I've put into an early access game.

Just go this today and tried it for the first time. Feel like I'm gonna lose a lot of hours on it. Gonna double dip for the inevitable port on a currently popular video game system.

Might have to jump back in. I hit the end of the current game a couple months ago and haven't touched since.

Will easily double dip on Switch, but I'm waiting on a full release on PC to get back into it. Loved it last year but it was still pretty early.

Truly one of the shocks of 2017. If I made a top 10 list it would be in it and that's saying something for an early access game. High recommendation if you like rogue lites (there is permanent progression), amazing procedural generation, combat that has a real punch you feel every strike. Beautiful graphics oozing with style. Lots of levels and variety. All around A+++ game!

That's exactly my issue with the first boss, I've tried beating him a few times now and the fight always goes the same, like clockwork: I have no issue getting it down to 25% health, then he enters super enrage and destroys me. The biggest issue I have is that getting it down to 25% takes forever, making the fight very frustrating. It's a shame because otherwise the game is excellent.

At least I unlocked the statue teleport rune during my latest run so I should have more options now.

There are permanent upgrades wich make for a far better game compared to other roquelikes. It's really good imo and there is sense of progressions thanks to the pernament upgrades and runes that open up shortcuts or new places or give you new movements like wall jumping.

It's more like a roguelight. It's not as heavy like Enter the Gungeon or Binding of Isaac where you kinda completely start over without any upgrades at all.
Yeah this is what I like about Dead Cells. I'm not a fan a true rogue likes. I need those permanent upgrades. Its what drew me to Dead Cells. I think the game has more in common with Rogue Legacy, which I also enjoyed.

Oh hell yes!!! About the Switch possibility tweet.

I find that lately I am holding back on many indie game purchases in hopes it comes to Switch. I've had this game and some others in my Steam wish list but haven't bought thwm because it's not Switch.

I just picked this up today during the steam sale. For the most part a lot of the mechanics make sense, but I feel like there are some things I just don't understand yet. Anyone have recommendations for resources or a youtube video that goes into the mechanics?

What mechanics are you having problems with?
