I agree. Plus there's a lot less toxicity (it's still there but not as bad as the other mobas I've played)
I finally hit gold in ranked. Maining Ormarr has helped me do so much better in team fights. His stuns are nuts.
I'm liking this more than LoL.
Something about the fast games, good controls, streamlined item purchases, and less toxicity.

Honestly most champions are pretty easy to use. You just have to like the playstyle to have it be easier.

yeah, it's like the perfect mix of complexity and ease of play. I really like this game a lot.
I know that this is mostly a personal question but I'm just asking for general advice:
I have enough gold to buy Violet. Should I get her?
Or should I use that money on level 3 arcana?
Mostly looking to be a ranged DPS carry.

Dont spend gold on any of the characters you can earn through the Road to Glory.
Violet is fairly early too. I like her and Yorn a lot.

Yeah and she is a very good ranged dps carry, so you are all set!
I dont know much about actual MOBA strategy, so if shes a carry, which lane should she be in? BOT with a healer or something right?
If it follows traditional LoL style, you are 100% correct - bottom lane along with a support to keep her alive and in the fight.
K, what about Yorn? Mid?
Those are my two favourites so far, so it would be nice to know what I SHOULD be doing with them, haha.
Sounds like you've got a good handle on what you like! Yorn & Violet are both Attack Damage carries, so they'll play in the same lane. If it's like LoL, people should be letting you get final kills in on enemies so you get gold & levels.
The Item Builds they suggest to you should nudge you into the right direction as well: attack power, attack speed, damage, damage, damage.
Oh, thought he was diffferent since he seems to do more damage earlier than violet does. haha.

Any other suggestions on heroes to try out? I havent been jumping around too much so far, maybe try each hero once or twice in 3v3, but otherwise Ive been playing a lot of Yorn.
One person going afk guarantees a loss. On 3v3 and 5v5. Had a bunch of fun with this game the past week so I ended up giving em 10 bucks and bought a character.

Yeah that's how it goes in MOBAs. I don't get as annoyed in this game because at least it is a quick loss.
He might! Violet could scale damage differently - making her a late-game beast but requiring a little more backup earlier on.
I think when The Joker drops, you should check him out.
A 4v5 in the laning phase sucks, but it's not the worst thing in the late game. The worst thing is watching your teammate get caught out on the other side of the map.

I would assume that, if you were looking to play tank / support, that any arcana you've saved up should still apply. My tier III arcana for Chaugnar has been pretty great for Grakk as well. Ability damage, high HP, and high DF and magic DF. Actually, now that I've spent so much on tier III arcana for Chaugnar I feel pretty locked into that role. I feel like I'd be gimped picking a mage or assassin -- even though those bonuses are so small compared to the items you unlock in the course of play.
Been playing this a bit today.
Favorite hero so far is Mina. I've gotten a couple MVP's with her tonight.

I agree. It's my own personal taste and I applaud people who do like digital controls. It's the same reason why I can't use the Steam controller.
Also, is there really a Switch version coming? If so, I'm so stoked. Loving this game so far.
I'm getting the hang of Violet. I spent some money to fill out 4 arcana of the +1% attack speed / +1% movement speed. I swear, I can tell the slight difference in my mobility.
This was fun but I'm starting to feel a lot of the League of Legends type frustration setting in. Today i tried to jungle and a teammate followed me around for the first five minutes leaving a lane wide open so I had to go cover it. Some matches feel amazing and some just feel like I never stood a chance.
Like any team-based online game, playing with randoms can be an infuriating experience. I learned that very quickly trying to ascend the silver ranks in ranked play. I need to start getting games together with guild mates more often -- maybe using Discord in the background so we can chat between deaths and for quick messages.

Yep definitely is, they were recently taking applications for a European Closed Beta.
Trying it out, definitely weird and very LoL. Nobody in any game I've played goes mid lane and I don't get it. I always have to go mid myself no matter who I'm playing. Don't think anyone actually does any sort of meta. Never seen anyone jungle, I've seen people triple up on bot and top lane, hasn't mattered for anything yet, seems like most everyone I've matched up with haven't figured out the controls and I'm winning matches 30-1. Jury's still out on this for me

I have definitely not had that experience. Most 5v5 matches I've played I've seen at least one player per lane, though I don't often see dedicated junglers. If anything, I typically see too many people trying to drive up the middle.
We're definitely witnessing the flattening out of a learning curve at the moment. For many people, and for myself, AoV is our first MOBA.
As for the Road to Glory, that will stick around. I'm fact, it caps out at two hero unlocks per day, if I'm not mistaken, and Road to Glory is the only way to unlock those heroes; they can't be purchased. It adds a really rewarding grind for newcomers. I quite enjoyed the constant unlock gratification.

Any Airi users/mains around here? Need help on how to build and play her. Should I go full offense or a mix of defense? I'm having trouble playing her. LOL.
Wait until the internal matchmaking catches up to you. I was going entire matches without being killed once before it started grouping me against pro league LoL vets. I saw lane rotations, ganks, and unkillable formations. They were securing map objectives faster than I could comprehend.
Don't worry, the toxicity is still there. Now they use voice chat and across team chat. So be prepared when you kill the enemy to see them type out expletives from across teams.
I'm not even in the guild but this is getting ridiculous. There should be something in the OP advertising small donations to your Paypal or something. You shouldn't have to pay for all of that.the next guild cap upgrade is like 14 bucks
