My uncle's elderly friend hurt himself and couldn't take care of his new pup so that's how I ended up with my best bud but stubborn bulldog Bentley or Big Ben

It's not my pet, but I use this picture I took a couple of years ago of my sister's cat, Penny, as my December FB cover photo.

Bowser, Jupiter and Finn. Sadly Jupiter died earlier this year. I decided to get another kitten as Bowser was not happy on his own.

Couple random vids I took in the last couple weeks of Bigby messing around.

Also he got a hair cut the other day and had a lot of fun in the snow before it all melted away:

Here a pic of our new little bundle of joy. 3 Months Old, too much mischief. He just learned how to consistently use the potty.

The dog being murdered Is my boy cesaro. He has the greatest faces and never fails to make me laugh. I love that my dad's Yorkie is just looking at them like "whatever".

This is my kitten Apollo!

yihliIw.jpg

We adopted him back in early November from the Human Society. His name was Rocky at the shelter, and due to the fact that he was White (and the fact that we had just recently watch Creed) - we decided to rename him to Apollo. Unfortunately he was put down on Christmas Eve. After seemingly being fine up til that point, on Friday after waking up from a nap we noticed that he had completely lost his coordination. He jumped down from his bed which had been on the couch and completely hit the floor. He got up slowly and drunkenly staggered over to our doorway mat and peed, and then staggered back to my girlfriend before just collapsing by her feet. It was around Midnight when that happened so we packed him up in the carrier and took him to an emergency Vet. They said it was likely a neurological disorder, and that they could keep him overnight and refer him to a neurologist - but that it would likely be $6-8 thousand just to potentially get a diagnosis. We couldn't afford it, so they sent us packing with some antibiotics and steroids. He grew weaker and weaker through out the night, and by the morning he was barely able to keep his eyes open let alone move much. We made the decision to surrender him back to the Humane Society since they had more resources to treat him than we did. We had to sign a waiver for a potential Euthanasia in the event that they deemed him untreatable, or unadoptable. We called the next morning and they had already made the decision to put him to sleep.

It turns out that it wasn't a neurological disorder, but FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which I'm told is a guaranteed death sentence. The person told us that they did an autopsy, and his insides were basically decayed and his body had shut down - which is why he was so weak. We asked how he could seem perfect before a nap, and go down hill so quickly after - and they mentioned that cats are very good at masking symptoms until their bodies hit critical. They looked at his records and said that we should have never been able to adopt him since there were notes about him constantly sneezing (which we noticed), being very vocal, having diarrhea, being a picky eater and being a bit under weight - all of which are huge indicators of the disease. Even though I'm heart broken, I'm glad we adopted him and I'd do it again even if I knew this was the end result. He was honestly the goofiest, friendliest and most loving cat - and I'm sad to see him go.

Here's a photo album of him: https://imgur.com/gallery/r24Il

His favorite hobby in the world was watching movies, which is amazing considering both my girlfriend and I are HUGE movie buffs. We would literally leave our media player on for him when we'd leave for work, and he would sit and watch entire movies. If you paused a movie or turned the television off while he watched it, he would go over to you and meow until you turned it back on. His favorite film of all time was Legally Blonde :)

My babies are cuddled up this winter.
My dog is a floor rug that has no desire to do anything but sleep the day away. My kitten is a rambunctious, curious creature always in everyone's face. It's nice to see both of them wind down together.

This is my kitten Apollo!

Im so sorry for your loss. This story is heartbreaking. Apollo was a very cute cat. He seemed like he had a great personality and his coat was gorgeous. RIP. I hope in his short time with you that he brought some joy to your life, as it appears.

My cat died of FIP too. At present it is completely untreatable, and even if caught very early, all that vets can do is make the cat comfortable. There are some promising treatments in a research stage, but there is nothing else you could have done for your kitty had you known. I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm glad you gave him a nice home for the time he had left. :)

Thanks for the kind words :) Me and my girlfriend thought about it quite a bit, and we decided to adopt another kitten. We were weary, because we were fearful that we'd go into an adoption expecting a cat with the same personality and tendencies as Apollo, but that's just something we'd have to work through.

This is Bowie and we adopted him on Friday.

I went from the most sweet and loving little soul, and to gaining a little psycho who basically thought he was Rambo when I first met him.

He did turn out to be awesome in his own ways. He is currently hiding from the fireworks and no longer feels like he has to convince the world he can kick its arse.

Rambo-mode can now be turned off with belly rubs.

You new friend looks cute as fuck.

Finally! People to appreciate how cute Beckett is! I got him as a kitten and he's the first pet I've really had as an adult. He's cute and has a penchant for climbing up on people to get to high places.

I'm thinking we may have adopted a similar cat. This one is much more brave and adventurous, and he has an unbelievable appetite! He's a little bit younger then our last kitten was when we adopted him. This one is a hair under 10 weeks, and Apollo was 12 weeks. He's still very clumsy and doesn't quite have his feet under him. I can't wait until he can jump, because currently he has to climb up stuff.... which isn't the best combination with furniture :(

O my gosh! You guys have such cute animals! ❤️I love all of them!

Also, I am sorry for those who lost their furry family members. It's one of the hardest things to go through in life. Sorry for your loss.

I should post mine sometime soon.

I forgot to mention that Bowie is a Panleukopenia survivor, which is pretty amazing considering the age at which he had it. I guess all of his litter mates outside of him and his sister passed away from the disease :(

This is Rowdy.

Started off the year by emasculating my uncle's giant dog by putting a small pink shirt on him to keep him warm.

If you spend enough time around nothing but small dogs, its easy to forget just how damn big they can get. He's frickin huuuuge.

He sat down and made a crater on my bed signifying "this is mine now" before migrating to the living room.

I got Carlos (the fella in the profile pic and posted earlier in thread) even earlier than that. Him and two brothers had lost their mom and was handed to a rescue. I think he was 8 weeks when I got him. They figured it was better for him to have a home than a metal cage.

I do think a lot of the problems I had with him earlier was caused by that. But then again, me coming from the most loving kittycat ever, probably lead to me chasing him around with a "LET ME LOVE YOU!" attitude, instead of just letting him learn his own path.

He did, as mentioned, get soft later on. And just as that happened, I was kinda forced to adopt an old clumsy, fat, not very bright kitty from my dad. And while those claims are true, he is also the sweetest fucking cat in the world. Carlos does not think so, though. So he went from finally being sweet, to "let me just attempt to murder this other cat every five minutes".

I never really wanted to spend this much time brokering peace between two kitties. But they are both SO damn awesome in their own rights.

And the kitty hugs at the end are worth it all.

So, I got a cat. He was really afraid of us in his first day at home:

T9HCgvR.jpg

Then he started to enjoy our presence in the sofa:

And now he's already all cuddly with my wife. But still is scared of absolutely anything.
