That's good to know. Thanks so much for the help. :) I was starting to feel bored just doing challenges so it'll be nice to get on with the story.
No problem :)

I'm still farming treasure hunts so if anyone wants to add me for easy challenges quote to reveal my PSN ID. Just put Dusty Tokens in the Friend request.

Question: Are there any side quests that need to be finished before doing certain story missions?
I'm only at episode 5 and I'd Like to go to episode 14 to farm the furniture that are locked through treasure hunts.

Sliding is a lot more fun in GR2 for me personally. Jupiter is the best, kind of fun to have that chaotic Gravity Sliding.

It felt a lot more grounded in the first game. In 2 it feels like I'm about to shoot into the air with one wrong move. The camera also shoots all over the place when you need to maneuver quickly.

In general I feel that everything just felt tighter in GR2 including the slide.

I forgot what the slide was like for each different style. God I really should play this game again.

I'm not sure how many share this opinion but I think my favorite chapter is 10.

When you break out your friends from prison and then end up fighting a ton of enemies including two Eliminators on the airship.

Usually the criticism I hear for GR is that the combat is boring but I actually found it a lot of fun, especially when you mix up your gravity styles to keep moving as you fight. It's not really a complex battle system but I still had a blast with it, almost as much as flying around the world.

Oh shit, someone also has this as their favorite?

Well, I dunno if it's my favorite chapter (I don't remember it that well), but it's definitely one of, if not my favorite boss fight. Just had like, an epiphany while I was fighting the soldiers and mechs, where for once I wasn't fighting all chaotically and what not, I was actually using all of the skills I had at that point rather well. Was a lot of fun.

Ah.

Treasure Hunts in Lei Elgona are brutal - at least this one is! It normally takes me about a minute or so to find treasure, but with this one, 30mins later... the only thing distinct is a tiny bit of bridge, but I still must not be lining up the right angle, because I'm not finding it. It's hard to line up buildings, because they all look the same.

I'll get you, my pretty. One way or another. argghhh

Everything looks alike in that place, you don't really have points to focus on.

All the other places are relatively easy. And the ones I got today I heard beeping where I spawned, so no complaints there.

Yeah I always groan when I get a treasure hint from that area. Everything looks the same.

Will never forget my first 5 to 10 hours of this game. Being in a beautiful city with so much color was so awesome. Took so many pictures lol.

Returning to the old city from GR1 was cool, but I prefer the new city so much more. It felt so lively and the game is incredibly dense with lots of content.

I was an asshole at first with my Treasure hunt pics until a friend told me it's better to make it easy to find. Since you get tokens when the hunter does lol. So my pic hints are as blatant as possible.

I try to give hints that are at least somewhat challenging, but contain at least one obvious landmark.

A shame this feature will be removed. I think the game will be less fun without it.

I wonder if maintaining the servers really costs so much that they have to be closed soon.

Just to give a little more detail.
Completing Episode 10 gives you access to all the challenges in Jirga Para Lhao.
Starting Episode 11 will temporarily lock them until you complete Episode 20. You will have access to new challenges during this time however.
Completing Episode 14 allows you to receive furniture through treasure hunts.
Also after completing Episode 20 you get 8 treasure hunts every 12 hours instead of 4 every 12 hours.

25 pieces of furniture are available in treasure hunts so it's worth getting Episode 14 done soon so you have time to farm the treasure hunts for furniture before the server shutdown. Also worth getting Episode 20 done for the increased treasure hunts.
This helps a lot (I was wondering why I wasn't getting any furniture yet). Thanks, I'll have to get around to advancing the story some more soon then. Just finished Episode 7 IIRC, and
got Raven back.

So how should I play to get tokens as fast as possible, talking on what episodes to complete and then stop to do challenges etc until I hit 6000 tokens?

You can earn token the fastest after you beat chapter 21. Until then just do every challenge mission and send out stuff, hunts etc. You can also set you pictures to auto-submit in the options.

Looks like challenges from other players could be tied to the story, because I suddenly got two after clearing chapter six. First one immediately after six, the second one immediately after I cleared a side mission.

I just unlocked Lunar style. Am I right to assume it's slower than Normal style since there's less gravity with Lunar on? It sure seems slower.

I got lucky with challenges and won some, so I got to 6k without going out of my way. Basically just doing them and every treasure hunt pics coming my way.

I've no idea how you'd get 6k offline though. I haven't found a single treasure without a pic.

That's because you won't get player challenges for challenges you haven't unlocked first.

Yeah, but it comes with other advantages. For example, it consumes your gravity gauge the slowest of all styles. You can also jump really high and you have a cool glide through the air mechanic.

Makes sense, but I had three challenge missions unlocked before chapter six (the fight challenge on the island where the fleet is docked and the two newspaper challenges) and not a single challenge invite in two or three days. Then I complete chapter 6 and they suddenly come rolling in.

No. Some sidequests will become unavailable at points during the progression of the main episodes but they all become available again later.

I wasn't too much of a fan of Lunar mode Gravity Slide.

A lot of things in Lunar mode bugged me.

It has good acceleration so you can bounce from building to building quickly and once you get into the flow of things you can easily bounce around collecting crystals. However it is the slowest for things like long distance travelling.

If I remember correctly you can get talisman that increases speed.

Ultimately I found it best to simply switch styles as I needed. Loved launching with Luna then going into a Jupiter fall for travel then landing back in regular or hitting the ground into a slider then switching to Jupiter again like I'm shifting gears. :D

Jupiter controls like a heavy duty regular mode but Luna feels different completely with the launch, super jump and air twirls all being useful to master.

I see. That's pretty cool. So far I'm launching myself and then flying with Normal. I haven't tried bouncing around the city yet. Combat-wise, I prefer Normal so far just because the wormhole kick makes the camera go crazy sometimes and it uses a ton of meter. I really like its special though.

Just booted up the game for the first time since February. I stopped grinding for Dusty Tokens almost immediately after unlocking the original Shifter uniform. Figured I still had another thousand coins to knock out for the final talisman, but I loaded the options menu and, BAM, result notifications came rolling right over the mark! I did a few treasure hunts for old time sake and, man, I'm really going to miss this little feature. As someone that never dabbles with PSN after it went behind a paywall this generation, I really appreciated this wonderful mini-game that was both freely accessible and placed greater emphasis on the photograph mode that would've otherwise been tossed aside as a gimmick. One of the best games that I ever played this generation and a top contender for the current year that, sadly, got overlooked in the first quarter tsunami of Japanese niche games. Really wished they could've keep the servers running for a bit longer, but I do hope they'll make the Dusty content accessible somehow for future gamers that missed out on the launch year.

EDIT: By the way, did they remove the option to share photographs early? The entire time I was floating out in the city, I never stumbled across any ghosts and the server kept failing whenever I tried uploading my own images.

I think they take time to get used to and I found it fun to play around with but I had initially written it off as gimmicky nonsense because I was impatient and didn't really feel the need for it. Ultimately normal can get things done but the warp kick makes some enemies a little easier as well. Some of those flying assholes are pretty quick!

My favorite mission was the final few boss fights. Not the actual last bosses
the angel fights
.

That fight is fun.
throwing the missiles got boring after awhile. /SPOILER]
Human boss fights were always my favorite of the series. It feels a lot crazier and imo a better experience than just fighting more nevi. The game needed more of that. One of my favorite games of the year though

Lunar style is awesome except for that part where they want you to kill flying nevis without using your shift powers.
Personally the worst part of the game for me.

Just finished that chapter, too.

This game is now ten times better than before. Yes, just because Raven's here.

I squeed when I performed a Spiralling Claw and Raven automatically JOINED THE ATTACK.

Aww.

I like the soundtrack in this game but so far the first game's blows it out of the water. Nothing so far has compared to Pleasure Quarter, Assault Cnida, Resistance and Extermination , Trump Card, and Infernal Paths. I would add links but there's just so many lol.

Night Gale is fucking fire though.

Ye olde 'complain about your issue on the internet and you shall be saved' came to pass once again. I went into the treasure hunt, flew upwards trying to orientate myself to the bridge, and flew past the damn treasure. 20 seconds. I'll go cry now. I'm sympathetic to the person who took the hint pic, I don't think I managed a decent one either, despite multiple attempts.
