That's fair. I did the same with my 7 plus, all the way back to the 4S and was always fine. I guess with the 4S I knew the back was cheap to fix and the phone overall was cheap to replace. I probably will go caseless soon, been itching to do it for a while now. I've been using an Apple Leather Case which has been nice, but the bulk and dust build up is a bit annoying.

Been using the Xmas break to go naked with my phone at home where it is a relatively safer environment. Really nice to use although a tad slippery (but not nearly as bad as my 6s was).

Will probably still use my Apple leather case when I go back to work though. Office has a carpet but out on the streets and the train station it's all concrete floors..

I too got a ton of scratches within the first month after babying it. I can't take a pic because now I have a screen protector on it and you can't see them. If I ever take it off I'll try and remember. It sucks though.

Anyway to remove the grey bottom bar when I type??

I have an Apple silicone case currently but it does hide the nice design... I'm thinking of getting a sleeve for it since I can put it in my bad effortlessly thanks to AirPods.

Nah and you wouldn't want to do that, anyway. Tapping the very edge of the phone to type is not a good practice.

Sucks. I'm thinking of taking mine into Apple and making something up about the screen not working right. I'd complain about their fabricated "strongest glass ever" but I think just saying it doesn't work is more likely to get me a replacement.

If you record a lot, use FiLMiC Pro, 4K 60 but also a much higher bitrate, Bluetooth audio, more aspect ratios, etc

I caved and bought a leather case (project Red) at the local Apple Store today. Cons: it's a damn case and my phone is fat and hidden now. Pros: it is pretty, feels nice, my phone doesn't rock due to that dumb camera bump and it is no longer slipping out of my coat pocket all the time.

I generally hate cases, but this one is quite alright.

Sometimes, when trying to force shut apps, it doesn't work. Like now for example, I have the red X at the top of every app but I can't tap the red cross OR swipe them up. Nothing happens, it's been this way for an entire day and it doesn't help to restart phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

This is my third bug encountering with this shit overpriced shit phone, is it the phone or the shit fucking piece of shit of an iOS-update? First time with 11.shit

Does anyone have an issue where if using the Apple leather case it seems to pick and collect all the lint and dust in your pocket? Every time I take my phone out from my pocket I have a lot of lint and dust collected at the edges where the case meets the phone.

Yes this is an issue. Mainly at the top lip.

It's even worse when you also have a screen protector. Lots of dust and lint build up between the case lip and the edges of the screen protector. I need to clean it up like every other day with a microfiber cloth.

Yeah, when I took my screen protector off today cus my AppleCare policy came through, it had so much dust accumulated in the outline of the protector it looked like the screen protector was still on lmao.

Yup. Feels like the X has split the iOS team's attention and it's introduced a ton of small bugs. Just yesterday a new one started where the lock screen camera button wouldn't work until a restart.

do you get the lock animation showing up above the camera screen pretty often too? this is the buggiest stretch of an iOS release i've ever experienced.

Restore your backup and see if the issue was resolved. If it wasn't it's a problem with your backup.

I couldn't turn the battery percentage off on any of my phones since the 6 because backed up data from a jailbreak tweak.
I was finally able to start fresh when they had iMessage iCloud sync for a brief moment.

Speaking of bugs, the one where I have to slide up and down multiple times to actually mute the speaker/media volume in control center when I used the hardware volume buttons before is still present. Ie: Volume up via hardware, want to mute volume after playback in control center, slide down to the very bottom -> not muted, media still plays on very low volume. Swipe up and then down again -> finally muted most of the time else repeat.

Drives me crazy. Let's hope they get their software issues under control in 2018

I swear to god I cannot find a good lightning cable. I've bought cheap and expensive ones and they keep failing within weeks of me using them. I have no idea what the problem is I'm not manhandling the cables. I just bought a $30 native union cable and it stopped working after a week. It can't be my iPhone X as it's practically new. This shit was happening on my iPhone 6 before I got my X.

I only use authentic apple cables and Amazon Basics MFI lightning cables, not a single one failed me so far. Granted I have one that I specifically use for travel, rest basically doesn't move.

So tomorrow's the last day you can add AppleCare+ if you received your X on launch.

Honestly not sure what to do. I'm most likely going to upgrade again this year and I use both case/screen protector, so I should be good until the 2018 phones come out. But then again, shit happens.

Luckily AC+ was included with my IUP but because of the outrageous repair prices on their devices such as the X and Watch, they're starting to make it look like AC+ is compulsory.
I really to think the X will be my last Apple device.
I'm secretly hoping for Microsoft to come up with something special.
