They should redo the compass, I don't mind the map anymore. My only complaint about the map was me having to manually go the right area all the time. I preferred the compass in XB1, as it was multidirectional and it was easier to judge elevations with it. One way would be using the left analouge trigger for cycling between objectives of the marked quest and maybe using one of the 4 shoulder buttons to choose between side and main quest.

I haven't finished XB2 yet but I feel like 2 and X are probably related:

In 2, you have Drivers and Blades and the Blades are artificial life created from the personality of the Drivers and if the Drivers die so do the Blades.

In X you are artificial life created from another living thing. You are a member of the BLADES group. I think it was said that if the original died so did the robot.

Could the characters from X be Blades and their originals that are asleep the Drivers?

End of chapter 7 was excellent.
Malos's weapon being the Monado was a really nice touch. People complaining about Rex's outfit got a nice surprise albeit, one that is essentially a texture swap.

The markers probably haven't vanished, they just get hidden under the icon for environmental interaction points or whatever they're called. For some dumb reason those take priority over quest exclamation points on the map.
I can't see the level 3 in Gormott, but they do appear on the map for other places.

Assuming there are three spots in each of the areas I'm missing the third prospecting spot in Gormott and Leftheria. Does anyone know where they are?

I think I'll go with subs for this one. Those dubs sound a little rough in comparison to Xenoblade 1.

The English voice actors really grow on you and I think the voice direction is better later in the game

There's no subs for the battle voices, so unless you know Japanese you'll miss out on some details as well.

Damn i was actually ok with that dongeon untill this part. So annoying since the first spider actually summon lots of mini spiders making the combat tedious since you're so limited in moves at that point

You can skip the fight if you walk slowly behind them

------

So does anyone know what the initiative is? So mang cores talk about it. Is it like who attacks first?

You also don't get classic lines like, "DONT FORGET ME!"

I lived the English va. Having it UK based makes it just foreign enough that I enjoy it. Very much like xb1.

Does score matter at all in Tiger Tiger apart from the affinity chart requirements?

And wtf, worst run ever. All 8 treasures were ether crystals.

I feel like every Xenoblade game needs a memey line or phrase.

Xenoblade 1 has "Reyn Time!" and "You will pay for your insolence!"
Xenoblade X has "Aw yeah! Aw... Aw... Aw.. Aw..."
Xenoblade 2 has "DONT FORGET ME!"

lol

Any answer I can give you would just give it away.

The end would probably suprising to you though so just keep playing.

I keep trying to play other games but end up going back to this. The sidequests, especially the blade ones, are really good. Amazing actually. Is this the general sentiment or am I just crazy for liking them?

So far I liked Agate's and Percival's the most. I also really enjoyed the process of getting Praxis and Theory. The sidequest to obtain Vess was terrific and had good emotion... I just hate her so much.

I think narratively there's some good quests, in addition to the rare blade ones there's a fair few that followup on characters or plot points from the main story.

My problem with them is that so many are built around some of the more annoying game mechanics, with (sometimes multiple) merc mission locks, or having numerous field skill checks.

For someone that didnt complete "Failure and success" mission (Perceval sidequest), I need the characters requeriments for the quest. (For example for the quest of Wulfric I need Wulfric, Rex, Pyra, etc etc) The needed characters appear in the bottom when you go into details. I have the mission bugged, so I can't see the requeriments.

Thanks!

zroid Yeah I need that!

Spoilers are spoilers...? If this was half-way through, should I put "Spoilers 50% of the way in" or "Spoilers 75% in" if it's the last quarter of the game? Anyone that hasn't beat the game that sees a spoiler tag shouldn't open spoiler tags - it's as simple as that. I'm not going to modify my spoiler tag lol.

Something like "spoilers for endgame" or "spoilers for chapter 5" will do because the game is easily divided by chapters. But it's not a rule, it's just basic decency, and I know what to do now, thanks :)

Edit: Lol this looked weird because I ignored the person, but anyway ignore this post. Game's awesome.

  1. In Argentum, send 90 000g (total) to Fonsett
  2. Go to Fonsett and speak to Corinne
  3. Speak to Max
  4. Follow the chain of couriers
  5. Speak to Max again
  6. You'll get a choice: either purchasing a Titan outright, or borrowing one. Find Umon in Torigoth to select the latter option; this initiates the quest you're after.

I may have missed a step or two, but if there are any blanks I'm sure you can fill them in.

What if I
Bough the Titan?
I can't do Umon anymore? Where is Umon in Torigoth?

One of the best tracks in the Xenoblade series:

Legit feels of grasping that moment.

Yeah, it's literally the ''Confrontation with the Enemy'' of this game, the song is built in a similar way and also used in very similar key moments of the story.

I prefer this one though, along with the whole OST, while I adore XC1's (in fact I got the XC1 OST for Christmas!), XC2 feels like they went even more all in.

I honestly did not think ACE would surpass their work, but they did and I cannot be happier than that.

EDIT: I'll take a moment to say that I officially approve the title of this thread. I've been in a pause for XC2 after 105h of intensive gameplay. I got Rocket League and got a bit invested into it, I'll be jumping back in to get all Blades pretty soon.

Done with just about every non-blade quest there is. Only a few superbosses left.

What's the best item for boosting trust the fastest? Assuming they are non-favorites of course.

So at launch people were saying you don't need to play the other games as the world's aren't linked, but it seems they are in some way or the other? Should I play XB1 before 2 due to this? What about X?I stopped playing due to the crappy handhekd performance & a console backlog

There are some connections to Xenoblade 1, but you can basically treat it like a reference. It isn't remotely critical to understanding the story, no reason to play XB1 first (unless you just want to play the better game first).

I really don't think the connections are meaningful in any way other than very small winks and nudges, so I wouldn't worry about it. AKA there's very little that would make me want to go back and finish X.

Does anyone know of a good Poppiswap guide?
I have been using Morag as my tank since I got her, but I love Poppi QT pi and am flirting with the idea of finally letting her and Tora back in.
I just have no interest in investing effort into understanding what I am supposed to be doing in Poppiswap.

Well I've got 2 rare blades left to get, Agate and Vale I think looks like the legendary core grind begins very shortly.
The best way of getting legendary cores is from beating high level enemies with a smash combo right?

Okay so I'm really on the fence about getting this game....

On one hand the combat system looks to be everything I've wanted from an rpg, and the story seem surprisingly compelling with some interesting elements

BUT...the character designs, overly animu aesthetic, and ridiculously proportioned characters honestly draw me out of the whole thing and make me wonder if this is a game I wouldn't be embarrassed to play in public.

I'd really like to hear some impressions regarding the issues I think could ruin the game for me cause I've been want to scratch that JRPG itch for a while but not at the cost of some legitimately embarrassing character designs and moments.

The ridiculously proportioned characters and anime aesthetic aren't that distracting and really help the characters express themselves in my opinion. As for the character designs, they are indeed distracting, but their ridiculousness, such as Mythra's attire, is actually lampshaded by Dromarch during one scene.

Any way to trigger this Kora - Mythra Girl Talk quest? I have both in my party, both even on Rex and nothing shows up at that bar in Tantal...

Honestly, the character design ended up being the best on the Xeno series for me, and not only because it has grown on me from an aesthetic point of view but falso becuase functionality wise these designs are just incredibly expressive, and this particular game greatly benefits from it.

If your issue is soley regarding the skimpy outfits, YMMV of course, but I personally found it totally fine and more of a nod once you get to know the character´s personalities and such. I´d equate it to watching something like Sailor Moon, where there are very obvious references to sexuality and the outfit design is heavily sensualized, but the interactions and personalities themselves are much more complex and the characters themselves more nuances than one would think.

That said I can´t recommend the game enough and would absolutely advice you to get it. Its a trully amazing RPG and well worth the 100 hrs. I´ve put in. Don´t want it to end as a matter of fact.

I just have no interest in investing effort into understanding what I am supposed to be doing in Poppiswap.

The basic idea is that you can fully customize Poppi's blade arts, battle skills, and special bonuses. You get parts and ether crystals from Tiger Tiger. Ether crystals can be used to create parts, and parts can be converted into ether crystals.

Each part has an energy cost required to equip it, and Poppi has a total amount of energy, which can be increased by upgrading her energy converter.

Elemental cores are used to change her element. Role CPUs are used to change her stat bonus and role: muscle = strength/ATK, strike = dexterity/ATK, tank = HP/tank, evasion = agility/tank, ether = ether/healer, luck = luck/healer.

Art cards determine her blade arts (the bonuses your blade gives during battle that are triggered randomly). Skill RAM and skill upgrades determine her battle skills (passives). Special enhancing RAM determines the bonuses on her specials.

Check out these threads for some good builds for her:

https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/204208-xenoblade-chronicles-2/76136827
https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/204208-xenoblade-chronicles-2/76131230

In terms of farming, you'll want to do either stage 5, which has a chance to drop master role mods (basically tier VI) and other parts which can't be created using ether, or stage 1/2 for simple ether farming.

For builds, people generally make QTPi an attacker, stacking multiple damage mods and using Critical Restore for sustainability, and make QT/Alpha tanks/support.

Is there any way to re-read tutorials in this game?

Alternatively, how does the element combo thing work? I couldn't quite wrap my head around it with the brief tutorial that was posted?

Just approve all Art requests that the party gives me?

Wait, why would Tora have luck stats in his affinity chart? Doesn't it only affect the chance of getting rare blades? He can only use Poppi so why would he need luck?

The first post of this OT has tons of useful information, including a link to every helptext screenshot.

As for luck, that's covered in the info-dump at the beginning of chapter 2.

Luck: makes it easier to resist enemy debuffs/reactions.

Does poppi get broken like pyra/mythra?

Is it really worth the tiger tiger grind?

She's much more powerful than Pyra, and probably better than Mythra as well. Whether it's worth the grind is up to you; going for a completely optimal setup will take a lot of time, but a very good setup can be obtained in a few hours.
