It's a bit annoying that so many people seem to have paypal issues, paypal needs to fix that. It's so frustrating to see people wanting to help but being stopped by things out of their control.

But I'm very happy to see the amount of money raised so far, it really looks treatment can start soon.

You deserve a chance to fight this. You seem like a very good person and I think you are an inspiration for all of us. First time I donate to something like this.

Good luck and take care!

Talal just a thought, but maybe create a separate funding site up for $2-3000 specifically for folks with PayPal issues (assuming it's a gogetfunding specific issue because I've used PayPal no problem and I can't donate to your cause)

Theoretically, will there be money lost on the way if I'd offer to paypal me, so I can forward to Talal? I already donated, so I'm pretty sure my Paypal works. I honestly have no idea though how many fees we're talking (europe) and if those transactions would arrive and being resent in time, and also if it's possible to instantly send off received Paypal money.

I mean sure, that's one more step to trust, but it would be an option maybe?

Just in case it is an issue with that website, you could DM Talal directly and ask him for his PayPal E-Mail address and send him your donation directly. It won't be listed on the funding site, but then again...

I don't mind that at all, but there are quite a few posters in here getting the issue. A quick glance shows 20+ people with that issue.

Do we have a Twitter hashtag for donating to Talal? Perhaps if enough if us retweet it we can get it into trending?

I made a donation. I figured this is a more worthy cause than my original plan of spending it on hookers and booze.

Get well Talal!

Test paypal again on my end, sent another donation and it went through just fine. If anyone having paypal issues wants to send donations to my paypal, and I can send it to the fund, let me know. I'll screen shot the donation sent to me, as well as the donation going to the fund via your forum name.

At first I only gave $10 because I thought it was all I had to give. I live on a narrow margin of income and, like you, would never be able to afford the resources to survive a life-threatening diagnosis. In general, I am a miserable person who prefers the stability of depression versus the ups and downs of ever having hope for anything. But I do have hope for you. I do believe you can pull through. I do believe the only thing stopping you from giving it your all is the monetary cost.

So for you to give it everything you've got, I have to too. I am making another donation. I just wish I had more to give you. It still is not much, but even these fifty more dollars is a lot for me. I am sorry I cannot do more.

I know you began your thread worrying you wasted your precious time on Earth. I don't want you to feel like that. Everybody spends time on things that lead nowhere. Everybody waits for things that never happen. Everybody puts love and conviction and energy into things that they wish they didn't. This is always going to be true no matter how long you live. These things do not define your life. They do not make up who you are. Even if your maximum potential is never realized, you are not merely a sum spent time. I want you to instead focus on what you want to do, and even if you can never do it, that will be who you really are. You are what you want to be.

You can't know what's going to happen - nobody ever knows that. We are all constrained by mystery. But if you want to live, you are not a dying man. You are the same as any of us: someone trying to keep on going.

So keep going. Push. Try. We are here with you. I will never regret giving you all I had because I know it is what I wanted. You do that too. Give it all you have and you should not die with regret. Not in a hundred years or in six months or in eight weeks.

For all of human history, the secret to our survival has been cooperation. Humans rely on each other for mutual achievement. We keep each other alive in the belief we will all be better together. I believe that. Have hope. You got this.

Very moving message and donation Final Fireworker. This morning it was 39% and now it is already up to 46% and the day hasn't even entered the evening! At this rate 50% of the fundings could be achieved by the end of the day.

Your situation is sobering, OP. I am hoping you can find your way through this. Hopefully the donations are able to get you to treatment.

What a phenomenal post.

These types of moments on the internet are always so heartwarming and proof of the inherent good in mankind.

When I get paid tomorrow I'll be dropping you some money. I don't have much to add as I'm terrible at consoling people and tend to just stick my foot in my mouth. I will say whatever happens in the new weeks, months, years I hope that you have an awesome time doing it.

I won't tell you how much I gave because that's not important. But I gave what I have.

I wish I had some platitudes or courageous words to share, but I don't. Dealing with the frailty of human life in my career in medicine has taught me that life can slip away from any of us at any time. Most of us aren't given a date to expect it, but the end result is the same.

However, the fact that you have hope is everything right now. You can come back from this. You can have a second chance at life.

And when you kick this cancer right in its ass, I'm begging you, please take advantage of that second chance and live the life you talked about wishing you had lived. Don't waste another second, because none of us know how many seconds we have left.

Go back to school. Get that better job/career you mentioned. Make your life into the life you wanted it to be. Not many people get a second chance. So take advantage of it and live like there's no tomorrow.

Does that $37k amount account for everything, or are there going to be things like taxes and such that mean the actual amount needs to be more?

I wish some people like Greg Miller or someone could spread the word on this. Would be nice.
