Happy holidays everyone!

Just wanted to say I appreciate all the posts in this community.
Thanks for helping me create a lego backlog, something I would have never thought possible in the past.

So when should I head out to the Lego store for the new Batman minifigures? (Because that is the only place I feel comfortable feeling the bags. It's accepted behavior, and it's nice in that you can usually help out a kid or two, versus having to keep an eye out for employees and feeling like you're doing something wrong.)

Edit: Oh yeah, and got Assembly Square! Heck yeah! Also got a second of that VIP little Lego store diorama thing. Thinking I might cheaply modify it into one more full little store.

Is the GOTG Milano set going out of production already?
It says "Call to check product availability" on Shop.Lego, but the other GOTG sets still seem stocked.

I was hoping it would be one of the sets I get to get the giveaway set at the end of January, especially since I got a LEGO giftcard for Christmas.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Didn't ask for much here, got some new sets I "hint hint"-ed about being available, Technic Racing Yacht and Egghead Mech.

We got my dad this for Xmas, found it for around $60 (in yen) at a used shop. Seems pretty cool !!

I dont have it, but the set looks fantastic. Set was designed by Jamie Berard (a favorite designer of many long time posters). Jamie has done many of the modulars sets.

This thread is notorious for enabling LEGO purchases. May a new year bring you a bigger backlog.

LEGO stores are pretty strict with street dates, but occasionally will release some stuff a little early. I'm guessing Jan. Just call the store. I've done that many times to see if they had something in stock or when they were expecting next shipment.

Built the contraction Boba set yesterday, def the best they've done with the SW figures to date. Jetpack is a cool build and it does a good job of not looking anemic in the upper body (lower body still does tho). Will probably build the Egghead Mech tonight.

Hey all -

Random question. My mom SWEARS she saw an ad for a Christmas Story set coming out, but I don't remember seeing that.

Anyone know if she's full of it or not?

I've not heard about something like that in Lego.

There is a Lego ideas set submission of the house from the movie that is nearly at 10,000 supporters. There have been news articles about that.

Ah! Jealous you snagged that already. I'm normally really cold on the buildable figures but man that one looks great.

I'm not sure if it's allowed in this thread or not, but my wife got me the Super Star Destroyer
Lepin
set for Christmas. I've been having a blast putting it together so far and it has really piqued my interest in LEGO.

I'd prefer to go legit going forward, but where is the best place to pickup out of print sets?

To put it nicely yea no Chinese knockoff talk.

But you have come to the right place to enable your Lego addiction! For out of print sets you can get lucky scanning garage sales or places like Craigslist. Places like Bricklink will have most of the OOP sets you may want but they will be priced more at aftermarket values.

Another consideration is re-releases from Lego themselves which has been happening lately. Outside the UCS sets for Star Wars most of the iconic vehicles from Star Wars will get sets on shelves again at some point as they go in cycles. With new movies those cycles just may take longer.

I'm trying to debate if building Destinys Bounty will help or aggravate this damn cold.

I figured that was the case. After reading reviews online and seeing the quality differences, I definitely think I want to try to go legit from now on. Oh my aching wallet.

Thanks for the suggestions!

That has to be what it was. I was explaining to her the Ideas thing, but she swore it was already a set.

Thank you.

Would anyone be interested in buying a ton of LEGO Dimensions stuff as well as loose LEGO + some random promo sets on the cheap? I am trying to figure out what to do with them all.

I got the Spider-Man set with Ghost Rider, and while the motorcycle is cool, I think a car (like Robbie Reyes) would be cooler. Has anyone built a MoC hot rod like that, or is there an official one that would fit the minifig Ghost Rider and his flaming hair?

Bout to build Destiny's Bounty! Contemplating using my star destroyer and tie carrier as a piece pool to build another ship to counter it.., perhaps something unusual like a civil war ironclad like the monitor or the Virginia

edit: several sets are on sale, actually. I see the deals have been posted in several places already.

It worked! First 'custom' build. It's nothing like an official set but the result still looks pretty nice. Don't mind the bus, I use it as a stand for now.

I didn't realize they sell that POS "speeder" the resistance uses in the Defense of Crait, nor that it's like an 85 dollar set. Is it at least an incredible build or something, because in-canon it's pretty underwhelming.

Yo guys, after a somewhat rough stretch in my personal life, i am checking in to see if there's anything noteworthy these days as far as Lego is concerned and i just happen upon

Jang's reviews of the new DC sets... HOLY SHIT! dat Lex Powermech revival!!! Seems like it's even better than the first one way back when... the figs are knocking it out of the park too.

Then i saw the Lobo set, another must have ugh!!! Then i saw the set with Killer Frost, Reverse Flash etc. man what has happened? We used to get maybe ONE great DC set a year recently and now this??

Couple friends came over the other night and saw a box of Lego I had stashed in a closet. One of many. They started making fun of me for being an adult that still buys Lego. They are, of course, way too mature to buy any of that.

Tried to tell them how much prices inflate but they werent buying it. Just a full on group roast session on Fubar. Went to Bricklink and showed them the Wolverine/Deadpool helicopter set. They kinda stopped. Then showed them th e 2007 UCS Falcon. They shut up real quick. One of them joked they were going to start buying Lego just to hold and resell in a few years. The others were just awestruck silent. So that won them over.

That all said, they have no idea that I buy most sets to set up and model in another room they never go to but hey whatever. Progress is progress.

The leaked promo pic from the Han Solo movie shows a redesigned Falcon and I immediately thought about the inevitable LEGO set that'll come out for it, haha.

Oh damn that coaster! I was hoping for a full-on Expert size set but that still looks really really cool! Looks like it could be pushing 1,000 pieces anyway, and all 3 builds look interesting

Ninjago Movie Water Strider is the official value GOAT. My daughter just finished building it. Looks great, almost 500 pieces, works well as a toy, great size. Got it for $20. It's almost got an old-time Space vibe about it.

Conversely, I can confirm that The Ultimate Battle for Asgard is a steaming pile. 400 pieces for $50 (I didn't pay that for it but still paid like $36 so). The ship is a jumble and not sturdy enough for a kid to play with. The Lego translation somehow makes the ship boring, which should be impossible. Valkyrie looks off. Comes with a Bruce Banner and not Hulk, and Bruce Banner just looks like some dude. Hela is the only redeeming quality.
