We got my dad this for Xmas, found it for around $60 (in yen) at a used shop. Seems pretty cool !!
Happy holidays everyone!
Just wanted to say I appreciate all the posts in this community.
Thanks for helping me create a lego backlog, something I would have never thought possible in the past.
So when should I head out to the Lego store for the new Batman minifigures? (Because that is the only place I feel comfortable feeling the bags. It's accepted behavior, and it's nice in that you can usually help out a kid or two, versus having to keep an eye out for employees and feeling like you're doing something wrong.)
Edit: Oh yeah, and got Assembly Square! Heck yeah! Also got a second of that VIP little Lego store diorama thing. Thinking I might cheaply modify it into one more full little store.
3: Star Wars The Last Jedi: Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter - Jangbricks had every right to be excited in his gushing review of this set, as the TIE Interceptor is a striking evolution of the TIE Fighter we all know and love.
Hey all -
Random question. My mom SWEARS she saw an ad for a Christmas Story set coming out, but I don't remember seeing that.
Anyone know if she's full of it or not?
Ah! Jealous you snagged that already. I'm normally really cold on the buildable figures but man that one looks great.Built the contraction Boba set yesterday, def the best they've done with the SW figures to date. Jetpack is a cool build and it does a good job of not looking anemic in the upper body (lower body still does tho). Will probably build the Egghead Mech tonight.
I'm not sure if it's allowed in this thread or not, but my wife got me the Super Star Destroyerset for Christmas. I've been having a blast putting it together so far and it has really piqued my interest in LEGO.Lepin
I'd prefer to go legit going forward, but where is the best place to pickup out of print sets?
To put it nicely yea no Chinese knockoff talk.
But you have come to the right place to enable your Lego addiction! For out of print sets you can get lucky scanning garage sales or places like Craigslist. Places like Bricklink will have most of the OOP sets you may want but they will be priced more at aftermarket values.
Another consideration is re-releases from Lego themselves which has been happening lately. Outside the UCS sets for Star Wars most of the iconic vehicles from Star Wars will get sets on shelves again at some point as they go in cycles. With new movies those cycles just may take longer.
I'm trying to debate if building Destinys Bounty will help or aggravate this damn cold.
I've not heard about something like that in Lego.
There is a Lego ideas set submission of the house from the movie that is nearly at 10,000 supporters. There have been news articles about that.
There's the Detroit Steel set that has a car that might fit IIRC.I got the Spider-Man set with Ghost Rider, and while the motorcycle is cool, I think a car (like Robbie Reyes) would be cooler. Has anyone built a MoC hot rod like that, or is there an official one that would fit the minifig Ghost Rider and his flaming hair?
Oh, nice. I can definitely use the instructions as a starting point and try to make a black one with a roof. There's the Detroit Steel set that has a car that might fit IIRC.
It is actually a TIE Silencer (which could be considered an evolution of the TIE Interceptor)
The Ideas Ship in the bottle - the bottle and stand look cleaner, the ship is not so ... lean, looks kind of thick and low

It worked! First 'custom' build. It's nothing like an official set but the result still looks pretty nice. Don't mind the bus, I use it as a stand for now.

Following up on my own post, but I found a set that will work, 75874. It has what looks like a black Dodge Charger, which is what Robbie Reyes drives. Looking forward to putting it together.Oh, nice. I can definitely use the instructions as a starting point and try to make a black one with a roof.
Yeah, forgot how much time a good build can take, I spent a hour or so on the first 3 bags of destiny's bounty. Planning to finish it tomorrow, had to work on a paper todayFinished bag group 5 on the Falcon tonight....8 hours spent thus far, wow.
