Bought a 64 GB, Space Grey, X yesterday. Absolutely loving the movement geustures, and how fluid the phone is. Am I crazy or is the Apple upgrade program a decent deal? 12 months of payments and then you get to upgrade to the next iPhone plus the sales tax seems like a deal to me especially since i use my phone so much.

You're probably slightly crazy. Most of the time you can sell the phone privately for more then the outstanding balance of your loan, pay the phone off and start a new plan.

Wrinkle with the X might be if Apple drops the price next year - eg $899 Iphone X2 / $999 IPhone X2 plus which may affect your resale value.

Someone should make an iOS OT. A proper, public jailbreak was released for legacy devices, which is pretty significant on its own, but it's important as it took a lot of time to get there.

Sounds like a security measure to ensure kids can't secretly scan your face and make a purchase, so probably not as horrible.

I do not use this feature, so I couldn't comment on the trouble of having to type your password every once in a while, but it doesn't seem that horrible to me.

I'm trying to figure out what circumstance a child would be able to trick you to I paying for something with your face, given that the phone requires you to look at it for authorisation, doesn't it?

That depends. If you have requires attention turned off, this wouldn't even be the case. But otherwise, just get mommies attention for a split second would be enough. You don't even need to keep the phone in place for a long time.

It would be hard, but you could pull it off, I think.

Pretty sure you can't use touchid on family purchases anyways. At least it never gave me an option on my 6s. Always had to put in passwords manually.

But mommy's attention has to be on the phone screen. Like, they would have to look at the phone screen and if they did even in passing they would see the big Face ID prompt

I'm literally waiting for nigel's supervisor to return from lunch to finish activating the phone. Apparently t-mobile didn't realize that people would get phones today.

Rumors of price drops early next year due to poor demand. Wonder how much they would drop if they did.

Poor demand? LOL. They just recently got the shipping down to a few days? They have never dropped price early

I should have bought a wireless charging stand that is propped up. I keep putting mine on the wireless charger and it must slip during the night

Their shares dropped on weaker than expected demand so, yes, it has had somewhat weak demand.

It was on my apple news feed, I'll see if I can find it again. It did say wild rumor but there does seem to be rumors already, wonder if they remove the price increase they put in for the other phones.

This "news" seems like more nonsense from the financial sector propaganda machine. iPhone X orders still won't fill immediately. It's a few days until shipment.
I mean... I guess... but just because it doesn't fill immediately doesn't mean it's performing as well as they thought it would.

Seems to make sense. They're going to ship out newer models of the iPhone X, and you're not gonna be able to sell the vanilla X for the same price as the enhanced models. And I think $1,000 is already exceeding what high-end phones are worth for most people.

True. But these rumors always abound. Every S year, in fact. These fat cats sell, try to lower the stock, then buy back in. Clockwork.

There's no new iPhone X until next year.

The X will drop in price when the XI is announced and not a day before

The idea this phone has weak demand is
laughable

If I'm understanding the issue correctly, wouldn't the proper solution be to set a "parent ID" and "user ID" instead of just removing the face id completey?

Okay let me get this straight

You want Apple to spend time/money coding this option and parents to go through extra unnecessary steps to protect their cards from purchases when current implementation works 100% fine for account security.

They also released an 8 and an X at the same time. They hever never done that before (with the exception of the 5C) 2 brand new models.

1) I'm not gonna cry crocodile tears over apple having to code things.

2)It was already there with touch id ( which uses the same api for face id), they just...removed it?

"Fuck you Apple do stuffs for my convenience"

No, but I have eyes and generally if I have to look at a screen I am capable of viewing what is on the screen. Lmao

So you don't know what you're talking about then ? Gotcha
