I've been having this same exact issue. So this is my exact issue:

Only it hasn't been fixed in 11.2 or 11.2.1. It's honestly making my mapping totally useless

Bought a 64 GB, Space Grey, X yesterday. Absolutely loving the movement geustures, and how fluid the phone is. Am I crazy or is the Apple upgrade program a decent deal? 12 months of payments and then you get to upgrade to the next iPhone plus the sales tax seems like a deal to me especially since i use my phone so much.
Wouldn't it happen to everyone if it was a software thing?I'm REALLY hoping it's software and not hardware. Even though it's a warranty thing changing phones is a hassle
Same issue here. Driving GPS seems to work though
However, iPhone X users have discovered that they can't use Face ID to approve family purchases.
I'm trying to figure out what circumstance a child would be able to trick you to I paying for something with your face, given that the phone requires you to look at it for authorisation, doesn't it?Sounds like a security measure to ensure kids can't secretly scan your face and make a purchase, so probably not as horrible.
I do not use this feature, so I couldn't comment on the trouble of having to type your password every once in a while, but it doesn't seem that horrible to me.
That depends. If you have requires attention turned off, this wouldn't even be the case. But otherwise, just get mommies attention for a split second would be enough. You don't even need to keep the phone in place for a long time.I'm trying to figure out what circumstance a child would be able to trick you to I paying for something with your face, given that the phone requires you to look at it for authorisation, doesn't it?
Any unbias input into just how horrible this decision is by apple?

But mommy's attention has to be on the phone screen. Like, they would have to look at the phone screen and if they did even in passing they would see the big Face ID promptThat depends. It would be hard, but you could pull it off, I think.
Anybody ever heard of this before? Does it work well?

Curse you for implementing next-level security, Apple, I wanted my kids to spend my money.Any unbias input into just how horrible this decision is by apple?

Pretty sure you can't use touchid on family purchases anyways. At least it never gave me an option on my 6s. Always had to put in passwords manually.
Interestingly, it still lets me use Touch ID on my iPad to approve, so it seems to be specific to the iPhone X/Face ID combo.
Damn, have to hit an apple store tomorrow.
I have lightbleeding thru my earspeaker thats super noticeable in the dark
Once i saw my sisters X and that it doesnt do that it pretty much pushed me to message apple support and they said there might be a problem with the seal
I knowww, and im going to the flagship store on 5th avenue
Slower, no water resistance (officially, at least), not as good camera, no stereo speakers.
Thanks. I'm sure it's night and day from the 4sSlower, no water resistance (officially, at least), not as good camera, no stereo speakers.
Has the plus of having an headphone jack.
Still a decent phone.
Yes
Absolutely.
Rumors of price drops early next year due to poor demand. Wonder how much they would drop if they did.
Poor demand? LOL. They just recently got the shipping down to a few days? They have never dropped price earlyRumors of price drops early next year due to poor demand. Wonder how much they would drop if they did.
What happened?
This "news" seems like more nonsense from the financial sector propaganda machine. iPhone X orders still won't fill immediately. It's a few days until shipment.Rumors of price drops early next year due to poor demand. Wonder how much they would drop if they did.
Their shares dropped on weaker than expected demand so, yes, it has had somewhat weak demand.Poor demand? LOL. They just recently got the shipping down to a few days? They have never dropped price early
I should have bought a wireless charging stand that is propped up. I keep putting mine on the wireless charger and it must slip during the night
I mean... I guess... but just because it doesn't fill immediately doesn't mean it's performing as well as they thought it would. This "news" seems like more nonsense from the financial sector propaganda machine. iPhone X orders still won't fill immediately. It's a few days until shipment.

True. But these rumors always abound. Every S year, in fact. These fat cats sell, try to lower the stock, then buy back in. Clockwork.Their shares dropped on weaker than expected demand so, yes, it has had somewhat weak demand.

There's no new iPhone X until next year.Seems to make sense. They're going to ship out newer models of the iPhone X, and you're not gonna be able to sell the vanilla X for the same price as the enhanced models. And I think $1,000 is already exceeding what high-end phones are worth for most people.
If I'm understanding the issue correctly, wouldn't the proper solution be to set a "parent ID" and "user ID" instead of just removing the face id completey?

It was on my apple news feed, I'll see if I can find it again. It did say wild rumor but there does seem to be rumors already, wonder if they remove the price increase they put in for the other phones.

Okay let me get this straight
You want Apple to spend time/money coding this option and parents to go through extra unnecessary steps to protect their cards from purchases when current implementation works 100% fine for account security.
No, but I have eyes and generally if I have to look at a screen I am capable of viewing what is on the screen. Lmao
1) I'm not gonna cry crocodile tears over apple having to code things.
2)It was already there with touch id ( which uses the same api for face id), they just...removed it?

Thanks for the discourse"Fuck you Apple do stuffs for my convenience"
So you don't know what you're talking about then ? Gotcha
