I played through the new Adventure with some of the Hi-Rez guys last night: Shadow Over Hercopolis.
I had a ton of fun with it. With the right group, it really feels like the old-school MMO raids. You have to learn the dungeon layout and memorize what to do in certain areas, and you have to carefully kite enemy groups and bosses. Cool loot drops that you equip. Fun little secrets. I recommend it for sure.

Been playing with Discordia, enjoying her kit a lot...
She has a decent clear though not on the same level as for example Rajin or other early game monsters. Her 1 / 2 combo does a decent amount of damage and is especially satisfying if you catch 2+ people in your Strife area. Her cooldowns are on the higher end but her third ability help with that as well as functioning as her escape. I feel like the that will be the most important ability to know when and where to make use of in order to be really good with her.
So far have been building her as below:
Pen Boots / Shaman's Ring or Book of Thoth / Obsidian Shard / Rod of Tahuti as the main items... Then usually been selling my starters for cooldown (Chronos Pendant) and power/health (either Ethereal Staff or Gem of Isolation), the order is down to the situation.

I started playing again after Season 3 pretty much ruined the game for me. Season 4 is a little bit better but it's still annoying as hell sometimes. I really wish relics/actives would go back to being not free and Cu/Artio need to seriously get nerfed.

I play it daily, as do several of my friends. Surprised it's not talked about more around here, honestly.
Honestly the only MOBA I was able to tolerate. I wasn't good by any stretch of the word and was always the weakest link on my team, but I had a lot of fun with my friends. I exclusively played Ymir and my K:D was pretty much 1:1, but I remember that each match I would get far far and away the most assists on my team. One of my friends would always choose to lane with me because he knew how to build around my weaknesses, so I'd tank tower and freeze opponents while he'd cover for me and kill the enemies while they were frozen and walled in. Man, I miss Smite maybe I'll get my boy back into it and jump back in.

I love the idea of smite but something about the execution is just really really unappealing to me. Maybe it's the clunkiness

As a Hindu, it is much more fulfilling to don the guise of Kali and slay some false gods

Seconded! (Even though I'm a console player and S5 isn't out till next week for us, I still do love me some Smite).
Did they ever get around to adding Set and some of the other missing Egyptian gods? Always was my favorite pantheon.
The last Egyptian god they added was Thoth. They're going a lot more slower with god releases, and with two new pantheons added for season 5, it should be a while for Set still

I never found the old site to be too enthusiastic about Smite, so I can't imagine ERA to be any different. Reddit is the place for actual discussion, unfortunately.

I really liked the game during closed Beta. It was colourful and fast-paced, easy to get into cause no difficult itemization system and fun as hell. And then they browned it up, made it more serious-styled and homogenized the gameplay with other MOBAs. Even added shitty lootboxes and timed exclusive skins out the wazoo. I stopped playing the main mode and went over to playing Arena only after a while, and stopped entirely shortly before they introduced the Japanese pantheon.
Yeah, it's pretty bad. But they got paid 7 million for that, so I can't really blame Hi-Rez there.
Yeah, I hated the design for the Conquest map. They redesigned it for season 5 though and it looks really nice. Gameplay is a lot more casualized, which could be good or bad depending on the person.
I was very wrong about this game. Used to really dislike it, something always felt off. I made the big mistake of playing the AI first, once i jumped into PVP it was sooo much better. Smite's gonna get played a lot for sure.
