This is, outside the fallen hero timeline, one of the first times we've seen Ganon basically be successful for an extended (over 20 year) period of time. Imagine a confident Ganon, a snarky Ganondorf who tells you that you have no chance since he killed you and all your friends 100 years ago. It just seems like such a regression from Ganondorf in OoT, WW, and TP. Heck, even Majora's Mask is more fleshed out and it's an inanimate object for the most part. Demise shows up for 5 mins and he shows Link some respect before he dies, even that's better than this.
If you have the trifecta, Link, Zelda, and Ganon, at least give him one line of dialogue, lol. I suppose though that the major triumph of this game as a whole is that it doesn't matter, the world is your motivation and your challenge.
Yeah, I feel the same. Wind Waker Ganondorf and OoT Ganondorf are my favourite in the series, and even though we didn't get to see too much of Demise, your encounter with him at the end was interesting (and personally, I enjoyed that boss battle more, too - it felt like a real sword fight and was intense).
I think they really wanted to throw out most conventions for this game, though, since they felt the series was getting stale and relied too heavily on old traditions and tropes. I think we've come to expect a certain pattern when it comes to the relationship between Link, Zelda and Ganon(dorf), as well as the structure of the story. I get the line of thinking, and it definitely worked out for the best in most cases. I applaud them for their boldness most of all. Hopefully in future instalments they can bring back some elements that made sense or worked better.
