We had a Famicom growing up. After that it was the Gamecube, which was the first console I bought with my own money, and it was a very bad investment (bought it for multiplayer, people I played with disappeared). DS was my first handheld.
Got everything post that and they were all great. I bought the Wii U post death to play Mario Maker but barely made any Marios. Got to play BotW at launch without buying a Switch. And I lost my Wii after lending it to nephews so my Wii U has more of a value now ᖍ(ツ)ᖌ
My last and first Nintendo home console was the Wii U
If you take into account Virtual Console and Wii games it's the best singular Nintendo console to own. You get access to all the great Marios, Zeldas, Metroids, DKs, and Kirbys. You even get Breath of the Wild!
Unless you got it for new games, then you're stuck with like 10 games.
Hah yeah it was really difficult to choose a game to start with! I admit that getting the Switch would had been even bit more special if I first booted it up with Botw or Odyssey, but M+R ain't bad either. Also hoping to see more Wii U ports, Mario Maker and Tropical Freeze would be excellent.
Sonic Mania and Mario+Rabbids were my first Switch games. Made getting Odyssey even more special.
