So I just booted this up for the first time after buying it for £18 on Black Friday, after the single player content was announced. Well, where is it? I'm still only seeing a bunch of crappy driving tests.

I don't have PS+ or any interest in online. But the announcement said 'mid December' for the campaign didn't it?

What a let down. I found it telling on the trophy pop for driving 65km that it only had like 66% who got the trophy. A third of buyers have played this for less than an hour...

I hate to break it to you, but the single player content is just more 'crappy driving tests' as you put it. It's effectively more mission challenges.

When this game was first announced as mainly e sports I was seriously dubious and had no interest in it whatsoever despite playing all previous installments barring GT6. I played about 80% of the campaign of GT Sport before I even touched the online element but since trying it I've never looked back.

I'd love to see more cars and tracks added and I like the competitive element of the campaign ie comparing times with my friends. But Sunday Cup etc against archaic AI? No thanks

Reverse ;)

So the GR3 track last night just didnt gel with me. it was my first time driving on it and i aced the Circuit experience sections pretty much on the first or second try but for the life of me i couldnt get a clean lap in. I posted over a dozen qualifying but just couldnt get it right. The races themselves were shocking. I was spinning out. Getting rammed because i kept breaking early or turning incorrectly. i finished last like four times in a row. once from the 6 position. didnt finish any race. Just shocking.

Maggoire is a GOAT track. Its got a flow to it.

The track looks simple but i saw so many yellow flags on each race that it has to be trickier than it looks. everyone from the back of the race to the top 6 guys kept spinning or going offroad. the trick was just to drive within your limits instead of aceing every corner.

Its a fast track, where if you push too hard and get on the grass you'll likely spin out. Especially after the successive corners.

Porsche Cup anyone ;)

porsche-normal.jpg

haha this is awesome. GT ERA keeps getting better.

Everyone is welcome :D

Porsche cup sounds ace - GR3, GR4 or N class ?

My wife wasn't happy that GT Sport monopolised our whole Sunday evening bit ahh well she'll learn to love it as much as I do

I know your pain, I've cut down on a lot of FIA races for this reason...

Reverse ;)

Nooo not Dragon Trail reverse!! Maggiore would be fantastic ;-)

I used to hate VGT until I tried the BMW VGT in the dailies today. The car is like a GT3 machine. Really fun to use.

I kind of hated myself when I enjoyed the BMW last night and then realized it was a VGT car. The damn thing doesn't even have a cockpit! Both BMW races I was in were a bloodbath though, almost the whole field of A-D DR rank players had red SRs in both races. Single make online races on Dragon Trail never end well.

I think people are learning. They no longer go two wide into the chicane at least.

Have they changed the chase cam view setting? I had the camera rotate around the car properly now it's glued to the back of the car. I saw some YouTube vids but their settings aren't doing anything for me.

Hmm just had the server boot everyone in the room just like what happened to us at the weekend - I wonder if the latest patch has added a bug. The bugger is it was for the FIA race so I can't do both of those tonight now :-(

Just got my wheel in the mail (Thrustmaster t300 RS GT)....Time to learn to race!

Are there good lessons on actually how to race pass, etc. Not just run clean laps?

I won a few today when I qualified on pole or 2nd. Had another couple where the race was ruined in the first few turns but had fun fighting thru the pack.

The GT League update hasn't taken place yet. All the said was coming in December without being more specific.

Just logged in and see maintenance notice: it's tomorrow morning, from 5:00 to 7:00 GMT+1 time.
Update time?

As always: remember to save your progress before it, just in case.

Damn. :( I got a game crash last night on the endurance daily right as the race was starting. I figured it might've been that maintenance message that popped up; hadn't seen that appear before for normal maintenance.

Well, one thing I learned from those races is that the DR meter can still go up even with a red SR. I went from 12th to 8th in a field of mixed DR ranks and ended up with a decent DR boost. No wonder people are willing to smash others to get ahead if they still get a positive DR at the end of it.

Another thing I noticed in the BMW is that the handling felt different between the time trials and the race. I was having trouble hitting the same points on those S curves during the race that had been easy on the time trial. Maybe the time trial cars have less fuel load?

New rule for the ERA league: NO REVERSING ON TRACK!

I've been laughing about this all evening :D I wanted to put a "Drive safe" message at the end but I haven't learnt how to do that yet.

I can't compete with Gvon (fantastic job BTW), but I also put together a video of all the passes from the Suzuka race that weren't just taking advantage of unforced errors (this was 90% of passes lol), loaded them up in grid start order.

I was trying to enter the pit, but as I came around that bend the car sitting there confused my spatial awareness of where the pit entrance was, as you can see I tried to turn late to get back towards it. Then it put me back on the track instead of near the pit where I needed to be, and I was forced to reverse to reach the pit as I didn't have enough fuel to make another lap. I suppose you would've had me quit the race, or somehow inch around the track and be a hazard the whole way round.

But I'm glad you had good laughs at the expense of people just trying to do their best. At least people got a good look at the sweet livery I designed.

Woah, calm down! I was only messing around! Apologies if I offended, it wasn't my intention. Besides as you say, your crash was so hard it put you through the wall!

EDIT: Also, I chose that thumbnail out of the three I was offered just because it had your nice livery on it...

Finally done reinstalling everything and it's still slow as fuck. Must be a save data problem. Here's hoping for the next update.
I lost all replays and photos though :( I thought they were stored in one of the save files. Luckily liveries are still there

No worries. I know I'm not as good a driver (yet) as some of you, so it just stung a little to come from a driver I respect. :) I didn't want to reverse, especially not there, but decided that was the least bad option in that split second. Totally fine with banning reversing, I just need to know what the fallback is in this kind of situation.

Damn. :/ I've made a habit of copying any photos I make to USB, but I think if you save photos or replays to your "Collection" they'll be saved to the cloud. Not positive of that, but I think that's what happens. Seems like that should happen automatically. Losing replays would be painful.

Sorry I didn't see you ask about photos and replays.

If you want to rule out the local save files as the problem, u can try deleting them and letting the game download from server. Or starting from scratch as a test to see if the speed improves, but only do this with a dummy account.

Well, thanks for the compliment (undeserved as it is!), but honestly the suggestion of banning reversing was only meant to be a joke to illustrate what a crazy situation had occurred. In the same race I reversed back onto the track after I span into the wall so don't worry about it.

I guess with hindsight, the best thing to do in that situation would have been to loop the car around in a big circle so you could judge the best time to nip across the track and back into the pits, but honestly in the same situation I'd probably have panicked and done exactly the same as you did. Everyone makes mistakes, it's only when people intentionally cause problems for others that it's a problem for me and that's what's been so great about the league so far, any racing incidents have been just that.

Did you reset the traction control every race because I turn it to zero but every time you go in it was back to the default 3

Just picked this up, I'm having WAY more fun than I expected. Sport mode is pretty damn cool, I jumped right in after hitting the driving school for a bit. I suck at taking corners "correctly" but already seeing improvement has me hyped. Not driving like a madman is a pretty new thing to me, coming off of playing FH3 a bunch in the last year but it's real refreshing tbh. Excited for GT League, whenever that comes out. Can see myself playing this casually for the next year +, easily.

No worries, actually as soon as I logged back in I remembered it worked like that in GT6 as well, so it's my fault. Anyway I already uploaded elsewhere my favorite photos and replays.

I'm mostly pissed at the menus, and at the inability to upload liveries with more than 100 layers. Kaz pls

It might've been hard to turn around considering it's a bit of a blind spot there with people coming around that corner fast. But yeah, the ResetERA races have so far been some of the cleanest races I've been in in GTS. Everyone is very respectful. I probably too quickly give up my position at times just because I feel like the other person is quicker, but I'd rather race clean and friendly than cutthroat.

Watching that video again, GTS could make for a pretty good pool game. "Aston Martin, corner pocket."

Did you reset the traction control every race because I turn it to zero but every time you go in it was back to the default 3

Yeah I always make sure because it sets itself back to 3 quite often. Maybe it's just placebo, or online lag or something? It just felt less nimble during the race.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure my Ferrari livery was 150-200 layers, and I was able to share that. Maybe it depends on the total file size of the decals?

The last Scud Race livery. Though this is more of a creative interpretation.

Welcome. I also think this game will last me a couple of years at least. Try your hand at the ERA events as well! And watch Gvon's entertaining commentary on the last event for a taste.

I'm wondering if it would be an idea to ban the hard tyre, forcing everyone to do 2 stops. It could lead to different strategies and mix things up, at the moment the only way to go is the hard tyre single stop.

That's not a bad shout at all.

Could lead to some interesting scenarios as it opens up the possibility of doing your fastest short stint on the supersofts at the start middle or end of the race.

I think it would be a great way of reducing the car capability gap as well. We should definitely look into it for when we start the league proper next year.

I also think a small number of points should be awarded for whoever sets the fastest lap in each race :)

I would like in on the weekly race series if there's room! I used to do something like that back in Forza 2/Forza 3 days and had a blast. I went back a handful of pages while I had time and saw the pre and post race posts but haven't seen the league rules yet or if anything is available.

I'm not great btw, Dualshock user and typically use some nannies (abs etc). Not a particularly fast driver either but I do try my hardest to race clean. Not sure if I'd be competitive with you guys in any way but someone has to bring up the rear and jam up lap traffic right? Lol. I'm not quite that bad but I'd say consistently bottom to mid field in most online races.

Let me know if there's room or point me who and what to look for! Psn romac1314

I'll add you on PSN later mate, definitely get involved if you can.

My wife wasn't happy that GT Sport monopolised our whole Sunday evening bit ahh well she'll learn to love it as much as I do

This is one advantage of the races starting at 1am for me. The wife is fast asleep in bed so I can just get on with it with no interruptions. The downside? I start to get really fatigued after 2am when the coffee starts to wear off!

Yay I feature! Around the outside on the hairpin, whew lad. That could have gone so wrong lol.

Yeah I thinking banning the hard tyres could really close things up and give you more options in a race. You'll probably get more action and overtakes too as people struggle on worn tyres or are on faster / slower compounds.

Wow 1am, that's dedication to the cause :-) So you working on contract over in Dubai?

I was gonna mention that overtake myself, never seen anyone slingshot around the outside to overtake there bud, very impressive :-)

Disappointed that the big content update didn't drop tonight. I guess it'll be over Christmas, or more likely December 31st.

No hard tires would definitely get more people mixing together as pits increase, could be interesting. Reminds me back in GT1 or GT2 there was a long endurance event with tire wear. I didn't know how to pit or change tires so I ran the whole race on my original tires. Towards the end I was doing giant Tokyo Drift sideways turns just to keep going. Still got 3rd place!

Haha thats what happened. Everything going wrong was the story of my night lol.

I was really gutted about that because firstly, I got put at the back after qualifying 4th
Pitted early on the mediums (was my plan) went to hards and started moving up the feild. I could see cars in the pit and would of jumped a few places then the crash happened lol.

Also thanks for all the kind comments about my vid lol.

mmm, could be. But still, the total would be less than 2MB. The upload screen lasts for over a minute, it should upload just fine.
I'll try making another using only shapes in the game, just to see what happens

But that's not the whole story. We recently chatted to the game's creator Kazunori Yamauchi about what we could expect from GT Sport's downloadable updates, both free and paid, over the next year or so. For a start, while there are some excellent fictional circuits and cars, Yamauchi reassured us that we'd be getting more realistic downloadable content as well. "So we plan on starting the DLC in December and that involves cars and tracks," he told TG. "So there will be Vision cars, production cars, cars that have historical importance and then of course we want to have real world motorsport tracks as well as fun fictional tracks. We're working on all these things."

Once of the most exciting new partnerships in GT Sport is the one with four time F1 world champion and Nico Rosberg Christmas card list absentee Lewis Hamilton. After the brilliant Ayrton Senna themed add-on for GT6, which had us wrestling an unruly Lotus 98T around Brands Hatch, will we be getting playable Hamilton-centric additions to GT Sport? "I think the relationship with Lewis Hamilton is going to continue and it's going to be a very good one, so I think you can look forward to more content involving him in the future," Yamauchi revealed. "And in the same respect, we actually have a very good relationship still with the Ayrton Senna Institute so it's possible that in the future you might be seeing more content regarding him as well."

I initially came out here on a contract 4 and a half years ago with my wife. We only planned on staying for the duration of my initial contract (2 years) but things went well and we witnessed the UK gradually falling apart from a distance so we decided to stay. I now run my own business here (last month marked the 1st year anniversary for it) and it's going well enough for me to not be rushing to go back to the UK. Hence I can stay up till the early hours of the morning to race with you guys on a Sunday and not suffer for it the next day, there's nobody to tell me off for having a bit of a lie in once a week :)

:( Trucks and buses (and VGT fantasy crap) are not why I bought GT Sport. I bought it to race real sports cars and race cars. Releasing a microbus is the kind of thing I'd expect them to drop as a fun one-off two years down the road after we have a big stable of great racing cars.

Here's Our First In-Game Look at GT Sport's New Cars

Earlier today, images started popping up across social media showing some of these cars. The majority come from Keiichi Akiyama, giving us our first in-game look at half of the rides set to arrive. There's the odd coupling of the F-150 Raptor and Samba Bus up top, and a whole host of new cars on the grid above.

We spot no less than five new additions (Swift Sport, RX-7, F40, R32 and R34 Skylines), and a Lexus LC500 done up in a SuperGT livery. No, not the actual race car; Kazunori Yamauchi has hinted at SuperGT's eventual inclusion, though.

Another Keiichi — drift legend Tsuchiya — was part of the Sukuka 10H Super Gran Turismo Championship event, too. He shared a GT Sport image on his Facebook pageearlier today, with an R32 Skyline done up just like his own:

With the cars playable in-game, it seems safe to expect them sooner rather than later for the rest of the player base. There are only 11 days left of 2017, and an important date in Gran Turismo history falls on Saturday. Keep your eyes peeled…

Yeah my thoughts too though to be fair they've promised 50 new cars before march, hopefully they've just picked those 2 to show that it's not all race cars... More tracks would be the bigger thing for me, hopefully we get the best real world tracks along with some old favourites.
