NSW lifetime sales this week - 2,988,399
NSW lifetime sales last week - 2,758,140

This mean ~230K Switch sold this week according to Famitsu.

Also let's go Odyssey, go for the 3 million dream, only 2 million to go. :p

One handheld Zelda sold over 1 million. It is also the best selling Zelda in Japan. It is probable that BotW will eventually surpass it.

No handheld Zelda game has sold 1m in Japan. Phantom Hourglass came close at 900k.

The best selling Zelda game in Japan is still the original on NES with roughly 1.7m sold, and it's unlikely that any game will surpass that. However, BOTW will very likely become the first game since Ocarina of Time to sell 1m.

Oops, guess I was a bit off. In any case, yeah definitely not surprising to see Zelda selling under a million. Do agree with BotW potentially hitting 1m though.

Breath of the Wild is about 800,000ish now (Not including digital numbers or update Wii U version) on Media Create.

What were Galaxy's sales in Japan? I think it didn't cross that much higher than a million.

Zelda: An interesting thing is that BOTW may outsell FFXV. FF is way bigger than Zelda in Japan. Just shows how they loved BOTW (or how were not fan of FFXV, heh).

Great result for Mario and Switch. Supply in Japan is still very much constrained, with several Chains still doing lotteries and other stores selling out of their allocations within the hour. Switch probably could have kept up with or surpassed 3ds' 4.3 million if stock were available. The fact that it wasn't, though, means that elsewhere in the world Switch is selling briskly enough to warrant a good stock allocation. Healthy situation for Nintendo, and 2018 will likely see a lot of sales momentum as a result.

SMO passed 1 million, and will likely continue selling. 2 million should be almost certain, 3 million is the dream.

Besides that, Splatoon 2 has likely passed 1.5 million physical sales this week as well, MK8D passed 900k sales, and BOTW Switch passed 700k (appendages all with likely). Great sales for Nintendo.

I'm really surprised BOTW hasn't sold a million on Switch in Japan yet. Looks nowhere near it. I thought someone at Nintendo had said BOTW was selling really well in Japan as well.

Breath of the Wild will do a million eventually. It will just take a bit longer but it has shown to be able to sell consistently with hardware. Considering Wii U and digital it should already be around 900k.

Fantastic numbers that are marred by the realisation it could be doing a lot more.

If there was no Wii U and if Switch was launched at the same year with PS4 and Xbox One, would it outsell PS4 and what would be the LTD? Can't image it...

Super Mario Odyssey is so impressive, damn!
SMO is the best-selling 3D Mario game in its first 8 weeks. Its only rival, Super Mario 3D Land, also had week 51 included in its first 8 weeks (week 51 is by far the biggest week for software and hardware: it's the famous week where the 3DS sold 482k units, and SM 3D Land sold 200k in that week. It'll be interesting to see how many units SMO can sell that week.

Week 9 for Super Mario 3D Land is: 84.986

SMO week 9 will blow that so easily ^^

It sold better than BotW? For shame, Japan.

(I guess Zelda just isn't that popular over there.)

(In a perfect world the sales of both these games would be 1:1 with Switch hardware sales. Everyone needs to own both of them.)

I think 2 million is a lock.

3 million, definitely possible. The title is going to be the charts for years to come. I mean Mario Kart 7 is still charting !

Looking forward to the MC numbers in some hours to check the difference, that's great !
And nice to see there hasn't been some weird argument made about those numbers here (yet)...

Switch seems to be on target to meet Nintendo's adjusted Fiscal Year target of 14 million. If I'm not mistaken it should also be on track to top Wii U LTD sales around the end of Dec/beginning of Jan, right?

Edit: end of Dec seems like a real possibility to pass Wii U LTD if stock holds.

Mostly like at the end of Dec from the looks of it.
