Going to try this!

Should be ok, but maybe it's expecting a headphone out and your car is expecting line level?

Have a look at Bluetooth aux adapters. I bought one for my previous car and it was super convenient

I did end up going this route, but since it has to tune to an FM station, sometimes I start to hear static dependent on where I'm driving.

Has anyone here tried the headphone adapter that comes bundled with the phone?

Unfortunately, my car (2012) does not have native bluetooth - so I was hoping to use the adapter to use an aux cable for my car. After plugging it in, it sounds like hot garbage. Lots of background noise.

Boy do I have something for you

Got my X a few days ago, moving up from a 6S and my god it's a great update. Got used to the gestures immediately, and Face ID is awesome. Kinda wish it was a little faster but I can live with it. Seems to work better with my old Samsung wireless charging pad than my S6 and Note 5 did when I had them.

One thing though, the service is pretty bad. Where I work the service already isn't great, but I was always pulling 1-2 bars on my 6S, my X just flat out gets nothing. Noticing at least 1 bar less than normal in my other usual spots. I figured it might've been the case I had on it, which was a cheap on my girlfriend brought me home the day I got it, and since I picked up a new one and reset the network settings for good measure and it has been better. Able to get 1 bar almost consistently at work. It's not that big a deal as I mostly iMessage anyways and I can do that on the Wifi.
I do have the model with the supposedly worse modem, but I'm fairly certain that's all I can get in Canada. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does your carrier offer WiFi calling?

It does, or at least they say they do, but I've never gotten it to work. If we need to we use Duo or our something like that to call.
It's not really that big of an issue for me, just a weird observation.

And I forgot to mention in my last post, but THE SCREEN. The blacks kill me. Literally can't tell where the screens edges are in apps that don't support the full screen yet.

I was very skeptical about AirPods, but they are indeed awesome. Was in Best Buy and just happened to ask the employee who came around to see how I was doing as I was playing with the MBPs. Stock showed zero and there were none on the rack, so I lucked out.

Tangentially, the coin pocket is the perfect place for them, but it meant I had to switch my phone to the left pocket. Where my keys normally go. It's been a rough few days.

iTunes is having a sale on movies for $10... which movie has the best use of HDR? I want to buy one so I can push my screen and be amazed!

Thanks for the quick suggestions! Is Dolby Vision HDR? I've noticed some movies state HDR, others like Mad Max don't.

There are two main standards right now. HDR10 (HDR) and Dolby Vision. The latter requires manufacturers to pay for a license, so that's why there's a fight going on. Vision is the better standard though, technically.

Got it, thanks for the heads up. I think I'll definitely grab MM Fury Road since I can watch it over and over again.

Since some are on sale for $10 CDN I'll grab a few :)

Left pocket is better for your phone anyway - right pocket can scratch against the coin pocket rivets if you're wearing jeans.

Has anyone scratched their phone yet? I'm currently traveling and suddenly noticed 2 somewhat deep scratches near the space bar. Made me super sad.

If you get Mad Max FR and have Movies Anywhere, you may get the Black & Chrome edition free on Amazon.

I did a few weeks after linking.

Nothing major on mine yet, but it seems prone to microscratches. I usually have a case but no screen protector, but I'll probably put on a tempered glass screen protector on this one soon.

Not sure if this is an iOS 11 thing (probably) or an iPhone X thing, but anyone else get micro-stutters after about a week without resetting your phone? Animations will "hiccup" and/or play twice, when rotating from portrait to landscape the screen will flash and flicker, stuff like that?

There's a decent amount of micro scratches on the steel band on my space grey unit. I'm using the Apple leather case. Strangely, the exposed bottom portion of the steel band has less scratches than the sides that are covered by the case. My guess is debris getting into the case, but I take it out and clean it every few days, so I'm not sure.

Both the front and back glass are flawless though, and that's my main concern.

Just can't get behind blowing that much money on some mediocrel-ly sounding earbuds. Every time I see someone wearing them, I judge really hard.

How many days has the iPhone X been out now, and Apple still hasn't updated the iTunes Remote app for it, or for iOS 11 at all. This is one of the only "extra" Apple apps I use every day, I don't get it.

So - I have not used or even unboxed the airpods (have been using my iPhone X for about 2 weeks). I'm deathly afraid of losing airpods - how do you guys manage it?

As long as they fit fine you'll have no issues at all. Whenever you're not wearing them they're in the case, which should be in a pocket.

I haven't felt at risk of losing one ever

Been using the iPhone X for 2 weeks now coming from the 6S+ and so far this phone feels like a major upgrade from the screen, to the build, to the camera and FaceID.

I love the full screen and the clarity the screen provides. I don't think I can ever go back to something smaller or something with bezels ever again and OMG OLED screen with True Tone is just beautiful.

The camera is beautiful and portrait pics is great on this. Best phone camera I've ever used.

FaceID is hit and miss sometimes but for most of the time it works. Kinda wish TouchID was around as another option though.

Overall, I love the iPhone X and this is the first major iPhone upgrade that I truly appreciate.

Got some AirPods from my girlfriends' parents for Christmas. Really liking them so far. I'm getting a bit of pain in my right ear since I'm not quite used to the hard "shell" of the bud, but hopefully I'll get used to it.

Swung by the Apple Store today while finishing my Christmas shopping. Got to check out an iPhone X but...man, I think the iPhone 8 Plus stole the show for me. I have a regular 6 now, but my next upgrade, I might go 8 Plus. That screen...

The sound pleasantly surprised me.
I just don't want to step down from the sound quality of my current Sony earbuds or my MDR over-the-ear headphones. The moment Apple drops AirPods that are acclaimed for matching the higher-end earbuds, I'm all in. I do fear how much they'll cost, though.
