Nice to see the patches started rolling.
Many people were sure we wouldn't see any until 2018, and we may see more than this.
downloading as I speak
I agree with
Edge
I'm actually tired of hearing this. Nope, I'm not discussing this bollocks anymore.
But spending 200 for just playing PUBG is smarter or what? Even as secondary console this isn't smart. Specially if you have a PS4. To get a console, even if it's "just" 200 bucks that is worse than the 4 year old PS4, that you might already have, is the real waste of money here and it just doesn't go into my head how people really can do this.
Yeah, the next gen is probably coming in 2 years, but this would be 2, TWO YEARS with the actual strongest console on the market, this is a long time and if you play much, probably a hundred of hugely improved games that you can enjoy.
How cheap can someone be?
"Because the next gen maybe comes in already two years". Just wow.
I don't agree with
Deception
I don't get how you can honestly recommend that someone pays a premium for a secondary console with an ecosystem that they more than likely do not have anything invested in. I have been with the Xbox brand for over 15 years and even I cannot confidently recommend that someone get an X unless they realistically see themselves investing in and staying with the Xbox ecosystem.
Here's how I recommend:
1) Powerful machine, unmatched power for dollar ratio. Very well built too.
2) All new games are going to be best here.
3) Back compatiblity with enhancements.
So, for someone "not invested" in xbox ecosystem, what better time than now?
you are getting a great machine that will play for you the best versions of this gen, and amazing versions of older games, that since you are "not vested" are ~new for you.
So, not only you will get to play the best console version of PUBG,
but also you'll get to play the best version of Red Dead Redemption 2 in a few months,
and also you'll get to play the best version of Red Dead Redemption 1, better than it was (if thats a ps3 "investment" yeesh!)
A guy who is "not vested", can play for his first time Gears of War 3, but now in 4k enhanced. or Rare collection. See?
And ms is offering a game pass and also ea access, and making "investments" in happy time ('cause that's what consoles exist for) sure is not as expensive as you make it sound.
Rubberbanding is the same on PC. Wasn't an issue until a recent patch on the test servers (one with the latest changes).
But it's always been a problem. As I understand it, in the past they just never accurately showed your position server-side-- so you were under the illusion you were moving smoothly, but you really weren't. Previously, you couldn't pick up items or open doors, and now you just teleport backwards (and still have trouble picking up items and opening doors, but not as bad, maybe). I actually prefer rubberbanding, because at least I know what I'm seeing is more accurate than before.
oh boy, if we are to call server rubberbanding "preferable", something is not right.
Just let them sort it out.
since day 1 of xbox release I wrote that in my opinion most if not *everything* performance related (not bugs) has to do with server-side stuff, and not local machine. And what you say here, it only reinforces my thinking.
