Not seeing any improvements in terms of anti-aliasing. Shimmering all around me just now in a area with buildings. Guess it really was only improved for base Xbox One and S.

I don't know why but for some reason the lag seems a whole lot worse today than the other days. Of all things that they intend to fix and improve i hope that is one of them because man...lag....that was a thing of the past for all these years.

Edge

I have the S. I've only played 2 games since the patch and both were lagging quite heavily at the start, so it was hard to notice if the game was running smoother.

Managed to get 6th position. Killed 7th Position as i saw him prone in the grass and i snuck up on him and hit him with the frying pan, which got me killed as i left my own hidey-hole........ Totally worth it :-)

I'm turning DVR back on now. Too many epic moments.

Edit: Strangely enough, i have less lagg on the NA servers than the EU ones, and i'm based in the UK so i don't know whats going on there?

I DO really appreciate how the killing seems realistic. With that i mean enemies are not bullet sponges like in several other games. Unless it's my aiming but even in Battlefield i have to shoot so goddamn many times for a kill, here in PUBG i put my red dot sight on a player, i crouch down, put the ROF to single and a few shots is enough. Do not change this please!

But then there are strange thing too, fully driving into someone just downs them....this should end their life right away though. :) Although i can't deny that the few times someone crashed into me and my friend being able to revive me was damn good. Hmmm....

Yeah the server lag is still pretty awful, even on the X but thankfully it's only at the start of a match, mostly.

Rubber banding is server side, right?

Gonna boot up the X and see what's what. Gonna be kind of wild if a lot of the complaints from the various folks are gone within a week of release.

I rarely, if at all, get it after the first few minutes.

That is true, although i did get quite a few of it in the middle of a match earlier this morning. But it has to a few friends of mine that they got killed soon after landing thanks to the lag. How is this currently on PC?

Of course, it's "just" a server thing and correct me if I'm wrong guys, but this wasn't as prominent, if not even there at all in the first 2-3 days. I almost never had these lag problems there, only fps drops, which are thankfully gone now.

Good good. It's just a few things but real important things that need to be adressed. But despite these things it's such a damn fun game. I'm still surprised about that.

Can't wait to get home tonight to test the new update. The performance has always been playable, but there's definitely the need to get improvements.

I haven't noticed much difference but it was only part of a match as I had to abandon the game. I parachuted a long way from the plane and got the hospital to myself. Got some loot but had to leave my character there, to be taken eventually by the blue.

Ironically I came back and found I had got 36th place, literally by standing still (post drop).

I've had that happen with the old build too, not sure why. I just cancel out of the pop up message now, you still get your stats and your BP.

Happening for me each game now, but as you said, everything is tracking correctly.

Nice to see the patches started rolling.
Many people were sure we wouldn't see any until 2018, and we may see more than this.
downloading as I speak

I agree with Edge

I'm actually tired of hearing this. Nope, I'm not discussing this bollocks anymore.

But spending 200 for just playing PUBG is smarter or what? Even as secondary console this isn't smart. Specially if you have a PS4. To get a console, even if it's "just" 200 bucks that is worse than the 4 year old PS4, that you might already have, is the real waste of money here and it just doesn't go into my head how people really can do this.

Yeah, the next gen is probably coming in 2 years, but this would be 2, TWO YEARS with the actual strongest console on the market, this is a long time and if you play much, probably a hundred of hugely improved games that you can enjoy.
How cheap can someone be?
"Because the next gen maybe comes in already two years". Just wow.

I don't agree with Deception
I don't get how you can honestly recommend that someone pays a premium for a secondary console with an ecosystem that they more than likely do not have anything invested in. I have been with the Xbox brand for over 15 years and even I cannot confidently recommend that someone get an X unless they realistically see themselves investing in and staying with the Xbox ecosystem.
Here's how I recommend:

1) Powerful machine, unmatched power for dollar ratio. Very well built too.
2) All new games are going to be best here.
3) Back compatiblity with enhancements.

So, for someone "not invested" in xbox ecosystem, what better time than now?
you are getting a great machine that will play for you the best versions of this gen, and amazing versions of older games, that since you are "not vested" are ~new for you.

So, not only you will get to play the best console version of PUBG,
but also you'll get to play the best version of Red Dead Redemption 2 in a few months,
and also you'll get to play the best version of Red Dead Redemption 1, better than it was (if thats a ps3 "investment" yeesh!)
A guy who is "not vested", can play for his first time Gears of War 3, but now in 4k enhanced. or Rare collection. See?
And ms is offering a game pass and also ea access, and making "investments" in happy time ('cause that's what consoles exist for) sure is not as expensive as you make it sound.

Rubberbanding is the same on PC. Wasn't an issue until a recent patch on the test servers (one with the latest changes).

But it's always been a problem. As I understand it, in the past they just never accurately showed your position server-side-- so you were under the illusion you were moving smoothly, but you really weren't. Previously, you couldn't pick up items or open doors, and now you just teleport backwards (and still have trouble picking up items and opening doors, but not as bad, maybe). I actually prefer rubberbanding, because at least I know what I'm seeing is more accurate than before.
oh boy, if we are to call server rubberbanding "preferable", something is not right.

Just let them sort it out.

since day 1 of xbox release I wrote that in my opinion most if not *everything* performance related (not bugs) has to do with server-side stuff, and not local machine. And what you say here, it only reinforces my thinking.

Yup feels a bit better, I'm also not immediately hurting myself on bikes after it suddenly wants to backflip off a small bump lol

I just got 2nd place in my last game. It really is addictive.

Everything Petran said and i would add:

They actually listen to the players by constantly updating the dashboard, adding features like Dolby Atmos. Does the competition even have that? Even if it's subjective the controller is a whole lot better and lasts a WHOLE lot longer too in terms of battery life. Most good reasons have been mentioned too. Personally i would definitely save up for the X instead yeah. And especially read this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/7kowds/you_can_currently_price_match_the_xbox_one_x_best/

350, maybe even 300 bucks is amazing if you can get that to work.

Some kid threw across the map and landed it perfectly near me. Felt like I was playing cod again.

So some patch thoughts:

  • The yellow indicator is a great change
  • Runs a bit smoother in the lobby--noticeably so?
  • Plane seems the same
  • Parachute seems smoother, although I could have sworn that got smoother a couple of days ago?
  • Not much rubber banding or anything when I landed, and that was a relatively smoother experience as well
  • Still getting "The match is still in progress. Continue?" prompt after a match

Yep, excited to give the patch a try tonight as well. Wonder if it helps with the rubber banding.

As discussed a bit above, that's a server-side issue. That being said, I experienced little-to-none in the game I just played. There was a slight bit of lag after I landed and then that was that. Overall, a smoother landing/transition-to-looting experience.

New patch broke inventory. Can't go down on ground items. Hitting down on the dpad just takes me over to wearing section

Sneaking through the grass with a gun that has a 8x scope, I heard these jeeps driving around and one decided to take a smoke break I guess, this was my chance and I popped his head like a melon for sure.

Later on I was on the beach, spotted a boat and clearly a dude behind me too and he was shooting at me. I managed to get to the boat first and went away with it. He decided to start swimming and after failing to shoot him from the boot I just sailed right over him. Ah man the satisfaction you get from kills in this game.

This game is the SHIT!

And yes I noticed it now too, the overall framerate definitely is smoother now, definitely noticed that during the boat ride and also in dune buggies.

The game deserves praise for the sound experience because man, gunshots, explosions, footsteps and so on, it's great. There's just something about when you roam through those woods and you hear gunshots in the distance, you hear jeeps and dune buggies driving around and you can tell where they are coming from too. And when they get nearer while you lie down in the grass, tension!

I've had this issue pre-patch. Sometimes if you tab through our inventory it gets "lost" when you go to try and do proximity loot. If you just keep hitting down on the dpad most of the time it will kick over to the proximity. Another fix is to open your inventory and tab around and make sure its on proximity section and then close it.

Played a round post patch. Maybe it's just a placebo effect but the game did feel like it was running better. Input lag is still a problem and the game has a long way to go in general, but I feel like the patch did something.

Playing on an OG Xbox One for those who care.

I played a couple of post patch matches and they felt slightly more stable, loading area was better and so was general gameplay. Once I entered a smaller circle area with 30 still alive though it was starting to chug a bit. Looting and opening doors once you have just landed felt better to me somehow.
