The original actually do really well for Atlus in the west

catherinescakexesfi.jpg

That was for shipped units, but it was still a huge amount for Atlus to ship for a game in that period of time.
Right on. I am well aware of that. I should have clarified, as successful as it was for Atlus, it remains a niche game. Compared to even P5. What I mean is now with PS4's huge install base I'm glad even more people will experience it .

Troy not coming back is a safe assumption unfortunately. He hasn't reprised a non-union Japanese game dub role in almost 4 years or taken any new ones in a bit over 5.

Laura Bailey is 50/50 though. She does return to older roles when she can make it work, but doesn't take new non-union game roles and will bow out if she has a schedule conflict. Travis Willingham and Liam O'Brien also have decent chances of coming back.

Yuri Lowenthal, Michelle Ruff, Erin Fitzgerald, Kirk Thornton, Jamieson Price are all safe.

Ahh well that's unfortunate then. Oh well here's hoping they find some good voice actors to take up the mantle

I am kinda afraid. The protagonist is an asshole and the literal word of God is transphobic so the game is one single step away from being a mess .. so I hope they choose those new scenes very carefully

This is also a good way to get Studio Zero started working on stuff while still hiring for their main project.

Great game. Don't think I have a need for a remaster, but I'd definitely buy a sequel. And this could hopefully help fund one....

... They went with Rin for the new name?

Perhaps Rine is short for Kattorine.
Still terrible. Like, this actually makes me irrationally mad. YOU HAD ONE FUCKING JOB ATLUS.
Wonder if they has lowered difficulty. This has to be the most difficult game to get the platinum trophy
Iirc, it wasn't *that* bad, outside of the bug that made Babel mode literally impossible without two players / without using two controllers and playing both characters (which is what I ended up doing).

Persona Dancing All Star/Moon
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Utawarerumono 1
A Certain Magical Virtual On
And now this, Catherine Full Body

Will Atlus really localize 5 games for Vita 2018? I really want them to even if it's digital only. They're already localizing 4 games for 3DS anyway.

I have seen the game sold 260k in Japan and 230k in NA by the end of 2011, which are very good numbers. But do we know how it did on Europe?. It was a late release on 2012 but I hope it sold well enough to justify a simultaneous world release this time.

  • Development is a collaborative effort between Atlus and Studio Zero.
  • The third "Catherine" is named Rin (voiced by Aya Hirano). She is a pianist at Vincent's regular bar, and has an exceedingly honest and gentle personality. Rin's involvement in the story will introduce a new perspective to the other two "Catherines."
  • A large amount of new endings, episodes, anime movies, and sexy events are being added.
  • The subtitle "Full Body" was chosen from the wine term, and exemplifies an even richer and somehow more erotic new Catherine.
  • A wide range of difficulties and convenient systems are being prepared.
  • There is a new mechanic where you move blocks when multiple are connected. There is also a new mode.
  • There are online battles.
  • There is cross-save support.

I'm not sure that half a million copies sold in the first year of release can count as a niche game.

Anyway, did Atlas clarify what "remake" means? Because that has a very specific meaning compared to a remaster.

New scenes, new character, new mechanics. It's like persona 4 golden to persona 4.

What are the odds of a physical western Vita release? I'd instantly buy it of course.

Catherine reminds me of what I've been saying for years, we need a Persona game featuring young adults. Enough with the teeny stuff.

I have zero faith in them not making things worse. I wish they had remade something else

Ahahah Vita. What a weird choice for a new version of this game.
Shame it's not on every platform but will buy it again on PS4.

Why? 3DS has sold 68+ million so it makes perfect sense to release games for it.

Right, but many of us prefer to move forward. It's pretty hard to play on a 3DS screen with 240p, after playing with cell phones, Vita and Switch, where the resolution differences are abysmal.

It would also make perfect sense to release those games in PS2 or DS instead of PS4/3DS/Vita/Wii/whatever because they both sold 150+ million, but you cannot stick to the same systems forever.
