I still don't have a win, # 3 is the best i have done. I can finish in the top ten though enough on solo to keep trying. Not winning is not really all that frustrating in this game.
Man, the tap-for-ADS has gotten me killed so many times. My muscle memory of squeezing for ADS keeps taking over. I also want to throw grenades with RB and it switches me to 1st person mode.
Do they let you reassign controls on the PC version?
The only items that provide armor are the helmets and police vests correct? Everything else is just for looks?
Been trying to land near Stalber recently, usually get some decent things there, and its far enough away that most people are ignoring it. How come so many people always bail as soon as you can? They all end up next to each other and kill each other.
Overall this game is a ton of fun, both Chicken Dinners were when I had crap gear. Everytime I get setup with Level 3 stuff, scopes, SCAR's, etc.. I get creamed by something stupid.

I hear you. I always seem to be running from the wall of death when I'm the most decked out. I can get top 10 pretty regularly but so far that chicken dinner eludes me. I've gotten 2nd though! So close.

Oh, I'm aware that that's likely the reason we didn't/haven't gotten it. I just really would like it, in an ideal world and all.
So, any hints as to when the first client-side update goes out? Tomorrow? Next week? January?
Man oh man, I've never quite enjoyed a online game so much and also a game I can easily play every evening. No online game, be it Battlefield, Battlefront, Halo, CoD has done this for me in a long ass while.

This game is Lagg as hell when you first drop. I just got killed by a guy who punched me to death when I dropped before him and picked up the AKM becuase I was lagging.
Depends in what way. Do they mean in terms of aiming, accuracy and input lag? Because yes, the shooting itself feels good as in satisfying. Despite these issues I cannot put the game down.
Imagine if it had accuracy like a Gears or Halo 5,shiiiiiiieeeeet.
Yeah, it's easily the most addicting online experience I've had so far. Easily.
I think this is (partly) an issue of almost every other shooter having aim assist vs none at all. I was basically groomed on some Dreamcast era shooters (and Goldeneye with aim-assist disabled w/ pistols), and this doesn't feel overly "off" unless there's a network issue. Which isn't me saying it feels particularly "good," but I think it's partly apples to oranges; the game design benefits from players having to put thought into their shooting.
All that being said, oh HELL YEAH it feels janky compared to the ease of other games, lol.

It's everywhere right now. Amazon, Target, Best Buy, etc. I think it is part of MS' holiday deal.

People complaining about the shooting in PUBG must never have played the old Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games from 15-20 yrs ago. Personally, I think the shooting is really good in PUBG. The long-range game in particular is excellent. I know my friends and I have been waiting for the return of this style of shooter for years now and we are super happy to see PUBG deliver it for us.

I'd love that as well, if they can manage to keep the frame rate reasonable.
Because it's the best piece of console hardware out right now and it is future-proofed (until the next gen). Personally, I couldn't buy something like the S knowing the X is so much better. But I also have the discretionary income to spend, so I get it.
But they are asking the cheapest way to get in. The S is going to be the best option for many, many people who do not care about the power of the X or the price.
Oh, sorry, I should have been clearer: only some have asked the cheapest, others have asked my general recommendation. It'd be nice to have both for those that don't put any qualifications on it.
Yeah, I don't think there is anything wrong with playing on the S either. I have been playing with a lot of friends and its been a mix of X and S users and it isn't like the X users can see enemies in the distance that the S users can't. Granted I'm one of the X users, so I guess I wouldn't know what its like on the S, but one of them plays PUBG on a nice PC and he says jumping on the S to play with us doesn't hamper his enjoyment whatsoever.
While it's without a doubt the best console hardware you can get right now, the X is hardly future-proofed.
It's made to run Xbox One games at a higher res and/or with bumped assets. That's the pitch.
Once next-gen arrives in two years or so, it will likely be similarly struggling like the current S model is now. That's just the way of things.
Last thing I need right now is stuff to tank the performance even more.
It is definitely not easy compared to other games. I feel like the game would be completely different if aiming and shooting was 'easy'. While not 100% accurate, shooting in this game feels a lot closer to actually shooting guns. They're loud, they kick, and typically they're not laser pointers to your target. Combine that with non-military people handling them (I don't know what the lore in the game is, I'm assuming everyone is a regular joe) and it seems pretty correct.
I do like that you have a decent chance to get away when someone is shooting at you in the open by zigzagging and running. It's pretty tense for sure.
I'm still torn about aim assist. There has to be an amount that will even out the highs and lows and not take away the survival feel.
Get a X, the normal one isn't worth a shit anymore. Only if you like ultra low textures and crashes every second game of course. Don't be cheap on this. It's worth it for every single game out there.
I like this disclaimer. It would be hard to judge an aspect of this game if we didn't compare it to other games. :P

Plus I don't have a 4K television and the list of games I want to play on an XBO are as follows: PUBG, Cuphead, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon and Ori. An S is more than enough for me.
So how do the crates work then, i know once you buy one the next one costs more and so on but do you get better stuff out of the more expensive crates the more you buy in a row or is it random, in which case is it best to buy just 2 in one go and then leave it a day as the cost of the crates resets back to 700 BP?
No, the increased cost does nothing for crates contents.
Do NOT listen to these people saying to get the X. Get the S and save yourself $300 dollars and then in 2 years when next gen arrives, you can judge what you want to do from there.
Hell yeah, you said it and I 100% agree. I was a little afraid I wouldn't like a game where I wouldn't respawn at least a few times but it turns out this is one of its strongest points.
Permadeath makes everything feel worth it. It adds a weight to the gameplay and decision making that is missing is many other shooters.
It's also why I love Siege tbh.
One thing is for sure now though, I'm keeping HDR disabled for this game. Been playing all evening with it off and it looks so much better. Nowhere does it look dark where it shouldn't and it just looks right. HDR at the moment isn't an addition at all for me.

Having so much fun with this game. Playing with a squad of 3 mates all with mics is great. Seriously getting addicted to this, I kept dreaming about the game in my sleep last night!
