Just played a game where my buddy's console hard locked, his character continued running straight, and then he was able to reload the game and join in progress. I had no idea that was even possible

I did the same thing and feel the same way. Reinstalled it today
I feel like I owe an apology to fortnite. I initally sorta hated on the shooting and the frame rate and the graphics on xbox one but I played a few matches today and man that's actually a super polished experience compared to pubg.

i'm in the same camp. re-installed today and wow... what a night and day difference. and fortnite is still something i would consider janky with bad FPS dips. but in COMPARISON? OOOOOO weeeeeee. Prices should be flipped.

Look, it's clear you don't like the game and that's totally fine. You've said as much many times now and your opinion is valid.

You also said you were stepping away from the thread since getting your refund. Continuing to come in here to take your little shots, isn't going to fly.

It's very weird it's crashing that much, I'm on an OG and out of 20 matches or so it's crashed 4 times I think.

Maybe try turning your DVR thing off, idk if it makes a difference but it might.

Just read that you can use the chatpad or a wireless keyboard on the Xbox version for reloading, inventory option and so on.

Holy shit, that was amazing.

Yeah, the one crash I had, I did NOT expect to be able to jump right back in. I wanna say that was one of the first rounds I made Top-10, too.

We also shouldn't pretend like other preview games are released in this state. I bought elite dangerous day one on preview and it was completely acceptable. A few minor frame rate hiccups but the game worked 90% perfectly. We shouldn't excuse a game releasing like this with no demo. Regardless of what they claim, a demo would clearly hinder sales. This shouldn't be disregarded as the developer has made other odd comments lately regarding laws protecting his game from competitors.
I really don't understand how other preview games have anything to do with this. The standard for previews are set by MS not by the competition, the guidelines of which can be ready on MSs website. A more accurate comparison would have been to the active preview program of PUBg on the PC.

Bluehole fighting for protection from games like Fortnite have nothing to do with this either.

We all wanted this to be better at launch, but it is what it is. You were not conned. You were warned and chose to take the risk. Your impatience cost you, not misleading practices by MS or Bluehole. Impressions were out more than 8 hours before this officially went live. This forum had a ton of members playing with codes from Cdkeys and they were very open about the issues.

I'm prob gonna jump on this once I get a X1X, got a One S at the moment and this is looking a bit grim.

Also I have a fairly decent rig that keeps this at 60fps most of the time... so that'll sate my PUBG ness in the meantime.

I do want to play with controller though against all controller people, it's a 4K / Couch / Lounging thing.

Feeling scammed and admitting that I fucked up for trusting fanboys is not interchangeable. They can exist together with zero issue.

"Buyer beware" and all that (which I mention specifically in agreement to how someone can easily feel both). Though to be fair, scams don't exactly give you a full refund. Any reason you're still hanging out in the OT?

word. haven't engaged though to defend any points, moreso just quoting people that i agree with and share the same sentiments with. i'm not arguing with anyone in this thread or replying to people who enjoy the game. and haven't since i said i wouldn't. i'll try the fortnite OT

How did you get a refund? I tried and they declined it. Salty Ramen got a refund as well but they flat out said no to me when I asked. I would kill to never have spent that $30 on this game. Really irks me and normally I don't care about that kind of stuff.....This one just really really pisses me off.

Why ask? You can do a manual refund on account.live.com.

Some network spikes tonight, but another night where I simply can't put this down. What an addicting experience.

Man, this game really gets your heart pumping. When it's only 15 left in a small area it's always crazy and pretty exciting. I can imagine playing this game with friends would be a blast too

Would this really help much? For me personally I would think taking my hand completely off the controller would eat up even more time than simply holding X/pressing Menu button. That said, I'm using an Elite Controller anyway so I have the paddles to work with if I want. Maybe for leaning? Haven't decided if I need em.

I've been exclusively duoing with a good friend (and convinced another to buy it tonight with that Cdkeys Unity 'deal') and it's a blast! It's also far less stressful feeling. In a duo I can stay calm and collected until the end of the match for some reason.

The 3 or 4 times I've solo'd... oh man it's intense! Heart races in the final run up.

I love Fortnite, Un-surprisingly it was my most played game this year when i did the 'year in xbox' thingy.

Unfortunately, i can't see myself going back after playing this, not for a long while at least. Fortnite is a fun game, but it feels super casual. I do however love the 50 vs 50 mode. It's a shame they arent keeping it in. I'd play just for that.

Re: the Battle Royale mode (even early in the patching process) I thought the people complaining about performance were nuts. In the sense that I saw a lot of people assuming the PvE mode performance from the DF piece were characteristic of the 100-player mode. It always seemed reasonably polished.

To be clear I'm totally enjoying pubg from what I've played. Love how big everything is and how epic things can end up. Love the sound effects the fun with friends, the whole formula. When I went back to Fortnite there are things like weapon visability, the UI, just how clear the graphics are on the xbox one x that I appreciate more now. Also the framerate seems a lot better than what I remember on base xbox one. Also they already have daily and weekly challenges which I think is a nice touch. That's the sort of stuff I'd expect for a game that will be played for years on end. I still don't really get the whole build out thing, but I suspect that stuff would make a lot more sense if I gave the full game a shot down the road.

Have played about 25 games so far and zero crashes for me thus far. I did have 3 games yesterday where it was very laggy, but the last 2 last night were pretty smooth.

Still no word on when the next update will be?

I've definitely noticed the network spikes tonight, and also can't put it down. It seems like the Xbox community as a whole is getting better at the game overall. Matches are getting a lot more interesting with more people having the shooting mechanics down.

I've had 3 crashes so far, the last one I was pissed because I had a decent gun and a swweet spot and player count was in the low 40s. I cursed. Then reloaded the game, and was asked If I wanted to rejoin my game. "F yes!" player count was at 29, I made it to 15 and the circle got me. Sucks it crashed, nice you can rejoin them, I'm guessing only if nobody finds your character and kills them, while its reloading.

Got my first chicken dinner in a squad match - the best I've managed solo is 2nd. I think I'll try to win a duo next, then go back to solo. I actually really like squad. It's a blast when everyone is communicating.

I'm more or less using the persuit of a solo chicken dinner as my training for being a contribution in a squad. Within the next week, I'll probably have another ten hours of playtime. That's a lot for me, recently.

I've heard some people say there is less crashing if your game is installed on an external; I have no idea if that's true, but I haven't had a single crash (external).

Mine is on an external and hasn't crashed. The crashes are weird though. A friend who plays on Xbox One will crash if he drives a car/bike full speed. If he is the passenger, it doesn't crash the game.

Yeah it is not great that these locks happen, but the fact that the character keeps moving in the same direction until you log back in is pretty cool. It is like your character for two minutes is an insane runner and if you can get back in before someone spots him you jump back in like nothing happened.

Had so much fun with it. Today decided to play Halo 5 for a couple hours and the PUBG. Woof. Even Destiny crucible at 30 was sluggish as heck after H5 at 60 and 4K.

Never really saw the frame rate thing until today going back to back.

Still got my money's worth with 15 hours of PUBG so far.

using the elite controller, mapping buttons to the paddles, and upping the sensitivity is making this game much better.

But im still not confident in a firefight. Anybody have some good sensitivity settings for aiming. Im at a good place as far as moving around and looking around picking up loot. But ADS and following targets with a scope...are shaky at best.

also. How do i honk the horn in a vehicle. Ppl have been doing this at me. Ive pressed everything and haven't been able to yet

Just got first chicken dinner in squads. Wow. So amazing. No other experience on console matches that feeling leading to a chicken Dinner.
