Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first one I played. The next one was The Twin Snakes (better than regular MGS, folks). Then 2 and 4. I still have to play Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.

Director of the Twin Snakes cutscenes made this awesome flick everyone should check out:

Although The Twin Snakes was largely developed at Silicon Knights, Ryuhei Kitamura directed many of the game's cinematics while Silicon Knights implemented them into the game[5]to look identical to those in the original Metal Gear Solid, but upon inspection Hideo Kojima asked Kitamura to redo them in his well-known action style.

Someone need to show Huber this.

Just heard about it on the 8-4 play podcast. They've (the city) started this tour guide that visits the location from Shenmue, they even compare it with screenshots from the game on the pamphlet. It seems they're working on an English version of that.

Last of Us or Grand Theft Auto V would be my guess.

How they tore Skyrim apart certainly rubbed me the wrong way.
Huber already nominated TLOU earlier this year, it barely avoided being banned. GTAV would probably get an even worse reception.

I wonder how Deus Ex would fare if it were nominated. I know Huber loves it (maybe Blood too?) and they did the retrospective last year, so a few of the Allies should be quite familiar with it. It's such an incredible game, comfortably my second favourite RPG (behind Suikoden 2), and there are even mods out there that help modernise it and avoid the ridiculous "doesn't hold up" nonsense.

Another big question mark is the first game from this century that will get in. Shadow of the Colossus? DMC1? MGS3? Wind Waker? REmake? RE4? There's a lot of games that seem like shoe-in's, yet haven't been brought up yet.

lol no. Putting aside the awful cutscenes, as that's an easy target, Twin Snakes has an inferior soundtrack, inferior voice performances, poor character models (poor Otacon) and is honestly just a broken mess of a game. MGS1 wasn't designed for the mechanics Silicon Knights added and they did absolutely nothing to try and re-balance the game because of them, so the end result is a game that's laughably easy. MGS1 is and will always be the superior version of the game.

Love those showfloor vids.

Huber jumping out from behind the crate somehow cracks me up. Imagine just casually walking through the showfloor, passing by some random prop and suddenly A WILD HUBER APPEARS AND IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER EPISODE OF HUBER SNYDROME

Its from the trailer

That doesn't mean shit and you know it. There's a reason a lot of people don't watch trailers, especially for movies.

Not that I care personally since I just saw the movie and stayed on media-blackout but with a (Huber voice) HIGH STAKES movie like TLJ you gotta be careful.
Though to be fair that's also true of the spoiler-sensitive. Sephiroth's post isn't the first post that's related to TLJ and if you're so sensitive to spoilers that you go on media-blackouts, you should've bounced out of the thread as soon as you saw anything related to TLJ (which I personally did).

I wasn't being overly senseitive, but if you're using a spoiler box it makes sense to assume it's a spoiler. And if it's a spoiler you should label the box.

I haven't watched the trailer nor do I care about the movie. The main reason I opened the box and asked is to make sure it's not a spoiler for those who care ᖍ(ツ)ᖌ

You're ok by me Sephiroth ... however the thread has decreed that you must be drawn and quartered. Please present yourself.

Pardon. I was more in reference to people like Silfer who were acting a bit more... hostile (at least that is how I read their response).

I just started realizing that Kyle looks a lot like Tobey Maguire and now every time I see him I wanna go watch Spiderman.

Shenmue counter at 914 days (correct if I'm wrong on E3 2015. I guess there was that face thing, can't recall when)

The latest Hall of Greats video reminded me how great a game GTA3 is. That game was a revolutionary experience when I played it. I think it gets left out of industry defining moments conversations. To me it's right next to Mario 64 as a game that changed everything.

Are you guys posting Big Bang Theory spoilers? 'Cause you know I haven't caught up with BBT yet.

On a serious note, I enjoyed the Hall of Greats episode. The Survivor-style voting confessionals added a whole lot. Since I haven't made any posts in here before this, I'll add that I really enjoyed Kyle's Captain Toad/Pac-Man 2 stream from a while back and the Octopath Traveler stream from a few months ago.

FFVIIr I don't put any faith on. DMC V also has to appear, c'mon. RE2 I don't specially care but it's so weird it hasn't been shown yet, if it doesn't make E3 at least some sort of teaser or statement will happen, I guess.

Resident evil 7 has had a great year. They were focuses on selling that + dlc. Now that it's out I bet we see RE2 at E3

I can see why, the announcement was basically just them saying "it's been greenlit and we're gonna start making it". With such a lowkey announcement I wouldn't have expected it anytime soon. Gonna come up to three years at next E3 though so I could see them doing an official reveal with release date announcement for 2019.

The nature of Shenmue 3 as a crowdfunfed project means it's likely never going to have a huge blowout trailer at a big conference again. it's probably mostly going to have incremental backer updates/dev diaries etc they just put out whenever. That's just the nature of the type of project it is, expecting it to have the same kind of PR cycle as AAA stuff is IMO just setting youself up for dissapointment.

In general I do expect E3 to be bigger in terms of the type of annoucements I care about, i.e more core/fan-favourite stuff like RE2 Remake, DMC5 etc

Makes sense! I don't really follow RE and thought Capcom wanted to do a 2-in-1 with 7 da REmake 2 in the same year (or the immediate following year) to grab the fans again.

Was watching some random videos about speedrunning, and then suddenly...

The world is a small place after all lol. Damiani must #MakeItRight and do a full LP so not to besmirch the honor of the Hall of Greats :P
