As someone who sported that through most of his early 20s, this is absolutely right.
I have the chin beard, but I also have a mustache and I keep the chin beard fairly low.

This is mainly because I can't grow the handle bars that connect fully, and I don't grow much on my cheeks. So preferable to style it than have wispy hair everywhere.

And I don't want the mustache by itself.

He'll record something like Tasha Yar's Funeral Speech

I finally got around to watching "The People Vs George Lucas" and have to say I am disappointed. It was constant berating of George Lucas. The Half in the Bag discussion with the director was much better.

After watch "The People vs George Lucas" I wanted to see if "The Prequels Strike Back" was on any streaming service and saw that the people behind that have made an addendum or sorts.

The first one is more "ring theory" BS

The second is about Star Wars games

I haven't seen "The People Vs George Lucas", but if you want to watch a documentary that doesn't constantly berate George Lucas (but is honest about his shortcomings), Chuck from SFDebris has a lengthy series about the making of Star Wars.

The first set of videos (Hero's Journey) talks for almost two hours (if you binge watch) about George Lucas and his background leading into the making of the original Star Wars.

The second set of videos (Shadow's Journey) talks for three hours about Lucas riding high off the success of that film, and making Empire and Jedi, before it all came crashing down around him.

The third series (Hermit's Journey) is currently coming out (might finish shortly after New Years), and talks about George Lucas getting back onto that horse with The Prequels.

It's a very fascinating and entertaining series.

Just wanted to give thanks and also curses for finding this OT. Finally catching up on all the old HITB eps and it is simultaneously enriching and ruining my life.

I've seen similar comments under Mark Kermode's review video, so apparently "fans" don't like this one, for some reason. I have to admit, I am now slightly curious as to why that is.

Posted this in the Box Office thread; thought it was hysterical and it just makes me more excited to see the movie.

Admittedly something like this just makes me want to see the film lol.

Otherwise I'm really "meh" on Last Jedi. I actually really enjoyed TFA, but it might've been more because my then-GF was a big SW fan and it was fun to get excited because she was excited, and I ended up hating Rogue One so I guess I'm a bit soured on the series.

If someone asks me to come see The Last Jedi with them I'll go but otherwise it's whatever, I'll watch or not watch it at some point.

I will say I'm super curious how RLM will like this movie. Because I have literally no idea.

IT BROKE NEW GROUND

The first 3minutes of the Rogue one review are legendary

Still salty that Rogue One didn't get a proper Plinkett review.

Meanwhile Mike loves TFA and does a full on 2-hour deconstruction of Star Wars as a whole + TFA.

I haven't seen it. But having seen a lot of spoilers I'd guess that the main reason a fan would hate it is that they think Luke was done dirty.

Star Wars fans have been trained to worship George Lucas. The guy expanded his universe by allowing other people to add to it with little-to-no oversight (with varying results) and then he ignored all of it and made objectively worse material (both in terms of the Prequels and edits that damaged his original films), which blatantly conflicted with the work he allowed to be made, but claimed superiority over those other works by way of "G-canon" (aka: anything George says is right, at the time when he says it), a ranking system which explicitly says that George's works are on a higher level (even when they're prequel trash, or Han allowing Greedo to shoot him point-blank in the head before he attempts to fight back).

When George sold Star Wars to Disney, many cheered, but others cried. When Disney decided to go in another direction from the outlines George had handed them, there was more crying. Plenty of "hardcore Star Wars fans" were ready to shit on TFA no matter what it did. Disney straight-up killed the EU, and I think some fans are more upset that George isn't the one making the new movies.

When that tweet says the new movie insults "every Star Wars movie that came before it", it's hard to imagine that the new movie insults TFA or Rogue One (I mean, how would such a thing be even possible?). Whch means they're talking about the earlier, non-Disney films. But they didn't want to say that the new movie shits on the original films (like if say, the new movie did Luke dirty, which I don't know if they did or didn't). That's not what they tweeter wants to say. The tweeter specifically wants to include the Prequels. The tweeter is pissed that this is the new G-canon. They're pissed, so very pissed, that this isn't the movie George would have made.

It's extremely weird and long. It's kind of difficult to say if it's bad because it's just so strange.

Yes.

I can't wait to see their review. It's my favorite. I can't tell if it'll be everything they ever wanted or everything they never wanted to see.

I didn't see Rogue One but the premise of your post is wrong.
