Game crashed on me. Loaded it back up found a buggy. Decided to say fuck killing, and am sitting near the ocean now. Drove around everywhere lol.

Played my first game on an Xbox One X last night (after playing it on an OG Xbox before that) and it looks loads better! Obviously the game has performance issues - that doesn't need to be said - but it's nice to see a game that has actually different visual settings on the more powerful console!

This has happened to me 3 times. And I've only been fortunate once. I'm worried Its going to happen when I'm in the final circle with 1 or 2 players.

Game was lagging last night on EU servers quite substantially, the guys I were playing with also experienced Lagg spikes so I believe it was server side rather than my connection.

That's pretty cool, including the statement spelling out the efforts to let people know that's it's really not a finished game. I can only speak to what I've seen, but they've done a good job there. Even specifying that it's behind the PC version, which itself still isn't quite to 1.0.

The marketing was pretty clear, the fact it was a preview and an unfinished product was plastered everywhere. It's even on the game's box if you buy it physical, it's on the game store's page on Xbox, and it tells you at the start of the game. Too bad there's that pathetic fanboy narrative in the other threads that Microsoft barely ever mentioned it wasn't a finished product to mislead the people. The lenghts people go for the console wars...

Jealous of everyone playing. I only had time to play 2-3 matches so far and haven't been able to game very much these last few weeks. Might have some more time in January, but until then, keep those impressions and cool moments coming!

didnt change a thing for me

My main issues with PUBG on XB1X were; Parachuting / Landing, pop-in, and close-quarters gun fights.

Last night I turned-off my DVR & Auto-updates before I played my first match and I noticed an immediate improvement. Straight away I could tell just by the pre-game lobby. Parachuting in was much smoother, with far less texture pop and I could actually see other players in the air.

A couple of janks after hitting the ground, but that settled down quickly. While roaming & looting (on foot or driving) things were just smoother overall and with less texture-pop.

The biggest test came with my first close-quarters gun-fight. To my pleasure, it wasn't a bounce side-to-side, frame-drop, shit-show. It was actually quite decent, and I won the duel, which was nearly impossible before. This trend continued throughout the evening with me winning many more close encounters.

Anyway, I was very pleased with the results and I can't wait to jump-out again tonight!

Anyone having issues with looting other players? Pretty much in ever match I've played it wont loot a lot of the items, only a few items. And in one of the matches last night the UI straight up locked up on me and I couldn't move or select anything for about 30 seconds.

Game is so addictive and fun but the worse thing right now is the terrible input lag, rubber banding, and frame rate. I have such a hard time aiming in a fire fight because the frame rate tanks. And I'm on the X. Even tried the disabling DVR and even set it to 1080p. I really hope they get out patches for this game in a timely manner.

Bought this for my son as we are Fort Nite addicts. I've seen tons of videos on YouTube of the crazy issues in this game but I'm hoping patches will iron everything out and when it fully releases to public it performs well.

I had the "loot" issue happen to me several times last night. Sucks if you're in a hurry. Thankfully it wasn't a persistent problem.

Disabling the DVR definitely improved the game for me (XB1X). I also disabled "Auto-Updates" and was playing off the internal HDD.

I'll have to disagree here. It really depends on your setup. I have a pretty decent receiver and speakers and can tell exactly where the sounds (gunfire, footsteps) are coming from. Headphones can be great for hearing all the action, but to say that speakers with discrete sound channels are not optimal is just wrong.

TV audio, HTIB or soundbar setup might not cut it, but good surround sound speakers with a good dedicated receiver can't be beat.

Yeah its not just that though, its the whole being able to hear people walking on the hillside, vehicles and planes when your on the 2nd level of the bunker......you should be able to hear anything outside surely!!?

If anything, vehicle audio seems way too high as far as I'm concerned. I usually hear a car or bike very close-up, hearing its actual engine and all, then it turns out it's like 100 metres away from me. That always confuses me greatly because I never have a fucking clue how far and where is the enemy vehicle because it always sounds like it's under my ass. It happens with both the TV's audio and the headset.

I had a rifle, a smoke grenade, no armour, no helmet, no vest and maybe a pan.

I was in the top 7 and after crawling for 1400 miles, I took a guy out. I crawl to his body and cool beans, 3 boxes to loot!!! I'm grabbing level 3 armour, backpack, a Vector, scopes galore. Finally I can get some action, of course I forgot about the bloody blue wall as I was excited to get loot. We're down to the top 5, the circle has surrounded me and I'm dying. I grab a Jeep and decide 'fuck it' I might awsell try and run someone down, I drive down a cliff trying to get back into the circle and I die, finishing 4th in the process.

For that exact reason, I strategically use maybe half or three-quarters acceleration (with some coasting) and it lets me sneak up on people pretty well. I think of them more like normal cars: If you really floor it, they get pretty loud. I've literally pretended to drive away by turning a corner then going progressively lighter on the gas within the first 50 yards, and it worked. The guy assumed I was long gone, so I looped around and got the jump on them. Audio is its own meta-game, I swear.

Some one posted earlier a picture with more servers, including for South America. What happened to these?

Yesterday was almost impossible to play, usually the lag doesn't get in the way, but yesterday I had all sorts of trouble due to it (teleporting, shooting enemies, having the visual feedback of the hit, but he would never die, and after the match I would get 0 bonus for hitting enemies. I even got damage when landing because I teleported and the game thought I fell a big distance)

I've still only seen the initial three territories, though when I played yesterday, the game remembered my default instead of re-asking me between matches (thankfully). For a bit when I started, the network performance seemed more twitchy like you're describing, though that may have been more to do with my uploading Game DVR clips in the background. By about 20 minutes in, the performance was the best I've had, which felt nice and "punchy" if that makes any sense. I'm in the Northeast US though, which I think is a pretty ideal pipeline.

Only experienced minor bugs playing the game. Shooting on xbox needs the most work right away.

If you haven't done it yet, I recommend turning up the default sensitivites (not crazy-high though) and most importantly turning down the dead-zone as much as your particular controller will allow. Mine's set at 1 right now, and it feels better. I had been finishing in the teens beforehand, and once I changed both of those, I was getting top-ten consistently.

Had a blast last night. I did much better than the night before. My highest ranking so far is 7th...and that was intense. I was like one foot away from getting back in the circle and died. I only got one kill that round, but the match before that I got like 60th with 2 kills....so you just never know. I hate just hiding out though. I wanna get in there and shoot some fools. Can't wait to spend hours and hours playing this over the holidays.
Also I feel like I do a million times better playing with headphones because I'm more in tune to what direction sounds are coming from...but having said that, this feels like a perfect podcast game....so I'll probably rarely play that way.

I give it a try later at 1 thanks, currently set at 10 deadzone._

In my second ever squad match last night got a chicken dinner with 3 kills. Yes this game is jenky as all hell but I'm glad it's out. I had the $5 holiday credit which I happily used. I really hope they make weapons and items just easier to see. That is one of my main issues right now. Game is really hard to read. It's almost like what I remember MMO's looking like on PC before WoW.

I kind of got that feeling from others reaction. Many negatives but it seems positives out weigh them with promise also of a better future.

Thanks for the reinforcement.

There are technical issues in the game but the core experience is an absolute blast. I've played 50 hours on PC and I'm having just as much fun on Xbox. It's just FUN. And the technical stuff should only get better. Enjoy it!

I personally regret purchasing the game in this state. I was LOL'ing at how horrendous it looked and played when I first tried it. I know it'll get updates but so far, Microsoft really botched the first impression of this game for many of us who've heard so many good things.

I'll be honest - this is beyond just "janky" quality. It's more like something people on Steam would flame a developer for until it was pulled from sales. I truly think it's that bad.

I'll see what happens with the updates but in my mind a game preview should be on the level of alpha or even close to beta. This game is NOWHERE near that state. It's more like pre-alpha internal test for the devs only kind of thing.

Except it was this janky on PC (at least my older PC) to start and I still loved it. And it still thrived on PC.

I hate that I have to be the PUBG defense force on this one. It's probably too early, but the true test of whether this is okay for them to do or not is if they support it and update quickly.

Hopefully they start next week and start addressing aiming/input. Don't care about frames--fix the controls first.

I find this so crazy! I've been playing the PC version every week since it released in March (it's probably my third favourite game this year after BOTW and Mario) and the Xbox version is just that with a halved frame rate (assuming you could get 60fps on PC - I could). There's nothing missing, nothing more broken than anything that has been in the PC version in it's first 6 months of release. This idea that 'Microsoft botched the release'... It's just the same game that Bluehole released on PC. On PC I get the marshmallow houses every other game that I can't enter. I get the texture-less rocks. The loading in area is sub 30fps. Hoping those are all fixed on PC when it hits 1.0. But that's the game (in early access) unfortunately.
I agree. I don't think this is in the state that the poster is saying in the quoted portion. In the version we have now, its playable and more importantly it's fun. It will get improved, im sure, and in the interim we will continue to have a good time with it.

Yeah, I get not liking jank and frames, but there's a lot of needless bluster about this game.

I mean, come on. We've got articles from super reputable sites such as Digital Foundry saying the game straight up performs badly. What I'm saying isn't crazy. In fact, since I've never played the PC version I could arguably be a gauge of what the average consumer who's trying PUBG on the X1 for the first time is thinking. The game doesn't have a great first impression....at all.

When I play Rainbow 6 Siege, for instance, there are some janky ass things that happen in that game. I've seen shit like Tachanka's turret glitching out and floating in the air in the middle of the room. Sometimes you'll be watching another player and you can't see their hands, just a gun wobbling around on the screen. These are all silly, stupid glitches that are at the end of the day humorous because the gameplay is super rock solid.

PUBG as stands now ain't remotely close to this, I'm sorry. And again, I fully understand it's a game preview and it will (knock on wood) improve. I'm really HOPING it will improve. Right now though I'll stick to other games that feel more fleshed out and don't make me feel like a guinea pig.

Edited: spelling and stuff.

That would be really good. The game deserves constant support because when the framerate is smooth, like a locked 30fps at times, that's when the game just shines. It's a damn good experience either way, but i noticed with a much smoother framerate what a huge difference it makes. But my god can the framerate dip into ridiculously low numbers especially when you're in a vehicle making combat almost impossible really. Smooth that out, add a (HDR) brightness option in the game and improve the anti-aliasing and we're good.

I feel the gameplay issues have been exagerrated for people who aren't playing the game because of the tone (and some aggressive commentary) in the DF article, and more importantly, things like the Crowbcat video being seen as indicative of general gameplay.

That said, things like the hilarious movement for setting a motorcycle back up after it's fallen is some Grade-A jank. I don't want to overstate things to imply the game is ideal as-is, but I don't bother with broken games, and I already have at least seven hours into this version.

Just played first game. My gosh it was laggy as hell.

Also, why does hdr suck so bad? It's so dark? Anyone else have that issue with hdr.

No. If anything the issues are being glossed over by millions of people. And the shit isn't exaggerated. It's fucking awful. I'm not gonna speak to the PC version but Xbox? I can't actually believe there are people who play this and think it's good. Pretty fucking crazy man. Legit blows my mind. Textures are PS1 level. Framerate atrocious. HDR broken. Controls are the worst and unresponsive. Everything about the game on Xbox is trash. No hyperbole. Just pure trash. Super happy w Xbox Support for giving me my refund

It's legit the worst game I've ever played in my life.
