I love that many know what it is now so you can see the added pressure on them and I think it often throws off their game. Very unique and a great addition to Mixer.
The Hypezone Mixer stream is such a clever idea. I've never seen anything like it before. Has it had it's own thread? I think it's really interesting!
To be honest, it doesn't seem too bad. In the beginning, there are a *lot* of drops and it seems there is a lot of stuff going on in the background, perhaps getting all the positioning of all the players and analysis of that data as it goes up after a few seconds.
My friend is just way too awesome, fucking awesome.

Yeah, I don't want to underplay it too much, because the game does have plenty of jank, but watching the DF video (and hearing their commentary beyond the actual data), I've been surprised at the stability of it all while I'm actually sitting down playing. Like out of a 24 minute session, like 23 minutes of that will be in the ballpark of 30 fps that plenty of acceptable retail games are, and the drops are primarily from the initial loading. It's anything but ideal, but the tone I'm seeing (even in some of the formal analysis) is feeling exagerrated, re: actual on-the-ground gameplay.
That said, if people are seeing this on the shelves and advertised more along the lines of a final game, I think giving them the heads up of problems is more important than nuance with how critical we are about the specifics. People gotta know that this is a work-in-progress.
I'm glad I got a chicken dinner in my first match then, after 3 hours it remains the only time I even got close to the top ironically. Guess as more time passes I'll get my ass handed to me more often, oh well.

Weird! Are you redeeming on the Xbox website or on your console? Is your console set to another region other than US (did you change it to NZ or something at some point to try and download something early maybe?). If it is, try it on the website if you've been trying on your console. When I've bought codes from abroad before (not saying your friend has but that's the error that it's giving you...) it says something like this to me and it just let's me change my region I think.

I tried it on the X itself and on the website too. I do have to mention that I live in Holland and so does he, but we both have been using a USA account since day one because of several reasons. Never any problems redeeming USA gift cards or anything, so I doubt this is the reason?

I just want to get some kills, I personally don't even care if I get #1 or not. I have only gotten one kill and that was running someone over by a vehicle lol
So I thought all game preview games were required to have a 1 hour free trial. Why does this game not, or has that requirement been dropped?
There is going to be a trial later. They didn't have one day 1 because it would've destroyed the servers (or something like that)

Once servers stabilize to where they want it to, they will open up trials. MS has already put out a statement on it.
I had a blast playing last night but only ever got one kill. The fire fights you can have in this game are pretty amazing. I was hanging outside of a building last night and someone started shooting at me. I had no idea where they were so I ran into the house and waited for them. Turns out they were upstairs. Got him though.
Agreed. I have a launch Xbox One and I didn't really notice any slowdown while I was on the ground. The aim assist is messing with me though.

They also have seemed to have done something with input lag that is beyond the normal...when i have played on my computer and it dropps into the teens the input lag is extreme...even at 10-15 here it doesn't feel as bad as it should (still feels bad)
Edit: aim assist is not needed this is not a twitch shooter for the most part...the thing i wouldn't mind seeing is a reduction or the ability to more easily control recoil...recoil is so easy to control on mouse for obvious reasons...for this game to play more like the pc they should tone it down slightly...its like how destiny 2 on console has recoil and on the pc its totally gone because they didn't up it for pc
Unfortunately you can only see the full amount when you login to the game for the first time before playing any games.
It's just so intriguing to me. Can the largest game on PC this year translate that success to a console version that is a bit hamstrung on performance.
Every "IRL" person I know who has the game loves it so far. I'll be stunned if it doesn't do well.

Yeah, don't get me wrong--the performance concerns are justified and I am very eager to see where this goes in the next month/few months. However, with that being said, I think folks get way ahead of themselves these days when it comes to perceived "awfulness" and subjective tolerances and judgment regarding what is good/bad--mainly because fun sells. And this is arguably the most fun you'll have on either of the big consoles this winter.
So, it should do very well.
Never had this problem. I bought an USA code from Cuphead after someone said you can just activate any key on the console and it would switch to that store for this moment, I have a German Account and setting is on Germany on the console and code worked as expected.
Based on my brief dalliance with temptation on CDKeys, I could have sworn the PUBG codes were global, not region specific.
I don't think the frame rate issues are overblown at all. I'm playing on the X on a 4k monitor and spent about 4 hours last night playing. On foot is about the only thing that's not too bad. But run into any other players up close and the frame rate tanks. Then jump in any vehicle and its even worse. Probably around 20fps. On top of that vehicle controls are clunky making it a very un-enjoyable experience. I had fun no doubt, but this is the messiest game I have played in a very long time even for a game preview.
I can attest to this as I thought I was the first one too a crate and it was my first tonne ever checking one out and i accidentally ran over a gilly suit bandit. Lol
To each there own but I find the vehicle controls to be great and straight forward. In fact the control scheme overall feels really good for the gamepad given how much they have crammed onto it. As to the frame rates, I also am playing on the X and really haven't found the frame rates beyond the opening sequences to be overly jarring and ruining my game time. I certainly hope they are able to iron it out more and deliver a really smooth gameplay experience but as of now in game preview...its delivering what I had expected.
My boys and I had a lot of fun playing last night. Other than the pretty good slowdown when everyone is acting crazy in the matchmaking lobby and before dropping from the plane, it generally played well overall for us. It is fun now and sure to be improved going forward with more work.

I finished dead last once. Very hard to do. Fell onto the school and got punched out on the roof with two others.
