Yeah, I don't want to underplay it too much, because the game does have plenty of jank, but watching the DF video (and hearing their commentary beyond the actual data), I've been surprised at the stability of it all while I'm actually sitting down playing. Like out of a 24 minute session, like 23 minutes of that will be in the ballpark of 30 fps that plenty of acceptable retail games are, and the drops are primarily from the initial loading. It's anything but ideal, but the tone I'm seeing (even in some of the formal analysis) is feeling exagerrated, re: actual on-the-ground gameplay.
That said, if people are seeing this on the shelves and advertised more along the lines of a final game, I think giving them the heads up of problems is more important than nuance with how critical we are about the specifics. People gotta know that this is a work-in-progress.
