I did, albeit just for a couple rounds and without spending much time customizing the set up. I'm going to wait until I'm more familiar/more comfortable with the controls before trying to put something together.

For now, I was just using 2 paddles (my personal preference) and had crouch/prone on the left and reload on the right. Crouch/prone on a paddle was nice, but reload on the right paddle was fucking fantastic given how this game handles reloading with having to hold the button for the duration. Being able to still control both axis while reloading has already proved to be invaluable in a closer quarters firefight.

Thanks! Looking forward to trying it with my Elite controller when I get home. I've easily put in 100+ hours in PC version. I'm a little concerned a out the 30fps and how it impacts gameplay.

How does this look on a 4k screen? I'll be playing on a One X and a 65".

Ok, thank you : ) I am not interested in this game at all, seems junky as F and not the mention multiplayer only and make some people say words beginning with N whilst playing it. So I am totally not interested. I just wanted to express my disinterested in game, since everybody seems to everybody seems to be playing it.
Lol what?

Read please response #1582 for my reaction, but you were right and I was wrong, are we okay now?

For a game that you clearly have ZERO interest and from your own admission, you seem to spend a lot of time posting in this thread. Do you do this with all things in life? So if you hate Sea Food, you eat at sea food places? You hate paprika, but still use it in your food? You hate Star Wars but still buy tickets and go see Star Wars?

The guy has already said it was a bad post and took responsibility for it. What was the point of your post?

No I was here to ask about the engine of the game and than carried away, I stated that my posts suck and I am no longer post in here. Or, well I am going to, but only to say the same thing as to you. And sea food is great, by the way : )

Cross posting from the Adopt-A-User thread:

Can someone post this as a news thread?

Title: Mixer Launches PUBG HypeZone (Redzone for PUBG Top 10)
This was posted in the PUBG on XBO thread but I think that it's a cool enough streaming implementation to be called out. The concept is the same as the NFL's RedZone channel that switches to games where a team is near scoring.
https://majornelson.com/2017/12/12/introducing-mixer-hypezone-an-all-new-dedicated-channel-for-pubg/
HypeZone PUBG Channel is the must-watch Mixer channel featuring the most exciting, down-to-the-wire PUBG action. HypeZone switches between Mixer streamers closest to winning the coveted Chicken Dinner, hosting the streamer until they either win or die. This gives viewers the opportunity to discover streamers of all levels during the most intense moments of the game.
Thanks!

Played one game and litterally didn't know how to play this game. Have to learn the controls first before jumping back in. Also, had no weapon and sneaked up on a dude. Started punching away but it didn't do any real damage. After about ten punches I died, because he had a gun (took him ahwile before turning around and shooting me in the face).

Got my first game in. 4th place. Need to get used to the controls, but it's still as intense as it was on PC.

I ended up fumbling with the controls trying to capture some kills. Realized that I haven't used the capture stuff in a while and got none of it.

lol. All good man. It just irks me when people that post in a thread about a game they have no interest in...it's like, why waste your time in a thread you have no interest.

I played my first round (which adds to the confusion, I know) on a standard controller before switching, and just those 2 paddles made a world of difference for me. Like I said, I don't even ever use all 4 paddles, but if you're comfortable with that I can see it being a huge benefit for this game in particular.

What'd you map to the paddles?

What trouble? Playing the game or dealing with the bugs in the early access?
Dealing with all of technical stuff. I love the core gameplay here but the visuals, performance, gunplay and amount of bugs and crashes are really off-putting. I understand that it's Early Access but maybe I'd be better off waiting until it's polished up more.

I'm not saying the quality of the effects are bad, but placement is wrong. Footsteps beside you are opposite side, cars behind you are actually a km off in front of you.

When I'm getting shot from in front of me, turns out it's behind me.

It's a mess.

The only way this makes any possible sense is if your headphones are on the wrong ear.

Digital foundry has posted their analysis. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-pubg-xbox-one-and-xbox-one-x-performance

The game does not run well. 25 fps~ on the S, 27 fps~ on the X. With dips all over the place seemingly at random.

The game is in Preview (another words nothing new here). Why would Digital Foundary do a complete analysis for a unfinished game?

P.S. this doesn't seem to stop all the previous posters from having fun with the game.

Just crouch/prone on the left and reload on the right. Once I actually figure out what the hell I'm doing, I'll probably revisit and give it a go with all 4 paddles in place. My early impression is that having reload on the paddle is a must, given how it's implemented.

Was that the S, or the OG? Would be interested to see the difference between those two.

I think it's great that DF took a look at it. It'll hopefully spur action re: updates.

I also hope they revisit it upon release, so we can track improvements.

Nice. Can't wait to see how the game improves as it catches up with the improvements on the PC test build. It's already fun as hell.

...it's a product you can buy with money now. Why shouldn't people be informed about it?

The difference here is PUGB was not expected to run perfect at launch. ARK was the first game that really showed how long a game might stay in the XBOX Preview program. The Game also demonstrated how much a game could/would change while in that program. We Happy Few is another game that has show this amazing change in quality. Another words Xbox Preview program is clearly defined by other games that have come before PUGB was even added to the program.

Holy Crap in only my 5th match I made it to #3. I had no kills but got lucky and played stealth until all 3 of us were in a tiny circle and I got shot dead before I knew where the other guy was, I suck at MP games but getting to #3 so early on gives me hope I can be reasonably competitive.

Great game worth the Hype

Right, but how does writing/posting an article about how it runs a bad thing? Someone can take what they know about how it runs and choose whether or not to buy in rather than going in blind.

Man does it run bad. I have an X and this is rough. Frame drops everywhere, I've played plenty on PC and I can say right now this is a bad port. I hope hey put the work in that's needed because right now, I cannot recommend anyone picking this game up until it's out of preview or gets a major performance patch.

Honestly I'm like the other guy was this a OG, or a S? What do those differences show? FPS will probably change just like ARK's and We Happy Few's changed.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is - without question - the biggest game in the world right now, so Microsoft's current console exclusivity for the title is obviously a big deal. Equally without question is that the PC game is notorious for its work-in-progress visuals and wobbly performance. With that in mind, some might say that it's somewhat miraculous that any playable version of PUBG is possible on a console right now. From another perspective though, what's clear is that the current build of the game is a long way short of the standards expected from a polished console release.

PUBG on Xbox One starts up promisingly enough with a decent, attractive front-end, but once you've moved on from character creation to your first in-game lobby, you're instantly besieged by low resolution textures that seem to be failing to stream in properly, combined with performance just above or below the 20fps threshold - depending on whether you're playing on Xbox One or its significantly more powerful 4K counterpart.

That settles it then. Terrible performance plus no aim assist means I'll be sticking with getting murdered on the Steam version.

this article is actually a good thing for pubg on xbox one

in some ways, this "bad" publicity will put some pressure on the studio to refine it quickly, at least this is my hope/opinion

Yep, definitely. I think a lot of the strange issues I'm seeing a server based. I had to wait almost 10 seconds a few minutes ago to get the prompt to pick up ammo.

Even in gameplay it drops to the low 20s, dropping as low as 18fps. It holds 30fps a lot of times, but there are too many dips into the low/mid 20s IMO.

I know PUBG isn't known for its visuals, but it also looks pretty rough. I've seen a lot of PC people say that it looks too dark too, but maybe that's the HDR?

It looks sort of bland to me on PC, so I use a mod caled ReShade that lets you add various effects to the game - I use a sharpening filter and another that adds more color to the game.

I have been playing Fortnite BR on PS4 since it's release and it did not look or perform as quite as bad as PUBG on XB1. It did have some control issues and an unstable framerate in the first month. Only a couple months later the game performs extremely well and has received constant major updates. Also it's FREE.

I would bet money in 3 months time, PUBG on original XB1 will still perform and look poor. The PUBG team are generally much slower to make significant updates. This should not be $30. Period.

Battle Royale was a hot mess on Xbox One at launch; much worse than PUBG is right now on Xbox One or Xbox One X.

Your guesstimate on the PUBG's update time is also kinda besides point considering it's not even the same team working on the game.

Been watching some streams of a friend and I noticed how the interiors of houses all seem to be exactly the same. Now I know it's not about any of that but come on now.

The trailer during E3 showed a cool looking building interior though. So it does seem there is some variety, just not for the houses.
