Playerunknowns Battlegrounds on Xbox One X renders at a native resolution of 3840 x 2160.

Well. There it is.

Now all they need to do is to optimize the CPU routines and get the highres textures in.

I can't be the only one who HATES click to ADS.

Why isn't it just hold the trigger? So frustrating and unnecessary.

People have been asking this for months on PC, and they said it's coming in 1.0 but it's not on the test server, so who knows. You can actually enable it on PC by editing the ini files, but it doesn't work great, ADS gets very laggy - probably the reason they haven't enabled it, they're trying to work it out. Bluehole is not the most competent developer in the world.

Anyone else find the HDR makes the game way too dark? Considering how important seeing things in the distance is I feel like I can't see shit at times. Think I'm going to disable HDR when I play this.

Got into a few games by changing my region to Europe (I'm from the US), everything played pretty smooth. Even though the Xbox PUBG trailers were in 4k, the graphics on Xbox One didn't look anything remotely like that IMO (I watched a graphic comparison video too, they really don't seem that different). I like that there's no aim assist, makes it more legit.

Watching TwoAngryGamers play this on the normal XB1 on Twitch. Fuuuuuuck me. They put this on store shelves? Between the framerate, extremely low IQ, and input lag, it seems to be in a pretty abhorrent state for something you're selling to people. It should be a free alpha until they properly optimize this thing.

Was able to play about three rounds last night...I see what the big deal is now. Played on the X and I thought performance was ok. Mostly 30fps with some dips. The Pre-match and Plane\parachute segment were slideshows though.

That's not how early access works lol.

Microsoft has told us in a statement that the missing trial is due to server stability, and it'll be coming at a later date.

Good work tracking that down.

Early access is an absolute bullshit excuse for something that's on physical shelves. Even by early access standards this is in a shit state.

At least it's only 30 bucks though?

I don't know why the shelves matter? It's still a digital code, still a digital game, and still clearly represented as being a preview/early access title.

And I dunno if I agree about the state of things, at least from an Xbox One X perspective.

Coming from someone who played Rust a TON on PC back in the day and Ark on xbox and ps4, it seems a bit better than at least those two examples. The game runs pretty well once on the ground so to me, that seems already a bit ahead of those examples I gave.

Ark was insanely bad I do remember that.

Wasn't Rust free in it's earliest most rough state? I can't remember.

What's the overall plan/schedule for full release, on both PC and Xbox? I've followed the game just because of the hype but am ignorant to the details of when they will consider it in a "final" or "complete" state (outside of normal content additions).

PC is out now and at 1.0.
Xbox version is atm at 0.5 and no timetable.

I'll be shocked if this is the res, the it is pretty awful if it really is native 4k.
The image quality is great. It's the textures that make everything look a bit low-res.
They should drop the resolution a bit and get a locked solid 30fps.
Again. I don't think GPU is the problem at all. There are no great effects going on that the engine offers to render.

The problems are the CPU tasks and geometry. They need to optimize these a lot. Then the FPS will be more stable. The GPU won't be the problem for the game at all. I even expect them to still have room there. They need to offload more things to the GPU. I'm sure they will do that. It's still very early.

As someone who runs a marketing company, it's very evident they're promoting this game like a real launch, not a game that's in alpha state. They've sent mini swag carepackage boxes with the game included to a LOT of Youtubers and streamers. Their social media approach has almost zero mention of it being an early access product, and instead has constantly mentioned the impending launch and exclusivity. They've taken a tactful approach to make the 'early access' portion a very very small asterisk that's mentioned as little as possible. Unsurprisingly I've already had 4-5 casual gamer friends speak to me who had zero clue that it was releasing as an early access / alpha style game.

As a result I think it's absolutely right that if Microsoft are marketing and promoting the game like a real launch, players should be able to feedback as if it's a real launch (not to mention the fact it's a paid product).

I don't think that would fix anything. The main problem is CPU from everything loading up. Even dropping the resolution wouldn't fix that.
That's the thing everyone predicted would make the console versions fucked.

I want this on my PS4 some day, but I know the CPU restrictions is going to result in a similar outcome as what we're seeing on XB1.
