I can confirm that the game automatically selects your closer server now. Just booted up and already had Europe selected.
Your post just happened to be a reflection of the ACTUAL state of PUBG. Not saying your post is an example of people lobbying for it to be eligible for GOTY. I'm saying your post is accurate which makes it hard for me to understand the other people who say this (clearly) unfinished game should be in contention for GOTY. Sorry for the misunderstanding. My comment about it being in Game Preview on Xbox One was in reply to someone calling the game on Xbox One shoddy. The game is in preview and has been in preview for less than 1 day so far. Not sure where GOTY talk came from or how my post is implying anything to do with GOTY.
And a lot of folks buy consoles and play them with Elite controllers on gaming monitors and special headsets designed to make footsteps louder. That's not the console demographic couch ideal either. And honestly I think it's a pretty small percentage had it in their minds that "level playing field for online multiplayer" when they decided on getting a console. They get consoles because they're cheaper, simpler in general, have exclusives, and are more suited to TV use. While I don't think it's cheating/indefensible, your "everyone has the option" argument isn't great. Everyone has the option for all manner of things, and a lot of folks buy consoles expecting a "level" playing field and also a simplified input/remote method (controller).
Calm down, I can read - no need for caps.
I'm not entirely sure it being in preview is much of an excuse when they're happy to charge £20+ with no trial. The game isn't exactly being marketed by MS as a preview game, they're plastering it as a game release all over their social media and in emails. IMO we've got every right to judge the game as it stands, which at the moment, again in my opinion, is shoddy.
Well, the XIM is intentionally designed to be used on consoles so.....? And everyone has the option of getting a XIM so your arguments are 0 for 2.
But if you *actually* care why I use a XIM. It's because I like KB+M for shooters. I initially got a XIM3 back in the COD Black Ops days because my PC wasn't very good and COD was terrible to play on PC post COD4. In more recent years I've gotten better PC hardware and would prefer to play there in general but use the XIM to play with my more numerous console-only friends.
Ironically I end up using my Xbox controller a lot on PC for Rocket League since I solo queue that for the most part, and M+K on Xbox for team based shooters. I don't really see the latter as any worse than the former. I'm just picking the right controls for the right games.
So, I don't have an Xbox and am not able to play PUBG on it, but I am curious about something and am hoping someone in this thread can answer. How's the inventory system work? Really interested in seeing how they adapt from the m+k layout to console control.

To me it's a strange position to occupy where you acknowledge that your preferred input method is inferior but that people shouldn't figure out a way to use a better input method because you need to be the best at the inferior method.

Native 4K.Wonder why the xbox one version looks so much more, washed out ?
Ambient Occlusion or shadow detail have nothing in common with the picture looking blurry - especially on distance.no
more probably shadows detail and ambient occlusion differences
I took that from a comment here on Era.No way the X version is 4K.
Think the X version is 1080p now with some extra things and the S version 900p or lower.

I don't know if that's correct though.
Yeah it kind of defeats the point of calling it a Game Preview if you can't actually preview it; I always assumed it was a standard feature for all of the Preview titles.
Do refunds work on Preview titles?
I believe both Kage Maru and Liabe Brave have counted it at 4K, but don't quote me.
Thankfully you can simply reconnect to your running game session.Just found out that you need to push up to pull the front end up on a motor bike. Went over a jump and pushed down to lift the front end (just like in GTA) only to flip the bike and kill myself.
Edit: and I've just had my first hard crash. :-(

Every game should have this really. I was surprised they already have this feature built in.
Is there anyway to get a refund on Xbox? Thought I'd like this because I like Fortnite but not for me

All I know is that I can get a solid 30 minutes of highly technical, thrilling, PC-style shooter action from my living room couch. Battlegrounds' port is an achievement. For their next trick, PUBG Corp. just needs to follow through and finish the game.
Pretty much how I feel. There are issues, but the fun I'm having once in a match, makes up for it. I can wait for the fixes as the game matures on console. Not sure if this has been posted here, but Polygon put up some impressions:

This sounds like a shitty port... I guess it will take them a while to get it to work. :(
Until they fix sound direction/placement - the game is basically unplayable with headphones.
Their sound engineers are goddamn terrible. This is by the far the worst sound implementation I've ever heard in a game.
None of the placement in the speakers is correct and it's game breaking to me.

Pressing RB switches to first-person.This specifically mentions first person, but I thought the first person addition wasn't coming till post-launch on consoles? I bought it but hven't been able to play yet to see.

Tap RB and you can go into FP mode. The first person servers havent launched yet tho. This specifically mentions first person, but I thought the first person addition wasn't coming till post-launch on consoles? I bought it but hven't been able to play yet to see.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox One X renders at a native resolution of 3840x2160.
