Younger me would've died at the prospect of portable 3S. In for Switch.
Vita's godly D-Pad yearns for this, though. Shame :-(

Cool, thanks. I hope that shows.
I'm still interested in the options, especially how they'll handle the button configuration. Making sure they keep it flexible for pad/Switch users in terms of button combo mappings is pretty important.
and of course netcode. Sounds like a custom version of rollback, not specifically GGPO if I understand that Capcom Unity blog post correctly.
Hello new phone wallpaper.

So the FGC has some concerns.
1. How bad will input lag be?
2. "Arcade perfect?" Based on what versions?
A lot of the oldschool FGC are interested to dump our CRTs and stop bringing arcade boards and shit. So his has loads of potential if this ends up being good. But it has to be good and has to be a viable replacement. That said, this will do wonders for the HF, ST, A2, and A3 scenes just by making it more accessible.
If you want to be meticulous about it, then yes. But they have more in common mechanically than the two Alphas do.
I think the important thing is just having something that's accessible on so many platforms just for tournament's sake
If there's issues with it (like there were with USF4 at first), they can iterate on it at the very least
It would have if this wasent coming to switch like it originally would haveSwitch too? Doesn't that make that street fighter 2 port that was extremely overpriced an even way worse deal?
Missing a couple SFZ releases IIRC.

I was personally never a big fan of the arranged OSTs in some of the SF console ports, tbh. Always one of the things that irked me about Alpha 2's home versions. It would be too bad if Alpha 2 Gold doesn't show up solely because its arranged soundtrack is my favourite in the whole series.

Except 3rd Strike, anyway. The Dreamcast OST is fire.

If you can run a PS2 somehow that system has a fantastic Alpha Compilation with Gold and a bunch of other bonus games

True. But that depends on how good it is. Depending on the input lag for instance, it might not be considered tournament viable, speaking as someone who is planning to run tournaments with this thing.
Ah I see your point. I was approaching the comparison more from a casual/general consumer perspective, like where one might actually choose A or Xism. They really don't. Things like super and throw escapes completely change the game. A2 and A3 are about as similar as HF to ST, probably more given the only viable ISM on A3 is V-ISM except for maybe Sim, which makes CC's one thing both share. I know passionate HF fans who HATE ST and I can write a whole dossier as to why.
I mean I agree with his philosophy, but Mega Man Legacy Collection was disappointing as a product for as much as he talks about accuracy.
I'm hoping for the best but Digital Eclipse doesn't have a good track record with this sort of thing. I'd love if the ST community didn't have to depend on Superguns anymore.
Nice that Switch is included but I have a feeling that if USF2 didn't sell (that price is highway robbery) it wouldn't.
They've started remastering every darn thing they better do powerstone too I give them a pass with viewtiful joe cuz that's a legal problem I believe
Right? Superguns and CRTS and expensive dreamcast sticks.
A lot of us are hoping for the best. We WANT it to be the best it can be because our scene REALLY NEEDS IT (hello Capcom!) so we are half skeptical-half losing our shit.
Dude no. I want to believe but I can't.....I can't believe. It's too scary to believe.
It's too scary to be heartbroken.
Powerstone, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Maximo collection, DMC Collection on Switch. That would be great.
IIRC, they're mostly the same, aside from additions like Cammy's XvSF theme being arranged for Gold. I don't hate them, but I would've liked an option for the original soundtrack.Third Strike's Dreamcast arrangements are infinitely better than the arcade ones.
I'm surprised you say that about Alpha 2 though. I thiiiiink Alpha 2 Gold's soundtrack was actually an entirely separate one from the arranged soundtrack on Vanilla Alpha 2's PS1/Saturn releases, but don't quote me on that. That game is actually kind of a minor mess when it comes to how many revisions there've been.
