It's be cool if there was some kind of general tutorial mode for how to play fighting games. I doubt that will be included but a guy can dream...
Well this is a something I will have to buy if they get the ports/emulation right.
My only concern is with such a huge collection it'll likely all be arcade emulation only and so any home features will be missing. Most notably Alpha 3s extra characters and world tour.

Guaranteed, and I'd rather have arcade ports than the poor ps1 ports with missing animation.
Absolutely! Frank Cifaldi tweets a lot (@frankcifaldi) and he also did a GDC talk outlining his philosophy. He's a very passionate advocate for games preservation so I hope he finds a way to make this workl.

I'm a big fan of New Gen. It's art, soundtrack and aesthetics are some of my favourite in the series.
Cause you would have to actually port that instead of use an emulator, and so far, only Sony has showed a willingness to pay Capcom for that

I mean I'll be getting this anyway for the sheer weight of games but an Alpha 3 without world tour means this won't entirely replace my existing collection. I love that mode too much. Better ports exist then that PS1 version anyway.
While I prefer HF over ST, I do find it kind of odd that they decided to include online for the both of them, being that they are much more similar than A2 and A3 are.

New Gen was cool at the time but I feel like 2nd Impact kind of renders it irrelevant because 2nd impact is basically New Gen with the content that was supposed to be in New Gen in the first place but was cut for time

I'm still interested in the options, especially how they'll handle the button configuration. Making sure they keep it flexible for pad/Switch users in terms of button combo mappings is pretty important.
and of course netcode. Sounds like a custom version of rollback, not specifically GGPO if I understand that Capcom Unity blog post correctly.
If you want to be meticulous about it, then yes. But they have more in common mechanically than the two Alphas do.
ST has five more characters (21 including O. versions) than HF, introduces supers, different moves, different graphics and music, and two very different competitive histories.
