We're planning to release on GOG, it just may happen a little after the Steam release as we get all our ducks in order along with approvals since this would be our first potential release on GOG :)

It should unlock around midnight PST tonight so that it releases on Dec 8th alongside the PS4 version.

Fucking fantastic. Thanks for the response. I'll be there on day 1 when you guys list it on GOG.

It's insane that it is not even possible to buy it anywhere else in Europe right now except for that bazaar-bazaar place. I want to buy it but I'm hesitant to use that site.

Is there a good reason *not* to start with a NG+ save?
It probably messes with progression and balance a bit as you have all combat/customization features available right from the start as opposed to continuously unlocking something new every now and then.
Couldn't say how big of a deal that is though.

Bought it on steam but I think I'll wait until after Cold Steel 2 to start, unless that gets announced for like April or something

What's up with the absurd DLC prices lol

Anywho, just bought the game. Xenoblade 2 can be pretty frustrating at times, so I think I actually might check it out soon already. Maybe not this weekend, but some time next week.

Hmm... The Steam page doesn't indicate Japanese text as an option. With only English text and JP voice, I guess I'll have to pass.

We're planning on implementation of the original Japanese version (text/graphics/movies/etc) early next year (possibly beginning of Jan).

Apologies for the wait!

Any plans on adding high refresh rate support to the Steam version?
It's a Japanese game, so I realize it might be difficult, but given ToCS seems to use the same engine and Durante managed to add unlocked framerate to PC port, it's not in the realms of impossible.

You can select what you want to carry to NG+ individually:

This is the Clear Data screen of this version:

For what it's worth I ordered from them earlier and they processed the order within a few hours and sent me a tracking number. Everything seems fine.

Even if you select nothing you skill have all the combat stuff available from the get go
Flying/Power Skill, X-Drive, X-Strike, EX Skill as well as the ability to switch master cores.

Since I'm currently sick, I decided to grab the game regardless of how poor my finances currently are. I enjoyed the japanese demo quite a bit but playing it in a language I actually understand is neat.

I guess I'll have to speak to every NPC in the entire town after every story event though? Dear god...

Correct, and even doing some little events can add new dialogue to an entire map zone.

Looking forward to talking to all the NPCs over and over again.

Have I said it's by far my favorite aspect of Falcom games? Really wish other devs would put as much thought into their NPCs.

Are there any plans to release the game on platforms other than Steam and GOG (Humble, GMG, Gamesplanet, etc)? I have some credit on a couple of those that I'd like to use.

Wait, this looks a lot like the Trails series. ..do I have to buy this? It's a bit too expensive for an impulse purchase!

edit: I already own Xanadu Next but haven't played it due to persistent stuttering on PC. It's apparently fixable but I haven't put in the time.

Oh for fucking christ's sake, I guess Steam started crashing again as soon as I connect my DS4. Fucking Windows 10.

Guess I'll stick to the shitty Xbone controller with this. M+KB controls seemed okay, but not great.

I prefer action RPGs to turn based stories. Pauses Trails of Cold Steel a bit since the beginning of the game seemed to drag and everything was too similar (going out on study research all the time, checking out the school over and over again). Is this game more varied?

Do you have any information about the situation in Europe? Is the PS4 version of the game exclusive to bazaar-bazaar or will it be sold at other retailers?

It is up on Amazon UK here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N4PCCN1/?tag=e100-21

Just to note, the graphic does show the US cover, but that's a hiccup in their system they're currently resolving.

It'll be the EU version that's shipped out though according to our distributor.

Will let you know if any more links pop up as well :)

I would hate to miss out on buying this and the wording "if any more links pop up" kinda worries me since I don't live in the UK.
What is the plan, will it be released outside of UK as well? I hope it is not limited to, say, 500 copies in the UK?

Downunder.
Any impressions about performance/features/bugs on PC?

The framerate and frametimes are stable. There was a little bit of microstutter when I used borderless mode, so I switched to Fullscreen to alleviate it. The graphics settings was super barebones, with only resolutions, display mode and brightness, but AA seems competent, although it does still produces a little shimmering. I used downsampling from 2160p to 1440p via DSR to fix this.

I have yet to try SGSSAA, and SLI works with Dishonoured 2 compatiblity bits + AFR, although this introduces microstutters. More research is needed on this issue.

I like how they added bonus story stuff at the end of every chapter that significantly expands upon the story and the characters. It's like the Vita version is only half of the game.

So, how is the translation? I won't expect it to be as good as XSEED but if they're not at least doing a dub, they have to bring at least something of worth to the table. I got my copy in the mail today, gonna wait until I get as much out of Xenoblade 2 as I can.

We're still trying to get more information from the distributor but as of right now the only two links are from bazaar-bazaar and Amazon UK unfortunately >.<

Yup! That's the DLC stuff from the VITA version and will be free for two weeks from launch and then will disappear and possibly reappear for special occasions ;)

So get it while you can!

Two hours in and I am liking the translation so far. But my opinion must be taken with a grain of salt, as I was one of the few who also liked Persona 5's translation effort this year.

What's the situation of DLC outfits on the Steam release, I see some of them in a bundle that i think were from the ps4 version, any way to get the vita ones?
I think even the original Japanese release had some fuckery over this so i really wanna know what I can get and how

The DLC packs on Steam mirror those individual ones from PS4 PSN, just bundled together for a reduced price.

Any VITA specific (Complete DLC Collection) as well as any free DLC are all already available in the Steam ver from the get go :)
